What Little Remains
(2012-12-20 - 2012-12-22)
Eight SWAT officers from the NYPD's Manhattan divison find themselves in unfamiliar territory, spit out by the Darkness, for they were not part of it. Their Sergeant discovers that they are the only ones left out of their group, and combined with the new scenery, this does not bode well.
Tony Newsson Darkness...

"Oh God, they're everywhere! Someone, anyone on this frequency, we need immediate backup! They're tearing through the streets like some kinda wolf pack!"

It's in every heart, some more than others. But there's one commonality about it that stands above the rest... it has a corrupting influence on those it touches.

"All elements, you are cleared tactical. They're not human anymore, take 'em out."

And those who do not have the strength of will to fight, or command it, are devoured by it. Until there is nothing left but an empty shell of one once was. Soulless, mindless.

Heartless.

"We're being overrun! They're about to break through, right into the station! All officers, fall back! Fall ba-"

Anthony gasped, his eyes opening in shock and sheer terror as the nightmare forced him awake. The next instant later, he groaned in pain as the world spun before him. His eyes closed yet again, and opened moments later, everything not so blurry anymore. He glanced to his left, his right... and sighed. Good... familiar sights. Others in uniform and tactical armor.

Tony stood, hurting in places he didn't even know he could hurt. That was either some fall, or he'd taken more hits than he'd like. "Squad, can you stand?" His voice sounded coarse, probably from all the shouting he'd done.

Several moments later, he got responses. One of them, a woman, was the first to answer. "Did you get the license plate of what hit us, Sergeant? Whatever it was, the driver damn sure forgot to back up and finish the job." She stood and rolled her neck, hair and eyes obscured by the ballistic helmet she wore. "Hey, sleepyheads! Stand up already!"

The others responded in time, and soon all of them were on their feet. Tony looked around... and frowned. "I count seven... including me, that's eight." So that meant... "Squad, radio and weapons check, now." He turned his gear on, and thank everything that was holy, it worked. "This is Sergeant Newsson, calling for radio check. All available units, respond."

His seven team members replied... and then for several minutes, nothing else.

"Shit... shit, shit, shit!" This was all that was left of them... but there was nothing to be helped for that, was there? "Squad, weapons cold, rally on me." He glanced around for a moment. "Let's find out just where the hell were are, shall we?"
Mercade Alexander You are in a maze of twisty passages, all alike.

No, wait, wrong script.... Oh, here we go.

The road goes ever onward, hanging between light and darkness. The road out of Traverse Town, so often seen by those who have managed to luckily find their way out of the Darkness when it has come for their worlds, can be taken as a metaphor by the more philisophically-minded.

Confusion may reign among the team for a moment. Perhaps suspicion. But at least nothing is attacking them at the moment. What they will notice, however, is a man in the distance, walking down the dusty road towards them. He is dressed in the manner of Manhattan, wearing a rumpled dress shirt and black pants, with a blue tie. He wears a worn leather trenchcoat, perhaps evoking imagery of a time long gone on Earth. His thin, hawkish features frame darting blue eyes, the chin stubbled from a day's worth of growth that has yet to be shaved, his hair mussed.

He doesn't speed up or slow down as he sees the men looking around. He does, however, stop when he reaches them. "Hello there." He smiles faintly. "It's good to see you all. You've been through a lot."
Tony Newsson And this was why he'd said weapons cold.

Tony nodded toward the man, who looked like a noir detective, stubble, shirt and all. But he talked like... like he knew what was going on, what'd happened. A sort-of bell sounded off in Anthony's head. "Do you know where we are, sir?"
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander appreciates not being shot at. Really!

He looks over the group. "Well, I've got some good news for you guys and some bad news." He removes a hand from a pocket, and pulls out a toothpick that was hanging from his mouth, gesturing with it to the tactical response team. "The good news is that you guys survived. You're not dead and you probably won't feel too many ill effects from whatever you had to go through to get here."

He sighs. "Well, the bad news is that Manhattan /didn't/ survive. Our world's gone, taken by the Heartless... And yes, I'm from Manhattan too. You guys are on the outskirts of a place called Traverse Town, a city that hangs between worlds. Come with me, all of you. We'll need to get you guys familiarized with how things work out here." He begins walking past them, down the road. "Come on, we can talk on the way. It's not far from here."
Tony Newsson So he was right. This guy did know what was going on, and in a sharp way too. Excellent, good news already. But...

Anthony blinked. "Wait... wait. /Gone/? As in..." Destroyed, totalled, no longer on the map? But... but how? Surely there were some pockets of resistance left against these... what'd he call them? Heartless? They damn sure moved like they had no hearts, that was for certain. He glanced back at his team. "Stick close and keep sight lines on all corners. Still in recon mode." They nodded and he turned back toward the man ahead of them. "Let's move."
Mercade Alexander Mercade walks on, leading the way. "This area is comparatively safe. You won't see Heartless much out here, and if you do, they're pretty weak. Nothing like what you guys already saw."

He gestures with the toothpick to accentuate his words. "Manhattan's gone as in vanished into the Darkness. You can't even go there anymore. There's nothing left. And if there's anyone left there alive..." Mercade trails off. "Well... I hope they find a way to win free." He looks over his shoulder, at the group, before back to the road. "The city should be right around this bend." He points, the lights of the night-bound town shining up into the sky. "You're more or less safe once you get inside. A lot of refugees from Manhattan are here too."
Tony Newsson Tony wonders what all that means, though from seeing what he'd been through, he had a guess. Hearing that the town was relatively safe made him feel somewhat better, and he took his finger off the trigger of the assault rifle slung across his right shoulder. The fact that there were survivors made it all the more imperative that they get to where this city was. But the most important part... was that he hadn't introduced himself yet.

This had to change, now. "Name's Anthony Newsson, Sergeant, NYPD." He gestured behind him. "This is my team... or rather, what's left of them. Camilla's my second in command until we find anyone else higher in rank." The woman from before took off her helmet, then the hood underneath, revealing light brown hair and blue eyes. "Pleasure, mister...?"
Mercade Alexander Mercade stops at the gates to the city, turning to Tony and flicking the toothpick to one side, letting it fall to the ground. "Alexander. Mercade Alexander, detective with the Twilight Detective Agency." He holds out a hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you all. The people of these worlds are going to need all the help we can get to stop the Heartless from destroying everything."
Tony Newsson Tony took his helmet and hood off as well, revealing black hair and steely, blue-gray eyes. He took Mercade's hand and shook it. "At least there's someone around here that knows the value of a good handshake." His smile was genuine, his eyes trusting. For now. "Well then, show us around. I'm sure there's plenty we could do for the survivors."
Mercade Alexander Mercade smiles in return. "I've been doing a lot of exploring since before the Fall." He explains. "I know a good deal of how things work. If you guys have any cash on you, you'll see it's changed into a pile of little golden orbs. They call it Munny. It's what they use here for currency. Things are a little crowded here right now, but you should be able to find lodging somewhere. Our Agency is holed up in the Hotel right now..." In a single room... "Until we can get set back up. If you need help with anything, you can stop by and ask for us. If you plan to leave town... You'll definately want some information on that."
Tony Newsson Well they had quite the stroke of luck. There was a hotel nearby, that was good. They could stay there... but then again, this detective and his agency was there too. He wouldn't want to intrude. "Hope they still have room for us, because that's probably where we'll hole up too. Camilla, make it happen as soon as we're there." She nodded. "Copy that, Sarge."
Mercade Alexander "You're going to have a lot to get used to." Nercade says, as he gestures to the city itself. "For one, magic exists. Like, real, honest to God 'I can throw fireballs' magic. So watch out for that. If you take a right down there, you'll hit a big plaza. That's where Hearts Intertwined is setting up an itinerant camp for people who escaped, they're working on making more permanent shelters on Phantasia Mountain and looking for places for people to go and live elsewhere in other worlds. Immigration can be a bitch sometimes." He taps his foot for a moment. "At least you can still get some pizza if you know where to ask."
Tony Newsson Magic... okay, that's new. They'd have to compensate for that somehow. But for now, he showed them around, and Tony didn't even have to say how grateful he was for it. Hearts Intertwined sounded like some charity organization, which was good news to hear. Meant people still had decency.

Then there was talk of other worlds... and it almost made him stop in his tracks. But only for a moment. He'd have to really ask about that later. "This is a bit much to take in, but I'm glad there's still some pizza around here." Normalcy was important when one was thrust into the abnormal. "You said there was a hotel around here?"
Tifa Lockhart The Seventh Heaven barmaid hops out of the portal, careful of the landing or anyone/anything in the vicinity of it. Since these portals are not see-through, its a valid concern usually. But most people are smart enough to stand clear of them too, so it works out.

She looks back at the portal, and slides a hand through her hair, just pushing it back a bit as she walks away from the portal, looking around. Its always night here, a bit like Midgar was. At least this place is alot more lively, its not for the same reasons that its dark.

She walks along the road toward town. A spot of shopping and area checking, the barmaid always makes sure her inventory is kept full for the customers after all.
Deidra It's a town of endless night, this isn't a bad thing for one of the other species from Manhattan, that being Gargyoles for examole. Deidra's just out for flight but she soes see well? Mercade below and someone else. Tony's about to be in for another suprise. For a winged tailed and taloned creature that's suprisingly close to a human in terms of build is comming in for a landing. "Oh hey Mercade." She seems to know him and she looks over to Tony. "Umm Hi!"
Tony Newsson Anthony peers over at the woman... who wasn't exactly a woman. In fact, she was more like a monster. What threw him off though was her cheery disposition, and that made him raise his right hand to stop anyone else from trying to shoot her. It wasn't really good etiquette to just open fire on someone because they looked strange.

Sure enough, a few had reached for their weapons, but they stood down after being given the single command to do so. "Evening, miss... you uh... you okay there?" He didn't quite know how to ask the obvious question of what she was.
Mercade Alexander Mercade nods. "Yeah, there's a hotel here. It's right across the way there. Also, there's a guy named Cid. He does some crazy stuff with manufacturing. Uses materials I've never seen before. If you can get your hands on some of them, maybe he can give you guys some equipment upgrades."

Deidra shows up. "Hey Deidra!" He looks to Tony. "This is what I mean by having things to get used to. Tony, everyone, this is Deidra. She's a Gargoyle." He smiles. "She's a good friend and also a member of the Agency."

Tifa shows up as well, and Mercade waves. "Hey! Tifa! How's it going?" He calls. "We found some more refugees from Manhattan. This is Tony. Tony, this is Tifa, she owns a bar in one of those other worlds I mentioned. Seventh Heaven, great place."
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart smiles and waves to Mercade as she walks over. She was heading in that direction after all. She waves to the newcomer and Deidra as well "What's going on here?" She silts her head, looking at each of them in turn. She nods to Mercade "Oh, well help everything's going with you then, its nothing to make light of, with the situation in Manhattan right now. We're not giving up on it though.
Deidra Deidra looks at the police and nods a liitlte bit as they don't go for their weapons. She looks Tony and his people over for a moment give him a nod and grins. "Sorry we kinda have that effect on people at times. It's good to meet you." She gives a look over to Tifa and says "Oh hello Tifa." She looks back to Tony "Don't worry about it. You didn't shoot at me I'll take that as a good first impression."
Tony Newsson Tony glanced at his team members, and some of them had raised eyebrows. Camilla simply looked toward Deidra with a nod, her features blank for the time being. He turned back toward Deidra. "Who exactly are... you? And there are others like you?" First time he'd heard of it. Now it wasn't like he was ignoring Tifa, he was just focused on Deidra. Another one of the officers noticed the... quite beautiful... barmaid, and couldn't stop staring. "Holy crap, man... If this is a dream, remind me to get knocked the hell out more often."

Tony barked without looking back. "Can it, Stephens! Show some respect."
Mercade Alexander Mercade just smiles slightly. "Just showing some new people around. They're from Manhattan, like I said." He answers Tifa. "What brings you to Traverse! This is a ways from Goug."
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart smiles at Tony, leaning forward a little, hands in her back "Well come back to earth, you're not asleep nor dead or anything the like." She's used to being flirted with of course, its her job. She's not sure who he's barking to shut up though...

"You don't have to worry about Deidra, she's nice, despite her appearance." She smiles, looking over to Mercade "Oh, came for some shopping. Just making sure I keep a full stock. The renovations are almost done, the inn part is almost ready now.
Tony Newsson The man that stared at Tifa turned toward Tony and snapped off a salute. "Understood, sir!" The Sergeant sighed and turned toward the barmaid. He could tell why his squad mate had a thing for her right away... but that didn't excuse what he'd said. "You'll have to forgive Stephens. He lets his mouth run before his brain once in a while." He extended his right hand for a shake. "I think I'll take Mercade up on that offer one of these days, though." Because she was rather pretty, and he needed someone easy on the eyes.
Deidra Deidra says "Look I seen, Lamia's, Demi-humans nd other things I thought were myth. If you got the space port, it's pretty much like Star War's Cantina out there." She swore she saw dudes in brown robes once. She looking at them for a moment, she seems a little amused about their response to Tifa. "Yes they are, generally I suggest you take them like you do other humans. People are people..."
Mercade Alexander "That's great!" Mercade responds to Tifa. "I'm glad everything has been working out for you. Sorry I haven't been back by to Seventh Heaven lately, people keep pulling me around." He scratches the back of his head. "But the addition of the inn will be nice!" He nods to Tony. "It's a bit of a ways to Goug though, you'll need to be careful." He winces. "Sometimes it's a little dicey."
Tony Newsson Tony smirked and glanced back at his team. "Dicey is what we're used to." He turned toward Mercade again. "Let's get moving to that camp. It's about time we got involved." Camilla however, couldn't stop looking at Deidra, her features changing into an expression of recognition. "You're a gargoyle, aren't you?" Her voice was calm, dispassionate. "Never thought that little myth was true, but... here you are. And there are others like you, I'm going to assume." Tony looked back at his second in command, then at Deidra, his eyes narrowed. After a few moments, he nodded, his features returning to normal. "Yeah, she certainly does look like one of those statues we keep on seeing. That's..." He grinned. "...Pretty damn cool!"
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart smiles to Mercade, nodding "Its not too hard to get there really, once you know your way around. I come here once in a while to shop after all." Although, she can also hold herself pretty good, even if it doesn't look like it. She looks over to the small group that is behind Tony "Its not quite like Manhattan, but I'm sure some of you will enjoy goug."
Deidra Deidra nods a little bit and says "Lot of myths have been proven real lately, painfully so." She looks at Camilla nodding once more "Becareful what you poke, you might wake something unhappy." Like Riku found out with Loki. "There are others I'd have to have parents right?" She tilts her head curiopus now and will have to talk to this woman later. She's curious now. "I guess humans habits of making statues like that is some sort of an echo of a memory."
Cirra Constantine Cirra Constantine walks through Traverse Town, trying to find a building. Unfortunatly all she knows is that it exists. Neither a description, nor an address.

Goddamnit Mercade.

While she isn't wearing her judge armor, her black 'civillian' leather armor and blate gloves gets a few looks, or maybe it's the silver hair? Or it could be the multitude of bandages that peaking out under her collar and around one thigh. It looks like she's been in a bad fight recently. Bad enough that healing magic wasn't enough.
Mercade Alexander Mercade shrugs to Tifa. "I just seem to have bad luck, I guess." He says. "But you're right, Goug does sort of have a little of the same feel in some ways.

He looks around and spots Cirra. He's seen that costume... And what's she doing all wrapped up like that? "HEY CIRRA!" Mercade waves. "What happened to you? God, you look a mess!"
Tony Newsson It appeared that they were attracting more attention than necessary. Then again, it seemed that this Mercade knew quite a few people. Tony simply stood aside and observed this new factor in the equation. Silver hair... he'd seen the pale blondes before, but this was a bit crazy. The armor she wore was something else too, but the thing that got him, like the hardboiled man that spoke to her, was the injuries she'd suffered. Someone who went through all those and could still walk was something to watch out for.
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart nods and pats Mercade's shoulder with a grin "I suppose the Zolom is a bad encounter when you don't know how to avoid it. You should use your chocobo, it can cross the swamp without much troubles."
Cirra Constantine Cirra looks up as her name is called by a voice she knows. "Mercade." she "I was looking for you." she pauses, "It would have gone a lot faster if you had told me /where/ in Traverse Town you had set up."

At the question of her injuries Cirra mhns, glancing t the other people with Mercade. "I found the monster that had been plaguing the Dalmascan eastersands. I convinced it to... Move on."
Mercade Alexander "Yeah, I wasn't lucky enough to have Watson with me the last couple times." He sighs. "It's not so bad now."

"I'm sorry, Cirra." Mercade apologizes. "We don't have a place yet, Cirra. We're working out of the hotel, but that's just a temporary thing. Right now, I'm looking at trying to buy a building here in Traverse, or maybe having one built."

He looks back to Tifa. "I want it to be a little more open, though. Your plans for the Seventh Heaven gave me an idea. I wanted to get a bar and put the offices in over that on an additional floor, then living quarters over that. It'd make everything in one nice, neat package. All I'd need to do is, well, find someone to run the bar. We don't have any barkeeps, even if Celina can cook..."
Deidra Deidra notices as Cirra arrives and does remeber she tried to help save her home. She's thankful for that help even if they failed. She won't forget the judge's actions that's for sure. She looks back to Tifa for a moment "Zolom? I heard about that thing, is it as big as the chatter in Goug say it is?" A land creature that large was an alien concept to her. Even from a world like her's things normally didn't get /that/ large. She looks back to Mercade but doesn't say a thing it's not a thing to say in public really. "It's been a while your honor. It's good to see you on your feet again."
Tony Newsson Okay, that term was one he was familiar with. They called her 'your honor', which was a term reserved for a judge. And with all those bandages, Tony smirked. "A judge that can kick some ass, huh?" He glanced toward Mercade. "You sure know a lot of interesting people, but this takes the cake. I think I like it." He turned back toward the silver-haired woman. "What's your name... your honor?"
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart smiles at what Mercade says, and claps her hands "Well I still have the project loan from Xanatos, to branch out into other cities. If you don't mind posting it up as Seventh Heaven, I'd be happy to handle the barkeeping part of it." Barkeep is more than just being there at the counter, its also inventory and what not after all. Even if she's not there she can appoint someone to do it.
Cirra Constantine "I'm off duty." Cirra replies to 'your honors' with a hand held up. "And I'm sure TRaverse town wouldn't recognize my authority even if I was."

"Cirra Cosntantine, and I asure you most of us can hold our own."

"The important thing is however: The mosnter in the westersands was the Dark Knight that was attacking the Manhattan military base."
Mercade Alexander "You have to get out there and meet people." Mercade replies. "It's one of those situations where the more people you know, the better off you are. Know what I mean?"

He looks over to Cirra. "A monster? What kind of monster? And Dark Knight... You should probably explain what is going on, Cirra."

He considers Tifa's request. "This could be doable, sure." He grins. "Seventh Heaven, Traverse Town branch. Hahaha. You can work on logistics while we find someone to man the counter."
CADUCEUS CADUCEUS noticed that things looked better when you didnt hide yourself behind black shrouds and helmets and he actually looks content. He walks into the area and watches the people, as if studying the various people and their features, like Mercade's hatlessness and Tifa's long hair and even Cirra's eyes. It looked as if he was watching something out of a zoo instead of him looking out of place.
Tony Newsson Tony nodded toward Cirra. "Anthony Newsson. Just Tony will be fine for me." He turned his attention toward Tifa. "We're going to assume that this Xanatos you're talking about is the same one that's been dealing with the NYPD for a long time now, upgrading our equipment and technology." He raised an eyebrow. "What's he doing funding a bar?"
Deidra Deidra says "I was just attempting to be respectful, I'm sorry. Cirra it is then." She shifts her body a bit her tail flicking a little as she gets into a bit more of a comfortable postion. "I see Tony, and ya same guy. I assume your people were at Central park or otherwise helping in the evacuation?" She knew Tifa was getting some backing from Xanatos so she's not suprised he was a businessman right? He must have been expanding his business.
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart hms "Well I'm guessing he just likes money, and he does stuff to benefit from it in one way or another. He hasn't given me his entire plans either mind you, just that he was interested in expanding my bar, branching out and renovating my old one.
Cirra Constantine Cirra mmns, thinking. "Dring the fall of Manhattan I was ordered to protect the Military base there. There I encountered a Dark Knight that didn't give a name but he was clearly there to attack the defenders of your city. I and some other fought him until he retreated."

"More recently a Mark went up on the Hunter boards in Rabanastre. A monster that kills animals and monsters but never humans. It was on the verge of becoming an S rank mark - serious menace. So I tracked a group of monsters over the Dalmascan sands and it attacked them. I tranquilized it and confirmed my suspcions, it was intelligent and could talk."

"Eventually I descerned its identity and we fought. At first I thought he had been transformed because of what happened in Manhattan, but he said it was somthing else that did it."
CADUCEUS When the people didnt seem to mind the man with glowing green circuits staring at them, he reaches to his back and pulls off a disk, holding it up so the flat side is facing to them. It would be then that faint green line will attempt to shine on the various people, one at a time.
Tony Newsson One person saw him though, and the disc drew his attention... but when a green light shone on him, he paused for a moment. "Sergeant... look behind you." Tony glanced over his right shoulder, and the sight of the... person? With lines? Okay, strange. But he'd now officially seen strange. Still, it made him jump, and he turned on the spot. "Hey, not cool! It's not proper to sneak up on people like that." Could've gotten him killed with someone that had less discipline. Anthony sighed and tilted his head to the right. "What are you doing?"
Mercade Alexander Mercade isn't doing much at the moment, simply folding his arms and listening. Talking is important, but listening even moreso. When Cirra describes the situation in the Westersand, he nods. "Interesting... And you say this Dark Knight became a monster? Do you have any idea how it happened, since it wasn't from an effect of the Fall of Manhattan?"

He glances over at the green circuity guy, but says nothing. He does, however, arch an eyebrow. He doesn't... /look/ dangerous...
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart doesn't know much about these programs. She met one or two though, one of them tried to erase her int he worst way too, but at least it failed. This one... would have blown up a house or something first before simply scanning them, if there was any danger at least. She waves toward the discholder, and turns back to Mercade "Well, back home I have a list of potential buildings that Xanatos gave me, he was serious about it. I had started with manhattan, didn't look into Traverse yet, but I guess its a good time as any now. Various buildings that he said would be vacant or available for a price."
Cirra Constantine Cirra shakes her head, "No we came to blows before I could get him to reveal that. He hates Archadia thou-" Caduceus begins scanning them, and Cirra suddenly surges forward past Mercade and the SWAt team in the blink of an eye, one hand grabbing around the program's neck.

"What are you doing?" she asks angrily, eyes narrowing.
Deidra Deidra says "True but pricees might spike with all the refugees." She frowns a little bit about this fact. "Damn it we were so close..." She thinks back to the final moments at the key hole. If not for mickey she's be dead, in the darkness or heartless by now. "I guess there's nothing we can do about the past but you setting up shop here could be a real moral booster for people Tifa."

She listens to the whole dark knight becoming a monster "Okay I never heard of that happening to a Dark Knight before..."
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart nods as she listens "... Sounds like someone lost control over darkness and heartless ate them." She shakes her head "We met someone that was half-transformed but not entirely before, me and Aerith... not a pretty sight.
Mercade Alexander "You did?" Mercade asks Tifa. "God, that sounds horrible!" He looks at Cadu's explanation and gestures to him. "How... do you do that? So you have some kind of exam device?" He asks, curious.

Cirra explains some more. "He hates Archades? Why, what happened to cause that?"

He doesn't intervene to protect Caduceus. A medical scan seems... invasive to him to do to random people.
Cirra Constantine Cirra stares up at Caduceus for a long, quiet moment, eyes narrowed at him. "You're a machine entity, like the one that lead the attack on Manhattan."
CADUCEUS "This disk is my Identity disc. Everything I know and do is recorded onto it and as such based on my programming, allows me to perform medical procedures." He says, not seeming to mind being held by his throat. "I am the Clinical Assistance Directorial Utilitary Companion with Enhancement Upgrade Systems, or you may call me CADUCEUS if you rather." He says as he then looks to Cirra. "Not all of us are like those hostile programs you met. I was designed to aid combat medics on the battlefield when the patient is unable to be moved. If you can let me down, I can probably show you all what is like in my world."
Deidra Deidra says "But he shouldn't have his mind if that happened. I have never seen a heartless with any mind left too it." She admits. She nods for a moment tiling her head. "Wait what how did that even work Tifa? Was there anything you two were able to do for them? She looks at the show down between program and judge this could get bad. "Easy..."
Cirra Constantine Cirra releases Caduceus and turns away, "I have no interest in seeing it." she starts to walk back down the street from whence she came.
Mercade Alexander "Hi Sarafina!" Mercade exclaims pleasantly as Sara arrives. "I'm just showing around some of the new guys who survived the Fall of Manhattan." He smiles and looks at the others present... And turns to Caduceus. "You're... an odd one. But I'm a little busy right now, maybe some other time." Mercade shakes his head, and he calls to Cirra. "Good luck, all right?" He says.
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart turns around when Sarafina appears, smiling and waving. She's been listening to Caduceus' side of the story quietly, not much to say there. There are many wonders of this world after all, she has no idea just how much either. Living programs, that's not entirely new to her considering LEXUS and Deelel, but a maintenance one, that's interesting enough.
Cirra Constantine Cirra lifts one hand as she walks away, a shortwave to Mercade as she goes.
Deidra Deidra is keeping back from the argument hoping a fight doesn't break out over this it could be hopefully settling down. She sighs ffor a moment. Programs here talking? That's a bit mind boggling to be sure. Well he's not trying to kill anyone right? At least so far...
Tony Newsson Tony did nothing but observe what transpired, and the violence that almost broke out... yet didn't. She certainly seemed prone to it from the way she just rushed without considering the consequences. He'd have to keep a note of that for later. For the moment... living programs, huh? This day just kept on getting stranger. But when one was inundated with so much strange at once, they either went crazy or got used to it quickly. Tony was a man who was capable of the latter, so he shrugged at the revelation. "So you're a field medic. That's handy."
Mercade Alexander Mercode nods to those present, and looks out into the city. "Anyway, Tony, you and yours should have all the information you need to deal with things for the moment. I recommend you look around here in Traverse Town and get used to things. If you need help with anything, come to the hotel and any of us at the Agency will be happy to give you a hand." At that, Mercade gives a short wave. "I'll see you guys around, all right?" He turns, and heads out, into the town.
Tony Newsson Anthony nodded and gestured toward his team to follow him. He'd showed them around handily, and now it was time to take advantage of this information. "Thanks for everything, Mercade. We'll be in touch." Indeed they would, because he was one of the only links to his city... no, his world... that he had left. "Let's move, people. Camilla, secure us a few rooms. Stephens, Miller, head for the Hearts Intertwined shelter. The rest of you come with me, we need to scope this place out for ourselves."

And then they got moving.
