No description.
Auron Manhattan.

That's a strange name. But this is not his own world. This is a piece of another world connected to Traverse. Much like what's left of his own world now. Much like many others. And if he can understand some of these other worlds, perhaps it would lead to understanding of that's happened. And possibly to the ability to help in undoing it.

He's not exactly the most inconspicuous man there. While he's not overly tall or muscular, he /does/ happen to be wearing a crimson overcoat with his left arm tucked in it. And if that wasn't enough to get the attention, there's a single-edged zweihander strapped to his back!

But at least he's staying out of the way. This moment finds him walking quietly down a sidewalk, the soft thud of his boots lost in the murmur of the crowds. He dodges passersby without much difficulty, ignoring the strange looks he's getting. At least the sword is /sheathed/ right now, so as weird as it looks, he obviously has no intent to cause trouble.
Deelel Deelel is lost in a strange world, she can't even start to understand. It's a dirty world of light and chaos. She ca't understand it very well and she's been in hiding for a number of days. Yet now she's in pain, a strange pain from her midsection and she needs energy. Where's she going to find such in a world like this? That's the question, she looks a bit strange but not quite as strange as Auron does though the tattoos on her arm might catch his notice.

"Why does it hurt... unnnn. I need energy...."
Auron Auron doesn't seem to be paying attention to what's going on around him. But when the quiet words of pain sound, he pauses. Somehow he seems to have a presence that makes people go around him, even when he stops walking. He will stop somewhere vaguely in front of the person who spoke. He won't face her, but instead turn so that she's more on his right than in front of him, and then turn his head to regard her. He's missing an eye on that side, so he'll need to turn more to see her.

And for a moment he'll do just that. Regard her. Silently. As if sizing her up. After a few moments -- which might pass as as awkward silence from her perspective -- he speaks up. "...Are you all right." The tone makes it hard to tell if it's a question or not. However, the tone is soft, not at all harsh.
Deelel Deelel doesn't seem to be all right she's holding her midsection still. She looks up at the strange man for a moment and shakes her head. "My mid section it hurts it's been hurting for an entire cycle and I don't know why..." she tries to find something to steady herself on. "This ... place makes no sense..."
Auron Ah-ha. So this is not her world either? At least, Auron can make that assumption, given how she speaks. If her stomach hurts, though, and has been hurting for a while -- however long a 'cycle' is -- well, the first thing that comes to mind is, could she be hungry?

"...When was the last time you ate?" he inquires, turning to face her properly. This is one of the things he doesn't have to worry with himself, but he always made sure Yuna and the rest of her Guardians took care of themselves. Perhaps it's a simple problem.
Deelel Deelel looks at auron for a moment and says "I'm sorry but I don't understand what do you mean by ate?" She looks honestly confused about what's going on. She's not well hostile just very lost. Who knows what sort of world she's from. "I need to find energy but I may also be have data damage..."
Auron Auron is confused too. Though it's only evidenced by the brow of Auron's remaining eye rises slightly. She doesn't /know/ what eating is? He remains silent a moment, regarding her again, trying to gain what information he can from her appearance. Whatever he might be thinking, it's not readable in his expression.

"...Where are you from?" he inquires. Perhaps if he finds that out, he'll be able to figure out what she needs. If she doesn't know what eating is, it's reasonably to assume she requires sustenance some other way. Now to figure out how....
Deelel Deelel is prehaps too trusting or more prehaps she's desperat for all she knows she's slowly dying after all. "Where am I from I'm from the Encom Mainframe...what system is this. It's so strange so chaotic nothing makes sense here." She looks at Auron pleedingling praying to the users he even has a few answers for her. She's got no idea that Auron actually /is/ one by the Program understanding of the concept.
Auron Mainframe? System? Auron frowns slightly, though not in anger. In confusion. That must be a strange world this woman is from. But he remembers something. He's heard the word 'mainframe' before. But only in one place.

Dream Zanarkand.

'Mainframe'... that was a large computer, wasn't it? So, she worked with machina? But then... even the Al Bhed knew what 'eating' was. And the people in Dream Zanarkand do indeed have to eat, just like normal human beings. So maybe she wasn't from there, either.

He can at least offer information, though! "...You were probably displaced from your world. /This/ world is 'Manhattan'." His tone suggests unfamiliarity with the place himself. However, as he says the next, his tone is flat and unrepentant, with a note of cruel truth to it. "...Your world may be one of the many that were shattered."

And then he asks a question of his own. "...When you say you are 'from' the mainframe. What do you mean?" This may shed some light on the subject of what she needs to fortify herself, as well.
Deelel Deeleltakes in the information for a moment as she tries to staggler herself up upon a tree. She looks at him for a moment and nods. "So this is Manhattan I understand." She seems to pick up on thing and then blinks "No it wasn't, it was under the rule of a terror that has been enslaving everything. I found a way out to get to another system and try to find help to stop him...Where I'm from?" She blinks this is like a sky is blue here question, for her. "It's what I mean i'm from the Encom Mainframe. I'm a multi Media editing program...Oh! My ID it's Deelel."
Auron "...."

Auron pauses, looking at her with that brow arched, silent for a moment. He's hardly believing what she's telling him. At least, if he's hearing her right. He knows what a 'program' is, make no mistake. There were computers in Dream Zanarkand, after all. But still....

She's a program?

"...You are... from /inside/ a computer?" he inquires. There's no trace of disbelief in his voice. But that's because he's keeping his voice carefully controlled. Well, that certainly brings a whole new aspect to the search for something to still her stomach pains....
Deelel Deelel says "What do you mean inside? Yes I'm from a system like every other basic would be..." She's not grasped just where she is. She looks at him. "Where else would I be from. Well I guess Users exist outside the system but I'll be glitched to even guess what their existance is like. They made us that's enough for me..."
Auron Auron lets a long moment pass before that eye closes, and he slowly shakes his head. And then? He chuckles slightly. This... is funny. It really is. In a sad, ironic sort of way. Seems this poor program has been displaced from her computer system and has no idea she's ended up in a 'real' world.

...Would she even believe it if he told her? It's not as though he could prove it himself -- he doesn't bleed either, and he's not a living being anymore. Well, before that. She's weakening, so that needs to be addressed first.

"...If you're a 'program', then you need energy," he reasons. "Likely because you've been displaced from your world. Your world may provide for your needs while you're there by you just existing within its confines." A pause, and he turns to look out at 'Manhattan' at large. "...But. It may be difficult to find a source in this world...."
Deelel Deelel looks at Auron for a moment tilting her head a little bit. "Yes, I do. I mean we would mine for it or otherwise generate it but ... I not been able to find any sources of it here that I could figure out. Then I'm in trouble and I may be croupted this pain, I wonder if it's a side effect of what brought me here." There's a very loud stomach growl so loud Auron can hear it and she wonders wait is he from some system him self?
Auron Listening to the explanation, Auron pauses. Hm. how to figure this out? Likely the 'energy' she needs is electrical. But grabbing hold of a live wire is probably not a good idea. Is there really any way for him to help her with that? Well, he can do one thing, at least. "...I doubt you've been corrupted," he assures her. "Probably just you need energy." But how to get it to her?

Suddenly an idea strikes him. A rather obvious one. He doesn't know if it'll work or not, but it might be worth it to at least /try/ for. He has a bit of extra gil. Er, rather, 'munny' -- he's never going to get used to calling it that -- to spare. And it might help her out.

Auron looks to her. "...Do you want help?" In finding energy, of course. But his speaking style is terse and quite short.
Deelel Deelel looks at Auron for a moment, and if he brought that up. That would be folly for her, it would kill her after all. She'd over load. "Really and yes I do. I need to recharge it's pretty bad here." She frowns. "I left everyone behind for this...I was suposed to get help so yes. Please I'll try to make it up to you..."
Auron Fortunately Auron's not going to bring that up. Instead of mentioning anything that stupid -- because yeah, he's pretty sure that wouldn't work anyway -- he nods once to her answer. And then requests, "...Let's go." And if she seems intent on it? He'll start heading down the street, back to dodging people. Except this time, he's looking for something, as his head turns as he scans his surroundings.
Deelel Deelel follows along as best she can, the Program girl seems to be weak but she pauses for a moment looking at some of the buildings. "There's still beatuy int his world at least...I never even envisoned anything like this..." She comments as she follows trying to avoid people as well.
Auron Auron says nothing to the comment, but he does nod, and offers a quiet affirmative grunt, just loud enough to be heard. He looks around for a moment, then pause, stopping his travel. Apparently not finding what he's looking for, he frowns. And he looks up, stopping a passerby. "...Excuse me. Where might I find a shop?"

"What kinna shop?" the passerby inquires.

A pause, and Auron thinks a moment. "...An electronics shop." The passerby points at a nearby store, and Auron turns to look at it briefly. Then he nods. "...Thank you." A moment later, he tilts his head again, to look at the girl following him, to make sure she still /is/ following. If she still is? He heads towards that store.
Deelel Deelel follows along her stomach growling every once and a while as she follows. She wonders what Auron's up to asking about electronics she at least seems to know what that concept is as she follows. "You have an idea?"
Auron Auron nods, once. "An idea, yes." Meaning he's not sure this is going to work. But he has no better plans, so he'll go with this one. He'll lead the poor program to that store, but he'll pause at the door. "...Maybe you should stay here until I return. I'll only be a moment." He has no idea how she's going to react to the sight of the computers inside.
Deelel Deelel will stay behind and wait for Auron it might be best to save energy really. She was so worn out and even shutting down to defrag didn't work too well other than leave her in the open. She sits down pulls her knees up to her chest and waits.
Auron As he notes that the girl seems willing to stay there, he nods once, and enters the store. And he pauses as the door closes behind him. It's a bigger shop than he'd expected, and it takes some roaming down the aisles before he finds what he's looking for but nonetheless, he does find them. And what's he looking for?

Batteries.

They have electrical energy in them. They run electronic devices. Perhaps they'll be able to sustain her for a while, at least? He picks up a couple of 8-packs of batteries and bring his purchases to the counter.

However, pauses again when he goes for his gil. It's changed again. Slips of paper? Well, at least they're marked with the denomination. He pays the requested amount -- a little more, since he doesn't have exactly the amount required -- and is rewarded with a few slips of paper with smaller denominations and a handful of coins. With a nod to the cashier's good day wishes, he accepts the bagged purchases and exits.

And when he exits? He'll head for an alley. Or somewhere the girl won't be seen, however she has to draw the energy from the batteries. "...Here," he notes as he heads into that secluded space.
Deelel Deelel is waiting as they return of Auron not aware of his plan untill he arrives she pauses at the power cells for a moment. "Power cells?" she's not stupid she seems to be able to read the packaging and ponders "I'm not sure something that runs a device might work but lets see if something works. Though drinking it in liquid form... err." She pauses tries to take a bite of one and OW also a shock
Auron Auron will assist in removing the batteries from their packaging, and offering one to Deelel. However, as she tries to take a bite from the battery he smirks. Still, he can see that doesn't work. "...Try holding one in your hand. Put your fingers on either end. And concentrate. On /slowly/ drawing the energy out." Meditation always restored his energy when he was younger -- and living! Perhaps something similar would work for drawing the energy out of a battery?
Deelel Deelel nods once to Auron she holds it in her hand trying to focus for a moment and on each end. She feels a buzz as she does so, and pauses looking down at it. She closes her eyes and tries to focus on the battery she does realise there is power in there but why is it so inconcient then again this appear to be made for equipment rather than program use.
Auron Auron waits, to see if anything works. When she opens her eyes again, the brow of his visible eye raises, and he tries to assess her condition. "...Any change?" he inquires. He hopes so. There's no way of knowing, though. He's not sure what else to do if that doesn't work.

Well, he does have one more idea that might possibly work, but it's a stretch. For right now, he's going to see if the batteries worked. And hope they did....
Deelel Deelel says "Not really these are power cells but well the form I'd consume is liquid." She says tilting her head a little bit and trying again but still nothing for now as she looks a little miffed also there's that rumble from stomach? again.
Auron Hm. No good. Auron frowns. She needs help, and there's not a lot he can do for her.

...Like everyone else that's ever needed his help.

Something shows as a flicker of annoyance in Auron's expression. But it's gone before it can really be any more than registered. "...There... may be another way." A pause. "...If it doesn't work, I'd advise you to find your way to Traverse Town. You may find someone there who can help you." Not openly inviting, but he won't refuse if she wants to go back with him.

But back to his other idea. "...Do you want to try again?"
Deelel Deelel tries again but gets no look she looks up at him and tilts her head wondering for a moment. "I know one thing users do exist outside ths system but ... could I even?" She shakes her head a little bit. "Well might as well try something it beats slowly running out of energy and Derezzing, I come to far to be deleted now..."
Auron Auron pauses, considering her statement. And also considering a few other things. He's seen evidence of how things change when entering other worlds. Most notably his currency -- it's gil in Luca. Munny in Traverse. And those strange slips of paper here. She's a program, yes. But she's /here/, now. And she looks relatively solid. He assumes that if she hadn't changed somewhat, she wouldn't be solid enough to even /exist/, being only a mass of data. So perhaps it's changed her enough that she can eat normally?

Her statement seems to indicate that she's thinking that. And he smirks slightly. "...Nothing to lose, is there?" he notes, a hint of grim humor in his voice. So, that decided, he moves back out where the main street is. Hopefully she'll be following. Now, he just needs to follow his nose, and....
Deelel Deelel is just heading along with Auron now as she gets up. She's got no idea after all the nature of the world she came from and the one she's in are alien but connected very deeply in a way no one on either side of the world wall knows. At least not yet she'll follow after him as she pauses for a moment looking around. "So what is your function if I might ask. I already told you mine..."
Auron Auron is probably not going to help Deelel understand where she is with his response to her question. "...A Guardian," he states simply. A moment later he tilts his head up, nostils flaring briefly as he takes in the scents of the place around him. Ugh. Asphalt and smog. Not pleasant. But underneath that, there's something else. Something decidedly more pleasant. And he heads towards it. It's a hot dog cart. Hopefully that will work....
Deelel Deelel pauses and stares, the poor man doesn't realise the conntations to the program. "Wait wait your system defence then?!" Can she have been this lucky? Poor Auron may be roped into helping and world so alien it's existance and it's people would be the most foul of hersay. Just for existing. She caughs a bit at the air and blinks "What...I don't even know my own body anymore...did the process reformat me somehow." She pauses as they pass a hot dog cart, suddenly she's over powered by an urge as she passes and looks right at one of the hot dogs. She'll reach out to grab it without thinking. She's clearly starving.
Auron 'System defense'? Auron raises a brow. "...Not exactly." Though he supposed he technically used to be. Not now, though. But whatever the case, he doesn't seem to be eager to talk about it. To the noting of the girl not knowing her own body? "...These worlds change others who come into them from outside," he observes. "...This world impressed upon you a change it felt would be more convenient for you." At least, he reasons so -- because even /he/ has noticed differences in himself physically since coming here.
Deelel Deelel says "Mend and defend all the same I hope we may need to talk later. However I want these." She's reaching out for the food, Auron might want to pay for it as she's just devouring the hotdog and it's bun without wonton abaondon not really thinking about it. Yup she's stuffing her face like a starving person. Well she kinda is
Auron The sudden inhalation of the hot dog draws a small smirk, and Auron shakes his head ruefully. He'll get out the money to pay for it, don't worry. And he'll explain to the likely surprised vendor, "...I apologize. She hasn't eaten for a couple of days." At least, that's what he assumes a 'cycle' is.

"Ah, understood," the vendor notes. "If that's the case, you may want to buy her another!" Have to get in the opportunity it make as much money as possible, after all!

With another shake of his head, this time more sharply, Auron replies, "...Wait." If she's still hungry after that one, he'll get her another.

"Well, how about yourself?" the vendor inquires.

Auron shakes his head. "...No. Thank you." His voice is quiet but his tone brooks no argument. He'll look to Deelel. "...Does that help?"
Deelel Deelel is lost in alien senstation sure energy could be flavoured and such to the point this was enjoyable but this has texture and it's alien to her. Still she's seemingly happy she devours the first dog and moves on to the second. "Yes I'll have another!" She seems a little lost in this eating thing.
Auron The second gets paid for, and Auron counts his blessings that he was wise enough to continue trying to procure funds for his stay in these conjoined worlds. He may need them here. He'll help where he can, though. And he should have enough to cover it all. At least he's /actually helping/ someone. For the time being he remains quiet, re-tucking his left arm in his coat and tucking the fingers of that tucked arm into the wide belt he wears.
Deelel Deelel is eating like a fiend that's got into a pack of towns folk. She just keeps going as she goes for a third really. She's well finally slowing down as the hunger finally is starting to abate and she's starting to look a little better now. Then she's looking kinda of embrassed with how she basically pigged out.
Auron Auron ponies up for the third one, too. It's going to take a bite out of his budget, but he's glad it looks to be helping. "...Geez," the hot dog vender notes. He sidelongs to Auron, "How long you say it's been since she ate?"

"...A couple of days," Auron replies. At least, he can assume. He's not sure. And he can't really ask until they're away from the vendor, since that information is not for denizens of this world to know....
Deelel Deelel nods once as she's catching on to how alien this strange bright world is. She's froma world of darknes swherre the people were things of light. Where this is world of light almost and darkness depending on the time of day. The day night cycle is still an oddity she bows a little bit at the vendor. "Thank you very much."
Auron The vendor smiles, and shrugs a little. "Hey, this is what I do," he states, with a very distinct New York accent. "Every day. It's my job."

"...For a price," Auron replies.

"Hey, you can't get somethin' for nothin'," he vendor replies. Auron doesn't respond verbally. Instead he smirks, adjusting his collar as he chuckles. "So. How 'bout that hot dog, buddy?"

"...No. Thank you." He looks to her, and then turns, taking a few steps away from the vendor's cart. Then he pauses and looks to her again. He's asking if she'll be following. She did sound as though she had something to talk to him about....
Deelel Deelel has already eaten enough for both and is looking much happier now that she's figured out this eating thing and also she can think more early now. She'll heads off a bit moving to head with Auron. "So as you said eariler your a Guardian right, so still the basic concept of mend and defend applies to your job at least u hope so..."
Auron 'Mend and defend'? That prompts a chuckle from Auron. Well, really the sound is more an amused 'hn' than a full-on chuckle. "...You could say that." He /is/ trying to 'mend' a situation. And he is trying to 'defend' the people he needs to help him fix it. "...Why?" He's continuing to walk, too, so they shouldn't be overheard.
Deelel Deelel says "My system has come under control of a tyrant, he's cut off very I/O tower and prevented every program from attempting to even contact our users for orders. Worse than that his cheif thug have been roundeing up programs who belive in Users and forcing us to either recant, derezing us on the spot or forcing us into games to the deletion."
Auron Auron pauses then, stopping in place immediately. And then he turned to look at her over his shoulder. He didn't hate machina like he used to when he was younger. But... he didn't know a thing about computers! So, sadly, a good bit of what she said went over his head. He understood that her world had a tyrant in charge of it, that's about all. But the rest... 'Eye-yo tower'? 'Dee rez'? He at least understood the deletion part -- if she was a program, she didn't die like a human, but she could suffer deletion.

"...Some of the terms you're using, I'm not famliar with. The technology level of my world was lower. Even than this one." He pauses, looking around at their surroundings, at the city around them. "...We had few machina." Pause. "...Machines," he corrects himself.
Deelel Deelel is a ghost int he machina, the maesters would have kittens over her people's existance. "Wait but that's pretty much basic things." She tilts her head for a moment and then something clicks for a momehnt the final thing MCP said to her as she escaped the Encom mainframe. "Machines yes I know...what machines are..." She trails off and stares something clicking in her mind. "Wait a nanocycle...Did that digitization laser take me to ...the system USERS EXIST IN and that would make you a us...." She's alreayd on the ground bowing in shock awe and she's kinda overwhelemed.
Auron A flicker of irritation flits across Auron's face, and he frowns darkly. "Stop that," he grouses softly. Here -- finally, for the first time in the short time that Deelel had known Auron -- there's actually some emotion in his tone.

He's clearly irritated.

He'll reach down and try to grab hold of her arm to pull her up. Gently, mind you. "You're attracting attention." And that's the last thing he wants right now. Really any time, but especially not right now. "...All this is unnecessary."
Deelel Deelel is now very confused and realising just what she's done in her desperation to find a way to fight back against MCP. She's not ment to irritated Auron she was just awestuck realising where she was. She's pulled up easily enough she doesn't fight it and she looks embrassed, very embrassed. "I just I ..."
Auron The irritation passes soon enough once Deelel's on her feet, and he immediately releases her once she's standing of her own power. "...Come on." He'll walk a little distance down the street, ignoring the snickering around him. And then he'll find another alley to duck into. Whatever this is, it sounds like something that other people don't need to know. Before he does, however, he'll look back, to make sure she's following him.
Deelel Deelel follows along keeping pace looking wide eyed at eveything now shaking her head. This was an alien world the world that those who made her kind existed in and she starts to realise a few other things but she pushes those thoughts down. "I'm coming!"
Auron Auron waits until Deelel has entered the alley, and then walks down a short distance, so they're out of sight -- and more importantly, EARSHOT! -- of anyone who might be walking past. As he waits for her to join him, he realizes something. "...Do you have a name?" His tone is not at all nasty or rude. He's completely serious -- he doesn't know that programs actually /have/ names....
Deelel Deelel pauses for a moment "I already gave you my ID It's Deelel." Prounced like the file extention not that Auron would likely know that. She tilts her head. "It's a silly thing to not have a name..."
Auron ID? Oh. That might be what they call a name where she's from. It sounds appropriate, if she's from a computer world. Then again, this could all be an elaborate hoax. But then, the things he's seen since ending up in these conjoined worlds so far have been even more strange.

But. Now that she knows she's not in a computer anymore, Auron can ask his questions, ask for more clarification. "...You mentioned a tyrant. Explain to me again, as you would explain to a human."
Deelel Deelel says, "Human err you mean User right? The master control program has been interferaing with the system running as intended. It's serve, recant belive in users existing or be purged." She looks right at him. "You want more I'll want your name at the very least I think calling you a hey you is rather rude."
Auron Sounds like a typical tyrant, from her description. However, the comment about his name draws a smirk, and an amused 'hn'. He closes his remaining eye for a moment. Then the traces of grim mirth disappear from his face, and he opens that eye, focusing on Deelel again. He offers simply, "...Auron."
Deelel Deelel says "Thank you Auron." She contiunes "There's also rumors he's consuming other programs to gain their functions and clerances s well. I can't confirm that. I can confirm I was in the gaming grid fighting to the death against Sark's guard or even ... others like myself. I ran into a strange program who told me of a possible way out of the system to another. I thought I could find help it's better than being a null unit and trying to derezz something like MCP alone. I found it but MCP found me and ... he ... oh my User. He used it to ... see if I'd surive in this world or be deleted instantly...."
Auron Auron listens, remaining quiet as Deelel explains what's going on. Something immediately comes to mind as she explains how she got into this world. "...If /this/ world was where you were sent, then this MCP has a connection to this world." A pause, and he voices the second thing that came to mind immediately. "...Does the MCP have a way to track you?"
Deelel Deelel says "Yes, he was connected to the ruins I accessed the digitization laer in. I still am holding the place I came into this wold I been taken shelder there. There's a lot of inactive hardware there and I found a spot to rest." She's basically camped out in Flynn's old Arcade. "Directly here I doubt it. I was disposiable to him a test to see if he'd surive the transition."
Auron "If that's where you showed up, it's likely MCP has ways to keep track of you there," Auron points out. A pause. He allows a moment of silence to go by. "...My experience is not with computers. I do not know how I can help you. But." He nods. "...I know of a place where you may be able to find help. The worlds have been... shattered. And cobbled together. With a place called 'Traverse Town' as their center. That was where I found myself when my world shattered. That seems to be a... meeting place. You might find some help there."

A pause. "...I'm planning on going back there. Traveling between worlds is not new to me. But it might be new to you. I'll guide you there. You should be able to return here when you want to." Pause, smirk. "...And hopefully bring others to help you.
Deelel Deelel says "Humm that's strange I didn't think anything could." she shakes her head "It seems up is down and short it long." She seems to ahve a sense of humor about it at least. She nods once "I'd be thankful for that Auron. Well I need to start somewhere I don't I but ... this world is something I never thought anything like it was possible..."
Auron Auron nods. "...Traveling in these worlds tends to give one that feeling," he replies. That smirk remains on his face for a moment more. Apparently he has a sense of humor about it, too... even if it's a snarky one. "You'll also need to find work there, to keep yourself fed and sheltered. There's an inn there. It may be trying. But it may be your only hope."

A pause. "...Are you ready to go?"
Deelel Deelel says "I'm ready as I'll ever be. Let us depart then shall we. I may want to secure that place were the laser is though. At least find a way to keep alert of goings on there. hummm I'll figure out something but let's go."
Auron Auron nods once, and turns towards the entrance to the alley they'd walked into. He doesn't ask if she's following him, or request that she do so. He merely turns, looks once at her to make sure she's following, and then makes for the main street again. If she chooses to follow or not, he's heading back to Traverse....
