Aerith Aerith came to in a place she'd never seen before...

It wasn't the first time.

This particular unfamiliar ceiling appeared to be the inside of a bar. After a look around, the stools and tables confirmed it as such. The first big question in her head was how she'd gotten here, and the second, which made her eyes widen as she straightened up, was whether the town was safe or not.

This panic reaction made her injuries do something very bad to her, and she almost whined at the pain. "I hate losing... it always hurts!"
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart moves into Aerith's room, holding a bowl of soup and a washcloth. She's bandanges and band-aided in spots, so it shows that she had time to heal. "We all hate it. But Traverse is still here at least, so small victory." Its the room in the inn in traverse, she put Aerith there herself so she can rest "I woke up in the middle of the street, brought you back here."
Aerith Aerith placed a hand to her forehead. "You mean... it's still here?" A quick check of her surroundings indicated that yes. Traverse Town was still standing. But instead of reassuring her... it made her eyes narrow. "What are they doing..."
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart sits next to Aerith, and puts the washcloth, that is moist with some cold water to help ease up Aerith a bit more, leaving the bowl of soup on the nearby table "I have no idea. They just said something about 'we fought just well enough' and that 'we probably have learned the lesson'. I guess they wanted to prove that even if we fight as hard as we can, it won't be enough."
Aerith Aerith shook her head just as Tifa put the bowl down. "It's never that simple... If they wanted to teach us so badly, they'd have just taken the city and crushed our hopes that way. This wasn't the real attack..." She frowned. "The question was, where was it and what was it for?"
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart shakes her head "I have no idea." She sits down on a chair nearby, leaning over to put the cloith on Aerith's forehead carefully. "I know it makes no sense, but small victory, the town is still ours at least.
Aerith Aerith sighed and gave Tifa a weary smile. "Well we sent them packing with some bruises to remember, didn't we?" Flowergirl chuckled and got to eating. "So where did everyone go?"
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart shakes her head "Everyone went back to their things on their sides. We still had business to handle, like looking for the tiki birds, and we visited some weird world through a portal.
Aerith "Tiki birds?" Aerith blinked for a moment. "How'd that one start out?"
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart hmms "We went to the petrified forest and found a few tiki birds there. They told us to try to friend their 150 friends, so they pointed us out to another forest. We had to sing to bring them out. That was... quite the experience. We found 112 of them. I'm not sure where the others are, but the birds told us that's all there was to find in that forest.
Aerith Aerith chuckled. "You had to sing to get them out?" She shook her head. "I wish I was there to see that one. Too bad I was unconscious for the whole thing, huh?" She took another spoonful of her soup. "And the other world thing?"
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart hms "Well the portal led to a white world with mirrors... it was showing how things were, how things could have been, more like a mirror of desires you could say, as if it was testing us to see if we could believe this to be the truth. And then another mirror, one where we got everyhing we wanted, but at the expense of everyone and everything else, like a monster of greed.
Aerith Aerith ate her soup as she listened. That would have been awful helpful, seeing how things could have been... Then she changed her mind about that as Tifa finished the last part. "I wouldn't want to leave everyone else just for that..." She was reminded of Don Corneo and how he almost got everyone killed looking for that casino. "I don't ever want to be like that."
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart nods "It was a weird place... I mean, it was like a perfect world, you know, where nothing ever goes wrong. That never happens, only in fairy tales. And if you were in that world, you'd be wishing for something else instead. Its only looking perfect because of what we are right now. Its basically what we wish after taking down this road in our life." She looks pensive. "The third one though... it just goes against everything, as if showing us as a greedy monster that is ready to do anything to get what they want."
Aerith Aerith put her soup bowl down. "So... what did you see?" She had to ask... because she wanted to know a few things as well... about Tifa, and perhaps about herself. If she'd been there, what would she have seen? Would she even have wanted to see anything?"
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart shakes her head "... one one side there was Nibelheim, the story of it as I was young, until it got burned down. And on the other side, it was as if nothing ever happened. The village was still there, I was waiting for my hero to come back from SOLDIER, and he arrived, I welcomed him... There was no fighting, no blood spilled, everyone was alive..." She puts a hand to her forehead "And that man was saying that if we had a wish, we could make this true."
Aerith Aerith nodded, without saying anything... wondering, again, if she'd see something similar. "Tifa... I don't know what caused the place to burn down or who. You don't have to tell me if you don't want to. But... everything that happened led you to be who you are now. And I like who you are, thank you very much." Aerith giggled. "Don't change for anything, okay?"
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart smiles, nodding as she moves a hand over Aerith's "I know, I understood that when I saw the images. That wa sonly a perfect world because of what I am right now. Maybe if I had a quiet life, I'd wish for adventure. There's no use thinking about what could have been... we can only move forward with what we are now.
Aerith Aerith nodded and put the bowl down. "Thanks for the soup... you're going to have to show me around this new place of yours sometime." She yawned and lay her head down again. "For now... I think I'll take advantage of this comfy bed here... you don't mind, do you?"
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart shakes her head, and smiles "You rest as much as you need. You took alot during that fight too." She did as well, but she's tough. She stands up, taking the mepty bowl with her.
