Verianna It was obvious that Verianna wasn't kidding about needing some rest. The girl had been in her room for 2 whole days sleeping like a log. She only now started to wake up, her surroundings unfamiliar to her at first upon rising but then became clear as she remembered where she was. Veri hopped out of her bed and came down into the bar stretching and yawning heavily, her eyes still a little droopy. At seeing the familiar faces, she smiles and waves. "Good morning! Or... whatever time of day it is."
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart was behind the counter, readying the day's meals for the tenants. Having an inn sure makes a badmaid more busy, but the extra money and smiles is nice too. She's hmming merrily, working at the stove, preparing what seems to be dinner at this time. Its pastas along with a chicken sauce, nothing too fancy, but dinner isn't supposed to be a heavy meal.

She smiles to the little wind princess (even ifs he doesn't know about that yet really) "Hi there, slept well I hope." Of course, after 2 days, she'd hope so!
Aerith "Morning?" A woman with light brown hair chuckled. "Well it's close enough, you can't tell day from night in this city." She sat near the bar, her denim jacket removed from her shoulders for the time being. She didn't ask how the rest was, it'd be more than redundant. "So then, what did you think of the room upstairs?"
Verianna Verianna giggles a bit to herself at waking up so late but knew she needed the rest. She wanders over to sit beside Aerith and grins at her while giving Tifa a wave. "I did sleep VERY well, thank you. The room was very nice and cozy, not too warm or too cool. Thank you again for letting me stay here to rest up." She turns to Tifa and crosses her arms on the table as she sighs. "I did have quite the dream though, and not a good one. You see, I'm a Princess of a far off land called Mythannor and am also what is referred to as a Wind Walker." She looks down at the table and fidgets a bit as she speaks. "We Wind Walkers have a unique ability to speak to the wind and air and bond with it allowing us to use it as we see fit in either combat or in healing and flight. The thing is... ever since arriving here, I... no longer have my powers." She sighs heavily and shakes her head. "It's almost as if the wind here doesn't want to talk to me and I don't know why. Do my powers are non-existant."
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart shakes her head, offering a plate of the pastas and chicken sauce to the girl with a smile "Well I can't say I know much about that, nor I can help, but I wouldn't worry too much. Everything is odd in this new world." She thumbs toward Aerith "Ask our world-speaker girl here. She can hear voices after all. After the whole world merge I don't think everything was normal with her at first, but you get used to things. Hey, maybe she can help you understand the wind here too, who knows."
Aerith Aerith glanced toward Verianna for a moment, wondering if this had anything to do with the... other incident. Best to explain a bit better than Tifa did... "There's a similar problem with me. I'm sure you haven't heard of the lifestream, but... I can hear voices because of of it. They tell me certain things, like when danger's close or how someone's feeling, or whether someone's sick or injured. Imbalances like that. Ever since my world fell though..." She grimaced. "It's been difficult to do. Not impossible, just much, much harder than it should be. The flow of souls was just about eaten by the Heartless, and because of that, well... my senses aren't as keen as they could be."
Verianna Verianna blinks over as Aerith speaks and listens closely. This does seem to be a bit odd that something like her own dilemma would happen to someone else. "I see. Wow, I'm very sorry to hear that, Aerith. I hope that you regain them soon." She places a hand on Aerith's shoulder and then turns to see Tifa deliver her food. "Oh, my goodness! Thank you Tifa, I am indeed quite hungry." She turns and begins to eat a bit but stops every so often to speak to Aerith. "So, you believe that it's this place that is causing the problem then. Well, maybe we both need to find out what's going on and get to the bottom of this so we can get our powers back. I know I definitely feel uncomfortable without them."
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart slides up a glass of fruit juice over to Veri afterwards, smiling as she turns around to start cleaning up the area. Noone else wants to eat for now it seems, but she's ready if so. "This world is just out of synch with everything we used to know, not surprising really. Everyone went through some adaptation, one way or another. Even this city is not quite like we remember it in our world.
Aerith Aerith sighed. "You want me to be honest, all I'm concerned about is getting the world back that was lost. If this World Heart is lost, I don't want to be here when it happens." If her abilities were any indication, the outcry of souls would damn near kill her.
Verianna Verianna had the fork up to her mouth as Aerith said this and turns to her. "World Heart? So this world was actually your world before all of this... evil came?" She's trying to piece everything together and make sense of what has happened. She sets her fork down and dabs her mouth with a napkin as she looks at Aerith.
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart nods "Manhattan." She puts glasses up in the cupboard. "We were both there. Its literally what you could define as the end of the world. The world just... shuts off, lost to darkness, people trapped inside, we don't know exactly. But we've all been working into recovering it. The world is not entirely lost, just 'paused'."
Aerith Aerith says, "The only thing keeping it from being completely lost is someone only known as a Princess of Heart... and we have no idea who it is." Aerith sighed. "If we did know, I don't think it'd be such a good thing either. Because if we knew, sooner or later someone else would that shouldn't." She turned toward Verianna. "Listen... I'm not sure how I can help, but we'll find a way together. Okay?""
Verianna Verianna blinks a few times at Aerith as she speaks, feeling for the poor girl. She knows what loss feels like though she can't imagine what Aerith and the others have been through here. Veri leans in when Aerith looks at her and hugs her gently. "Yes, we will. Thank you Aerith. I know we can do it." She is always the optimist even in the darkest of times.
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart smiles at Veri. Well, that's certainly an upbeat girl. Need more of those around here, really. Theres enough reasons around to just let yourself be depressed if you wanted to.

"So you speak with the wind? I'm guessing you were doing it naturally before, but it doesn't work now, did you try to concentrate maybe? Find a very windy place to try to communicate again or something?" She hms "Wasn't the crystal of wind in Tycoon?"
Verianna Verianna looks to Tifa after she takes another bite and sips her drink. "I suppose I could try different places and see if that helps, but normally it shouldn't matter where I am. It's just... strange. But I will try that Tifa, thank you." She finishes her meal and gets up to bring the plate and cup back to the sink for Tifa. "Thank you again for the wonderful meal." She gives the barmaid a hug.
Aerith Aerith glanced over at the food Tifa had made. "Y'know, I'm kinda hungry... Tifa, could I have some of what she has?" She smiled toward Verianna. "And don't worry about the food. Any time you need a place to hang out, just come back here."
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart smiles and leans to hug the girl, patting her on the head "There's nothing to it." She smiles, and moves over to get Aerith her own plate ready quickly. She takes the empty plates as well, putting them aside for washing. "We're about to open a new branch in Traverse, you know."
Verianna Verianna grins up at Tifa and then nods over to Aerith as she heads to the bar door. "Thank you both very much for your hospitality. I'm going to go out and explore a bit, see if I can pick up anything around here with the wind. I'll see you both again soon!" She waves and heads out.
Aerith Aerith started to munch on her food as soon as it was delivered with a sigh. "I can cook, Tifa... but you can /cook/. Who taught you how, your mom?"
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart smiles "My mother died when I was young, so it was me and dad for the most part. I picked up helping in the house since he was so busy outside." She sighs a bit, leaning on her elbows on the countertop. "That and feeding my martial arts master, that was in return for the training, he was rooming with us. That's how he lived pretty much, going from one town to another, finding a disciple and exchanging it against lodging for a while.
Aerith Aerith nodded and braced her elbows against the counter. "You know... we're alike in that regard. Losing both our mothers at a young age..." She sighed. "I was lucky enough to get another one, but I wish I knew more about the original, you know?"
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart nods, patting your shoulder "Of course, I understand. I never got another mother myself, but I understand. Its just a matter of having someplace you can call 'home', someone that is there to care for you, no matter if blood related or not..." Tifa looks a bit sad at that too. She doesn't have a place to return to after all, this is pretty much her home now. "You said you could hear the dead people or something? Have you ever tried to... well, talk to her?
Aerith Aerith blinked for a moment, her mind cycling back toward the last time she'd talked to her birth mother. It... wasn't that long ago, actually. She smiled and lowered her head, eyes seemingly fixed on her plate of food. "Once."
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart smiles "Well that's once more than I can. I can barely remember mine, I was rather young, but I'll keep what little memories I have preciously. Her warmth when she was there."
Aerith Aerith nodded. "Y'know... I bet if I researched enough into it, I could make it so you could speak to yours too, if only for a bit." She smiled. "I mean, we're friends, right? What better way to be a friend than that?"
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart thinks about that for a moment... and then shakes her head "No need." She stands up, moving to start on the dishes "I don't know what I'd tell her. Hi mom, how is it being dead? Cool. No, I'm not ready to go meet your new boyfriend just yet. Yes, I'm a terrible daughter for not wanting to die yet. I'll bring your favorite jack daniels when I get there, promise." She kids of course, giggling a bit "No, I just going to leave her to rest. I guess she's happy as long as I am, don't you think?"
Aerith Aerith giggled as well. "That would be a pretty awkward conversation, wouldn't it?" Hers was by a mile. She hadn't told Tifa everything that happened, after all. "Still, it'd be nice to try, wouldn't it? Not for you of course, you already declined, but for someone that did want it..." She nodded. "I think it'd be worth it to look into it."
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart nods "I guess sometimes there are things you'd like to know. Something important. I already know all that matters, I'm sure she loved me and my dad. But I guess its not the same for everyone, maybe there's some crucial information that only the dead knows about."
Aerith Aerith smiled and started taking bites of her dish again. "Well then, I'll see what i can do about that... that is, if we have time of course." Oh yes, she fully intended to take Tifa along with her.
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart nods "Well it would be a useful kind of talent sometimes, you could even make a shop, talking with your deceased, find your hidden inheritance in shoeboxes." She grins
Aerith Aerith chuckled. "I'd rather use it for something a bit more important than that. Like, I dunno, hints to a murder mystery or something. Or revealing some important secret like you said." She shrugged. "Worse comes to worst, I could always use it to find out my ancestry."
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart giggles "I'm only being silly, but yes, there would be people interested in it I'm sure. And for important things too. Knowing who killed them, for example.
Aerith Aerith pushed away from the counter and hopped off of the bar stool. "Well while that's all good and well, we're still gonna need rest if we want to even think about starting this." She stretched her arms above her head and made her way to the upstairs rooms, hoping to at least get herself some hours of rest. "See you later, Tifa."
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart smiles "You rest up then, hm? Its still early, the people won't pour in for a few hours still." She's always early up to handle everything though.
