Wolf And Gargoyle
(2012-09-19 - 2012-09-21)
Skoll meets the hungry and lost Zia, and inevitably gets her into trouble.
Zia Since arriving in New York months ago, not much had changed in Zia's routine. She'd discovered safe places to roost, scrounged up a few things to make life more comfortable, and eventually figured out a pattern of places she could steal food from without it going noticed. Every night carried with it the temptation to seek out others, the draw to find someone, anyone to talk to... but the past still weighed heavily on her, and it kept her curious nature from reaching out, even to her own kind.

All of that changed the day that the stars began to fade. Like so many people, she doesn't quite know what happened to make the sky turn dark - as if so many worlds had just blinked out of existance one by one. Then the strange ones started coming, causing that ruckous in Central Park. It's enough to draw even the most cautious out, and enough for Zia to finally give in to her curiousity.

After encountering a strange gargress a few nights back, the girl had decided to figure out what was going on for herself. That is how she'd encountered the portal. The swirling vortex had been nearly invisible, but some part of her magical senses picked up on it. She watched it for two nights straight, saw the Heartless that came and went, and sometimes caught glimpses of other creatures using it to move from somewhere else into and out of her world. Eventually, when all was quiet, Zia took her chance, and stepped through - into another world.

The journey hadn't exactly gone as she expected. Instead of coming out neatly on the other side, she'd encountered a cloaked figure surrounded by Heartless. With a swish of one hand, the girl was thrown aside, cast adrift, only to end up opening her eyes on an unfamiliar shore. Coughing, the girl had barely been able to get to her feet before a trio of ducks walked by, having a conversation.

"Ah dinne think this is New York anymore." She murmured, watching as the duck-boys wandered off up the beach towards the city, talking about some sort of 'Junior Woodchuck Guidebook'. Maybe it's a sort of magic tome? And that is how Zia ended up at the outskirts of Traverse town, winded, confused, and with absolutely no clue how she got here, or how to get back to her own world.

Now, the gargress walks along the street, feeling more than a little strange to be surrounded by humans, demi-humans, talking animals on two legs, and other creatures she can't even identify. She's got a cloak pulled around her, which shields most of her inhuman features from view, allowing only a shadowed view of her feminine features. She stops in front of one of the shops not too far from the WildKat cafe, staring in through the window to see an array of weaponry that certainly looks like it belongs as part of another age. Then again, this entire /place/ looks like it doesn't really belong.

The smell of food wafts across the street, causing her stomach to growl audibly. "Quiet ye. Ah'll figure out somethin." She has about as much money in this world as she had back in New York, which is a whopping zero.
Skoll Ulfang The WildKat cafe is a place perfect for people who look like Ulfang; both orderly and chaotic. If she were to have peeked inside, she might have seen a wolfish / punkish looking young man, drinking what looks like something brown and warm - chocolate milk or coffee. He was talking to a tall and 'hip' looking man, before standing up and leaving the cup of drink on the table, empty.

A short goodbye later, the wolfish young man steps outside of the store, holding what looks like an antique pocketwatch and staring at its hands. Not seconds later, he's winding it up while lazily looking around, watching a few villagers wandering hand in hand into the distance, and a yellow dog with a big black nose dart off towards an alley. Yet, amongst all this strange, Zia manages to stand out.

So many here are demihumans, and none of them really try to hide themselves or their form. He then tucks the pocketwatch into his right side pocket and grabs a small plastic thing from his left and bites away on a small piece of beef jerky, before glancing at the cloaked gargess, and raises a brow at her. The 'ears' at the top of his head suddenly perk, hearing the grumble. A dog? No... no, that's the sound of someone hungry! He freezes in that moment of hearing that sound, glancing at her, and when he finally unfreezes; he takes the jerky from his mouth and stares at it for a moment. Not exactly... quality food for a hungry person.

Still, he decides to wander the girl's way, kind of moving along her side rather than directly approaching her from the front, and halts besides her. "Here." He then suddenly comments, and offers the plastic baggy of untouched jerky. "Have some."
Zia At first, Zia tries not to even look in the direction of the cafe. She just tugs the cloak around her, trying to put distance between herself and the delicious smells floating out on the breeze. Of course, that's when her path gets interrupted by a large, two-legged lizard who burps loudly, mutters an 'excuse me' at her, and then wanders off drunkenly down the street. "Wha in the..." She whispers to herself, staring after the Bangaa.

It's at that point that she catches sight of the strange looking man stepping out from the cafe. Maybe it's all the chains and leather, but she can't help but stare for what is certainly a lot longer than is strictly normal. Something about him just doesn't seem right - like a human, but not a human at the same time. Then, as her stomach growling seems to draw his attention, she quickly looks away again, pretending to be interested in a shop selling some strange colored potions.

It's impossible to miss his approach, though. There is no way that the movement of all those chains can be remotely stealthy. Her ears twitch, hearing him coming her way. There is that natural urge to run, to avoid interaction with humans, to keep herself safe. There is a quick motion of her head, examining the escape routes, when a orange-toned Seeq follows the Bangaa out of the alleyway in front of her, shouting something and nearly barreling into the gargress.

Zia ends up taking a half step back, stuck between the drunk Seeq, the incoming man with the chains, and a store-front display. So, she freezes, closing her eyes and silently hoping that he just passes her by. Of course, the sound of a voice has her peek her eyes open, looking first at the plastic bag of jerky, then up into the face of the wolfish-looking man. "Uh." There is the prospect of food, and then all the possibilities of it being somehow poisoned, or tainted. Maybe he's trying to capture her?

"Ah dinnae think it's wise te be takin food from strangers." She states, the girl's accent is a little strange, but not far off of that used by a certain ice-cream selling former millionaire. "'m fine, thank ye." He might get just the quickest glance at her features, the shift of pale blue eyes and a fringe of hair as she turns away, starting to walk away down the street.
Skoll Ulfang The wolfish man indeed catches sight of the hair within the hood as the girl moves, while muttering something underbreath about inebriated people out in public. One must not misunderstand, the wolf has nothing against alcohol and its uses. But he believes that once one steps out in public, it's but common decency to act like a gentleman! Ah, if only the whole world could be like him.

... no wait, that'd be awful.

The rejection however, comes fast, and the reason stabs into his heart! Stranger! Yes. Not wise to take food from? Oof! He's being a gentleman! He must insist! This girl is after all, clearly hungry. As for her accent. Speaking of that duck, he just happens to be waggling by, shouting something in that scottish accent of his as the three Nephews wander off. Something about icecream maybe?

The wolfish man quicky catches up with her, walking besides her, and then reaches into the plastic bag, breaks a piece off, takes a bite from one, chews, and then offers the remaining peace. "See, safe? It would befit me not, were I to leave a lady hungry." He's figured out that she's a girl rather quickly... from her voice. And of course, some of what he can see through the cloak.
Zia The sound of an accent similar to hers causes a twitch of Zia's ears beneath the cloak. Her head turns, only to see another duck. The world, is a very strange place. "Why is it always ducks?" She asks herself in an undertone, obviously still quite confused from her sudden, abrupt arrival in Traverse Town.

And then the chain-covered man catches up with her again, causing her to blink and look up, stepping back so that she's pressed against the wall. "Really, ah'm..." She starts to protest, but her stomach says otherwise, growling again. A bit of a flush colors her cheeks. "Okay, fine then." A hand reaches out from beneath the cloak, her taloned fingers clearly not human. There are only four digits, each one tipped sharp white claw. Her entire hand and forearm is wrapped in what looks like strips of black cloth, like bandages.

The hand is quick to snatch a piece of the jerky, trying not to touch his hand in the process. It's popped into her mouth quicker than one might expect, then the hand vanishes again beneath her cloak as she chews. It takes a moment for the sound of satisifaction from her lips. She'd gone without her usual rounds for food while observing the portal, and her body is just catching up on a day's worth of hunger.

Since it seems as if she might just be stuck here for a moment, Zia hazards a glance at the man again, "Ye don happen te know wha this place is, do ye?" She has a surprisingly light voice, "Is this where those black creatures are commin from? Ah havenae seen any here. Jus... strange creatures of all sorts."

Just at about that point, the Seeq turns towards Skoll, grunting something. "Got a problem?" He snorts, looking him up and down as if trying to figure out if he could take the little punk who was mumbling about him. "Hey, Sekaa, we've got a mouthy one." The Bangaa wobbles once, then turns back to look at his friend, then at the two creatures he's looking at. "Oh not again. We jusssst got kicked out of the bar becaussse of you. Now you want to ssstart another fight?" The Seeq ignores him, narrowing his eyes at Skoll.
Skoll Ulfang The wolf is certain not to stand directly facing her, cooly keeping his side towards her. He is a wolf, he knows how much people hate getting stared directly in the eyes, or stood in front of. Especially women. So he's being as non-hostile as it gets. He lets her pick the jerkey from his hand and then watches it disappear underneath the hood. Of course, it gives him a quick glance at her hand and arm. Or rather, what is /covering/ her arm.

"You're welcome, m'lady." The wolf says, the words flowing rather naturally off of his lips... words one might not expect from someone looking like him. It does him good though, to help a lady in need like this. Her question then gets a nod from him whilst he looks further down the streets, glancing back at her with his yellow eyes only when she's finished speaking. "Traverse Town. Land of the wandering souls." Ulfang notes, just before a thick Seeq turns his way towards him...

Skoll is quick to bare his teeth - which show a deep pair of fangs. "Move away, Seeq, if you know what's good for you." His hair bristles almost like one might expect an angered cat's to be, and his fingers bend down a little like claws. Skoll moves in front of Zia, so that she is taken from the seeq's sight, and remains to stand before him. He actually has more to say to Zia, but this dumb oaf has now stepped in the way of having a decent conversation.
Zia Perhaps the wolf could have phrased things a little better. "Wanderin souls?" She asks, blinking those blue eyes from under the hood of her cloak. While he might be trying to avoid looking directly at her, or standing in front of her, that doesn't stop a taloned hand from grabbing at his arm, trying to get his attention, "Am ah dead?" The poor girl makes the logical leap there.

Luckily, a big angry Seeq decides to interrupt things, and she doesn't have time to go too far down that line of thought. "Ooo, look Sekaa, he's got teeth. Gonna bite me, little man?" The Bangaa wobbles over, looking distinctly drunk, but definitely not as much of a threat as his friend, at least not at first. "Maybe he's a vampire, Grun. Better not let him bite you." The Seeq claps a hand onto his belly, snorting with laughter.

"Guess I don't know what's good for me. Whatcha gonna do about it?" He leans down, trying to get right up into Skoll's face. That, of course, is when Zia decides to step out a little. It's not that she isn't greatful for the protection, but she's hardly a damsel in distress. "Why don'tye bugger off ye great goon." Well, if she's dead anyways, what is there to loose in picking a fight against someone that's almost twice your size?

"Why you little..." The Seeq draws his hand back just a bit too quickly and ends up conking his friend right on the nose. "Hey!" The surprised Bangaa yells, clutching his muzzle and looking confused. "It was him, dirty little vampire!" The Bangaa, who obivously didn't see what happened, charges forward, hissing, trying to use his bulk to shove both Zia and Skoll back against the wall.
Skoll Ulfang When the girl firsts asks him about wandering souls, he just nods his head a little. Yes, he could have phrased things a little better, but what is the fun in that? It's when she grabs at him that he quickly glances her way. Her question surprises him, not expecting to be misunderstood like that. "You're..." But then he's interupted by the Seeq!

"I am no vampire, Seeq!" Skoll retorts far too proudly, and tilts his head back a little as to not having to breathe the beast's four breath. He does growl underneath his breath however, clearly not too happy with the beast deciding to pick a fight. Of course, then Zia has to make things worse by standing up for herself.

The werewolf then suddenly naturally reacts when the Seeq makes for a foolish slam at his own friend, followed by the Bangaa suddenly rushing forwards. His reaction is so natural, as a born warrior, that the rushing Bangaa slams his bulk right past him into the wall... leaving Zia right there within its path. The realization is a little late for the werewolf, and he makes for a sorrowful growl as the Bangaa continues to make for her.

Hoping to at least get to it somewhat in time, he pulls his both hands out of pockets again suddenly, and grabs for his belt-chain and flicks his fingers over a little carabiner that holds it at the back. He then flings it around and spins it right for the neck of the Bangaa, and then lets a sudden sparking sets of light scream through it, trying to pull the monsterous demi-human back and down to the ground!
Zia Maybe opening her big mouth wasn't such a good idea. The enranged Bangaa goes slamming right towards her, and with her wings occupied by the cloak, Zia can't do much but try to leap out of the way. Unfortuantely, the lizard-like demi-human is a bit taller than she is, and she ends up thrown back against the wall, pinned against his shoulder. "Ach." She coughs, shoving a hand at the Bangaa's face. "Yer breath is terrible."

At the same time that Skoll's chains catch hold of the Sekaa, Zia manages to squirm out of the way and launches herself upwards, catching onto the side of the building with one clawed hand. Those sharp digits do seem to be quite useful. If the wolf were looking up, he might catch sight of a flash of white skin and a tail before the cloak shifts over her again, just one taloned hand visible as she extends it towards the ground.

A glowing circle forms, emerging with glyphs that seem to be drawn up by the gargress's power. She chants in some strange language of power, and when the spell is complete, it seems to shift so that there is a swirling vortex of wind around both the Seeq and the Bangaa, as well as bands of ice that seem to be clinging to each of their legs like manacles.

It is the Seeq who notices this first, with his companion being pulled around by Skoll's chains at the time. He looks down, then gives a yelp as pain starts to lash through his legs. "Ow ow ow, what did you do you little b-" Whatever he'd been about to say gets cut off as his friend barrels backwards, shoving both of them over into the street.

Growling, the two stumble to their feet, looking first at one another, and then at the two adversaries. The Seeq runs a hand over his nose, then charges at the wall, leaping up to try and grab at one of the gargoyle's legs, "Get down here so I can kick your a-" Yet again, whatever he says gets cut off by the yell of the Bangaa, who decides to Target Skoll. He grabs onto the chains with one hand, then gives them a yard yank, trying to pull the wolf right into a waiting fist.
Skoll Ulfang Wow, talk about seeing new things. A Seeq... /climbing/ a wall! He must be running on super drunken powers or something, because that is just... well... /inconceivable/. Still, the Seeq manages to grab onto the girl and harm her, even while the girl continues to cast her icey magic. He knows well enough to stay out of the way when magic is being flung around!

But what's more, he noticed the strange appearance of the girl - the white skin and further bandages. Was the girl wounded? In that case, letting the Seeq touch her like that is /unforgivable/! "Do not touch the lady! That's rude!" The wolf calls out, just about to move to assist the girl when the Bangaa decides to take revenge and grabs the chain, janking on the thing and sending him flying. He sees what is about to happen, and does what he does best. Bite down! The Bangaa slams his fist straight into the wolf's face!

The wolf is quick to react after the hit however, letting his body naturally be toppled, touching one hand to the ground, and then throwing himself up so that his chain comes around the creature's arm and then lands right in front of him again after a quick touch of his boots on the thing's head. "Stay here." He hisses, before clutching both his hands around the chain that just... seems to keep on getting longer and longer - without stop... and then lets a violent purple energy JET through it - very obviously drenched in tainted and dark magic.
Zia It seems to come as much of a surprise to Zia as it does to Skoll that the Seeq can actually get up high enough to grab her, but her leg gets caught, and with a small sound of surprise, the girl gets tossed down hard onto the ground, where there is a waiting punch that catches her in the chest, knocking the wind out of her. It is by sheer luck that gargoyles are study creatures by nature, as that sort of blow would probably have knocked out a normal girl.

The brute doesn't seem to have any issues with hitting a girl, much less one that's smaller than him. As the punch comes forward, Zia snarls and lashes out with her magic, a blast of wind shoving the Seeq backwards. There is a quick sign of that white hair and pointed ears before she pulls the hood up again, scrambling into a crouch even as the Seeq slams into the wall of the street opposite, grunting as he lands.

"Witch." He snorts, getting up just in time to see his friend get wrapped up in chains, squirming to try to get free. "Hey, let him go you stupid undead freak." The Seeq reaches into his pocket and pulls out a potion, and then chucks it at Skoll's head. When it breaks against the back of the poor wolf's head, he ends up drenched in liquid, which after a moment can be easily identified as water. What the?

"Hey... aren't you supposed to like, burst into flames or something?" The confused Seeq grunts. "That's holy water, that is, got it from the Church myself!" Still with the vampire nonsense, it seems. "Well, fine then. I'll just knock you back into the grave myself, and you're little witch friend!" From behind his back, the Seeq pulls out an absolutely huge hammer, that certainly couldn't have fit back there. Physics, what physics?

With a yell of drunken rage, he swings it in a wide arc, trying to catch the both of them and send them flying.
Skoll Ulfang Skoll huffs as he draws the Bangaa's energy into himself, the disrupting and negative elements digging deep into his opponent's reserves, and only serve to give him more. In fact, his hair stands up on end a little, and black energy sparks off of his body for a few moments while still holding the Bangaa in his chain - refusing to let go.

But then suddenly, SMASH! There's the painful feeling of a potion being broken against his head... and he feels... wet? Ugh, now he'll smell like /wet dog/ all day! The wolf slowly looks about when the Seeq starts grunting in his confusion. "I /told/ you, I am /not/ an undead!" Tssk, they never learn! The wolfish creature then grabs for the chain, and it suddenly begins to grow further and further, until he has enough to hold it in both of his hands and then suddenly lashes out at the Seeq with the opposite side.

The wolf continues this with a small sprint to try and lift the Bangaa off of the ground, and then suddenly jerks the chain so that the end of it would slap into the Seeq's face like a whip, before unrolling the Bangaa from the opposite side and flinging him right into his friend!

"You must not call a lady names!" Skoll growls, clearly getting more and more annoyed. "This is why I do not like public drunkenry... No respect!"
Zia Apparently, wearing a cloak has the same downsides as superheros with capes - which is, that they get in the way /constantly/. While she certainly can see the hammer comming towards her, Zia ends up stumbling on the edge of the cloak, losing her balance for a moment before it slams against her, sending the girl flying into a heap dark blue fabric and pale limbs. At first, it seems as if the girl might just be out of the fight, her head resting against the cobblestone street, white hair strewn behind her.

The Seeq laughs to himself, seeming quite pleased at having dispatched the female. "Aww, did I hurt your girlfriend?" He turns, big feet making clomping sounds as he turns, that hammer still raised towards the wolf. He's turning just in time to get a Bangaa to the face, and then to see a few birds floating around his head before his friend is thrown right into him, causing both of them to go tumbling again.

This time, they aren't as quick to get to their feet. In fact, the Bangaa doesn't even move, just staring at the little animated birds floating around his head. "You. Stupid. Urgh. Gonna. Kill. You." The Seeq grunts, giving a glance down the street at the girl who is seemingly unconscious, and rather than targeting her, he picks up that hammer, stumbling forward a few steps before swinging it like a golf club, trying to smack the wolf up into the air, then back down to the ground again.
Skoll Ulfang With the former hammer-swing evaded by sidestepping, the wolf hasn't noticed at first just how bad it was to evade that move! After all, now Zia - behind him - has planted down. He can hear the sound of her body hitting the streets, and quickly looks behind him. "M'lady!" He calls out, distraught that the girl had been felled by the hammer! What kind of gentleman was he - if he could not even take care of these two streetpunks, and let her get harmed like that!?

The werewolf /snarls/, glaring with anger when the Seeq makes his little quip. "Don't you DARE patronize either of us - you filthy /pig/. No... wait, that'd be rude to the PIGS of this world!" The werewolf comically flashes a tail, all fluffed up and his fangs bare. It's clear that he's /pissed/. "I dare you. Get up!" He lashes the chain, whipping it against the ground near him, before tugging it back so he has basically two chains - the middle stretched behind his back, ready.

Then the Seeq comes stumbling forwards again, and swings that hammer. This time, the wolf is ready. "This..." He swings the right side of the chain around the base of the hammer, and then sidesteps to get out of its way, and tugs on it hard. "IS FOR HURTING A LADY"! And then ducks down, swings the left side of the chain for its legs, and then tugs on the right HARD, in order to make the hammer 'return' to the Seeq's head. He wants to go to the fallen white-haired girl... the poor woman... but he must make sure she's safe before he can do that!
Zia It is by some miracle that the Seeq manages to stumble out of the way of the chain moving towards his legs, kicking at them at one point and nearly face-planting in his drunken state. The pig-like demi-human does stay on his feet, though, and with a snort-laugh, he turns towards Skoll. "Ooo, big mouth." He walks forward, threateningly, "Just you wait, lover boy, I'll deal with her when I'm done with you."

That is when he notices the puffed up tail. "Hey. Wait a minute, you're not a vampire... you must be a we-" This time, it isn't his Bangaa friend who cuts off the Seeq's big mouth, but a blast of ice that catches him from behind. Like a storm that has been summoned up out of nowhere, the ice wraps around him, freezing the demi-human in place, leaving only his wide eyes and gaping mouth staring at Skoll. The eyes blink now and again.

From behind the Seeq, the little white gargoyle is sitting up on her knees, clutching one hand to her chest as the other is held outward towards their opponent. The Bangaa looks towards her, then at his friend, then back again, "Ah suggest ye take the ice sculpture tha used te be yer friend and git." Even though the girl is obviously in some pain, and kneeling on the street, there is an edge to her voice that causes the Bangaa to do just that.

He runs up, grabbing his friend around the middle. "Uh, sorry." He mutters, and with a crack, he pulls the ice-trapped Seeq up, dragging him away like some comic figure, only dropping him on his head once or twice along the way. The girl's eyes are feirce as she follows their retreat, only faltering when she realizes that Skoll has a clear view of her.

Her ears tuck back, and with a quick motion, Zia tugs the hood of her cloak up again, turning her face away as she gets to her feet. There she goes, getting herself into trouble again. Then again, if she really is dead and this is hell, at least she can feel safe in the fact that she can kick the tails of the 'demons' that live in this world. Of course, now Skoll has seen too much, so the girl turns and starts to make her way down the street away from him, hoping her head start be to her advantage.

The girl ducks down an alley, then seems to vanish, although a keen nose or a quick eye woul easily scent her or catch sight of the hem of her cloak disappearing onto a rooftop next door.
Skoll Ulfang Well, talk about overshadowed! The werewolf watches the weather changing rather locally, and sees the ice wrap around the massive Seeq. He just watches the thing freeze... and can't help but grin. And when he finally is frozen up, he proceeds to put the chain back around his belt and wanders cooly towards the Seeq, puts a finger to its ugly frozen nose, and huffs. "Gee, what tipped you off?" Plunk. And he lets the little sculpture fall over, before he moves around and then 'kicks' the thing towards the Bangaa to catch. For all the fighting, at least he still looks neigh perfect! A few hits, but nothing too bad.

Skoll brushes the back of his gloved hands off of his chest, before sticking his hands at his lips and looks back Zia's way. She's... well... a lot worse for wear. "You okay there, lady?" He asks, but she's already slipping out into an alley! Skoll is quick to follow, and immensely quick on his feet!

Clearly, he didn't care whether she showed her form or not - and he'd seem quite a bit during the whole battle. "Never seen anyone like you around these-here parts." He calls out after her, suggesting that gargoyles have never been here before. But how much of her had he /truly/ seen? Does he even know what a Gargoyle is?

If she'll halt on the rooftop, he'll land on the rooftop opposite to her. "Pfew... I needed that workout. Sorry - probably strange I am following you like this..." He then digs for his pocket, and pulls out a HiPotion. "Here, take this." He calls, and tosses it in her general direction.
Zia Normally, the rooftops would be a relatively safe place for a gargoyle, since most people can't climb that quickly and normal humans can't fly. She edges herself along the tiled roof, trying to catch her breath and ease some of the pain in her side. When the chain-bearing man just seems to leap up to join her, the girl flinches away at first in surprise, and then her blue eyes just stare from underneath her cloak.

"Wha /are/ ye?" She asks, perhaps not really expecting an answer. There is no hiding her taloned feet the way that she's sitting, showing her digit-grade anatamy which certainly could not be human. As he throws the potion her way, it's instinct that has her reaching out to catch it. Her eyes seem confused as she looks at the bottle, then over at him.

"Ye must think me daft. First ye have me eatin strange things, an then yer tossin those brutes around like playthings with those chains o' yers." She reaches out, putting the potion down on a nearby chimney spout, keeping it away from her even as her other hand still braces against her chest. "Yer a demon, no doubt, sent by the dark lord te punish me fer all ah dun wrong."

Those blue eyes are suspicious, watching him coldly, "Jus do wha-ever it is ye were sent here te do with me an be dun with it." Yep, she still thinks this is hell, or at least the doorway to it.
Skoll Ulfang "It's called beef-jerky." Skoll answers the girl, putting his hands back into his pockets and leans back a little while standing, giving her a cool look. "As for what I am, can't you tell?" His ears perk a little. Tailswish. "Werewolf Skoll Ulfang, at your service." He bows most graciously, before he gets back up and flashes a toothy grin at her. "Sorry for following you around and forcing my services upon you like this. But I just can't let a Lady in need to wander the streets like that."

The man then looks at her putting the potion back down. "And that, is a potion." At times, he has a little trouble understanding her accent, but he starts picking up things rather quickly. He's a smart wolfie. Yes he is.

"As for swinging around brutes - what about you? Throwing magic around as if it were nothing. Look more sturdy than most mages I know too." He admits, looking her up and down.

"But no, not a demon. As for what Dark Lord sent me? That'd be..." He suddenly reaches into his pocket, takes out a piece of paper, and reads something off. "Ah, Herba is supposed to be around today..." He crumbles it up, sticks it back into his pocket, and then repeats; "Herba. Though she hasn't a clue who you are, nor does she care." Pause. "Oh, by the way, on the question from a while back. You're not dead. You're just in a different world. And that." Point. "Is a potion. It heals your wounds. Don't they have those where you are from?"
Zia At first, the pale girl just stares at Skoll standing there so coolly on the rooftop. She's never seen a human be so calm up so high, but certainly if he can jump up here, he can survive a fall from that height. "A... werewolf?" Zia asks, raising an eyebrow slowly as some of the pieces start to fall into place. Her blue eyes move from his ears, to his fangs, and finally to the swish of that tail behind him. "Ah always thought werewolves were spoosed te be seven feet tall 'n all fur 'n fangs." She makes a motion of claws in the air, looking at him skeptically. "'n that all they wanted was te bite ye and make ye inte one o' them."

It's probably a stereotypical view of what a werewolf is, not just in her world but across many. Sure, in some worlds werewolves were fiends - or humans twisted into fiends by some disease. "Yer nae gointae bite me, are ye?" She scootches a little back, silently cursing the cloak that is hiding her wings. If she weren't hiding them, maybe she could have just taken flight from here and avoided having to deal with him entirely.

"Ah'm not some damsel in distress, nae." Then, as she shifts, there is a wince of pain in her side and the girl growls under her breath, showing her own fanged teeth for a moment, "Dosnae mean tha it dun hurt." She eyes the potion, and then caution gets set to the backburner in favor of hopefully feeling a bit better after that hammer to the chest. The girl reclaims the little bottle, uncorking it and then muttering a blessing under her breath befoer taking a drink.

Her eyes stay closed in an almost comic way, as if she were afraid that it will taste quite vile. In the end, it's not that bad, really. She scrunches her nose slightly, but a moment after the potion is qualfed, a look of relief spreads on the gargress' face.

"So, ye be some sort o' gentlemen werewolf, then. Commin te the aid of young ladies 'n bashin great thugs like those." With a motion at the street, Zia looks first at the bit of melting ice left behind from the Seeq, and then towards Skoll. "But ye do answer te some Dark Lord, then, meanin that yer not exactly a nice fellow te be hangin around with." She pulls her knees up towards her chest, wrapping one arm around them. "But thank ye anyways. Most o' the time, people dinnae care about creatures like me, other than te get out the pitchforks." With a smirk playing on her lips, there is a sign of that white tail he'd seen earlier, twitching behind her. "Then again, ah guess ye arenae really human, so maybe tha' explains it."
Skoll Ulfang "Seven foot tall, fur, fangs, ears and tail?" Skoll asks the girl, swaying his hip a little to his right and putting a hand to his chin as if he were thoughtful. "Yes, that sounds about right, though most of us doing' quite get to seven-one. Six-eight maybe?" He seems to be taking this so seriously, that it is almost comedical. It doesn't help that his ears perked, and his tail switched, just when she glanced at each. As if they noticed she was staring, and had to say hello.

"Dun worry, the only way to become one of my kind, is to be born as one of us." He then points out, and shakes his head before putting both hands back into his pockets and taking a more relaxed stance. "As for biting you - not unless you ask me to." He looks at her a bit odd, in that 'why would anyone expect me to bite them' kind of way. Still, he just takes the questions in stride. He's sure there's 'other kinds' of werewolves out there.

"As for damsel in distress. Didn't say you were. But you are still a Lady. And you still got hurt. So I could not let you just stumble off hurt or hungry. It'd be most unbefitting of me to do so." He points out, and then watches with a slight glee on his face when she finally decides to drink the potion. He's glad to see the nose-scrunch followed by the look of relief on her face. "Sounds like those are not normal where you come from." He comments.

"But yes, I am a gentleman werewolf. Coming to the aid of ladies everywhere, offering to open their doors, and pull their seats for them to sit on." He'd make an /amazing/ buttler, truly! "And proud warrior." He then adds. Still, when she comments that he does answer to a dark lord, he turns his head away. He doesn't look ashamed, but more like... something is warring deep inside. Something that doesn't easily reach the surface. "Guess not." He admits.

"Still, you're welcome." He bows his head, and puts one foot back. "As for creatures like you. You'll notice that there's quite some worlds out there in the great expanse of them, that have beings like you. Giant talking rats, talking ducks, talking... well... most anything really. You think of it, it probably exists. Doesn't mean you should not be careful - but you do kinda stand out with that robe of yours." He's a bit talkative, isn't he? Still, he's glad to see her smirk.

"Still, you're right. I'm not human myself, so I am /totally/ biassed."
Zia "Now yer jus pullin m' leg." The gargress watches as he seems ever thoughtful about her description of Hollywood werewolves. "Then again, guess most folks arenae exactly wha the legends say. Speakin as a legendary creature m'self." Sure, there is a part of her that is trying to imagine him as a seven foot tall ball of fur and fangs, but at the moment, she can't help but assume that he's just joking with her.

"In our legends, lycanthropy is a disease ye get from bein bitten by the werewolf. It turns ye into one, so tha ye turn into a great droolin wolf durin the full moon." Her voice takes on that storyteller's sort of tone to it, as if she were trying to make it spooky. "It's all bollux, though. Stuff they put on the telly te entertain the humans. Never seen a real werewolf in my world, and ye dun look much like the ones I know 'bout either."

She toys with the potion bottle for a bit longer, taking another drink from it. It's nearly empty now, having been drained quite quickly. "But nae, they dun have these sort of miracles where ah come from. The humans 'ave their doctors, but fer my kind, all we can do is..." She hesitates then, perhaps wary enough to realize that telling him about her kind's greatest weakness might not be a wise decision. Afterall, he does work for a so-called 'Dark Lord' so perhaps he isn't really a good person. "... wait."

His whole bravado seems amusing to her, a small smile playing at the edge of her lips. "Do ye really believe all that? All the chivalry and nobility, stuff. Tha died out /ages/ ago where ah come from. Fro wha ah seen, usually if a male does tha sorta thing, it's 'cause he's lookin for a quick way into a girl's favor." She shrugs, perhaps not exactly buying that he's the spitting image of a noble knight. Last she checked, knights in shining armor don't come with a chance of catching fleas.

"O'course, last ah checked, most nobleman dinnae owe allegiances te Dark Lords, either. So should ah be wary of ye? Gonna try te steal m' soul, or turn m' te the dark side or some nonsense? Or drag m' off in yer chains te kneel before some master?" Her head tilts, watching him with those curious eyes. "Guess, ah had a part te play in getting us inte that mess, though. So, thank ye fer tha, too. Ye might be evil, but ye dinnae seem like a bad guy."

While there might be so many different races here, it doesn't exactly make her feel as if it is safe to walk the streets. "Better te stand out here, then te have people know what ah am. Back in m' world, ah cannae even walk the streets without someone callin me a mosnter. Ah'd rather avoid that fer as long as ah can, here at least." Her head turns away from him again, shielding all but the profile of her face hidden in the shadows of the hood.
Skoll Ulfang "Nope." The wolfish man answers her, "Though you have yet to say what legendary creature you are." He pauses for a moment, and then suddenly points over his shoulder, "By the way, Vampires! Their bite is a disease. Don't let vampires bite you." After all, he figures she may need that hint if he's newly introducing her to the rules of all of this place. "Though I guess, I don't know about werewolves anywhere else. Probably look different from me." Ulfang does see to point out. "I guess, in the end, better not to take the chance." Although really, it's probably a good thing to try and not to get bitten by anyone.

"Still..." Pause. "Bollux?" He tilts his head a little, but extrapolates its meaning from what she says. First time he's heard that word, and it actually has him grinning a little without really knowing why. He shifts his weight a little again, clearly not one to remain entirely still for very long, and carries on to say; "I'm sure they'll get there in due time. All worlds do. Just a little magic, a little alchemy, and ta-da. Potions. Ethers... the whole shabang." The girl probably hasn't a clue what she is talking about.

But when she starts smirking at starts commenting about the whole nobility thing, he straightens himself up and almost looks mildly offended. "Of course I do! Chivalry isn't dead! It is a warrior's duty to be noble and chivalrous!" Pause. "That's what my mom taught me, and that's what I'm sticking with." The man then shakes his head. "Still, nope, not going to steal your soul or turn you to the darkside. What do you think this is, Star Wars?" Seems some things exist in multiple worlds. Point is, turning folk to the dark side is a Shadow Lords thing. The Lords of Gaudium aren't half that... subtle. Not usually.

The image of dragging the girl by the chains to kneel before her master does amuse him though, but only in so much that he shows a smallest of smiles. "Anyhow." Seems he doesn't really want to talk about them. And something else has distracted him. His brow furrows. "Wait, I'm evil?" He seems confused by this, putting a hand to his cheek, and just kind of... frowns at the stars in the sky as he seems to be thinking this through. "Haven't... /done/ anything evil..." Well, there was that one village. But the Lords of Gaudium sent him that way! They stood in their way.

Zia can probably tell the worried and troubled expressions he shows as his mind seems to descend further down along this question, and in the end he just shakes his head and shrugs. "I guess I've done some things for my Lords folk didn't like. But I'm not a bad guy - honest." She already said he didn't seem like one anyhow. "But yes, best not stand out I guess. Though I've long since stopped bothering. Nobody else does, y'know? And I can fend for myself if someone has a problem with my looks."
Zia "Oh, werewolves are nice 'n noble, but vampires are evil vile diseased things. Ah get it now." The girl certainly sounds amused, shaking her head from side to side. "Strange worlds." She's quicker than most to come to grips with the fact that there are many worlds, perhaps because of her understanding of magic and the way it works within her reality. So many things that were mere fantasy did exist, just not within the sight of mortal eyes. Now, more and more of those things were slipping through the cracks.

"Oh, I meante say that they're jus' stories." She's not used to dealing with people questioning her accent, and the girl rubs at the side of her head in confusion. "Bollux is... well." Her lips press together. "Ye know how sometimes slang can have lotsa meanings? Its' like tha. Bollux is ... ye know, a lad's two best friends." She points at his crotch quickly, then looks away again with a small, shy expression. "Callin somethin bollux is sayin it's nae true. Then again, sayin somethin's the dog's bollux is saying it's good." She shrugs her shoulders. Language - go figure.

She doesn't really have much to say on the matter of his chivalry, or if he's good or evil. Zia isn't one to speak about it, especially as she hasn't always been an angel of pure light, herself. "Ah guess people are more 'bout their actions. So ah dunno if yer evil or if ye be an angel. It doesnae matter te me other tha what ye do. No' everyone can is some pure hearted fairytail princess or prince." Zia certainly doesn't fall into that category, and she has her doubts that the chivarous werewolf does either.

After waiting for a time, trying to get a feel for just how he'll react to her, Zia finally seems to accept that if he is a werewolf, then maybe he isn't as much of a threat as a human. Slowly, she lowers the hood of her cloak, revealing those long pointed ears and white hair. From beneath her cloak, the girl's wings shift a little, showing a hint of webbing from beneath. "Ah'm a gargoyle. As much a creature of the night as werewolves or vampires. Most humans think we're demons, or monsters. Tha's why ah havete hide. It's a fair bit be'ta then the alternative." She is quite a pretty thing, if you can get past the inhuman features and the bandages that cover most of her visible limbs.
Skoll Ulfang "Well, in this case." Skoll comments, seeming to share her bemusement with this little conversation they are having. "The worlds are strange, but it's when you get used to strange, that normal will seem the most odd." Skoll points out, suggesting that he's been wandering worlds for quite a while now. And Zia would probably realize at a later time, that this is an immensely rare thing at this time. After all, had the portals not only just come to be?

The continues explaination of what Bollux is, has the wolf grin a rather dopey grin, "Ahh, the slang that people come up with sometimes." He shakes his head, both bemused and a little disturbed. "Dog's bollux huh?" He makes the offhanded comment, his tail flicking a little as if to point out that she made a rather strange statement around someone who would clearly be related to dogs.

"Still, 'yer right, people are more about their actions. But I am /pretty/ sure I am neither evil nor an angel. Can't say I've ever met any in the latter category - too much of a pain to be like that." He explains. "Though I guess pure-hearted fairytale princesses are around and about, and the same with the princess and all that. They're not as boring as they stories would make you think though." Another shrug. "Or so they tell me." Nope, not met one yet.

And then, her hood comes down. The yellow wolf-eyes come up to get a better look at her - catching sight of her eyes first, then the flowing white hair. Indeed, she's quite the thing to look at, and Ulfang changes the way he stands in order to get a better angle on her. It's not much of a shift, really. "Demons huh? Well, I guess people do hate demons usually. The wings and all that... people get scared or jealous." He noticed the webbing. He's reminded of Sarafina in that moment, from that little interaction he had in Traverse Town a little while back.
Zia "Well, ah've seen quite a bit o' the strange in m' own world, so ah dinnae think much will really surprise me." Then, the girl hesitates, looking over at his tail. "Well, maybe somethings." She admits.

His comment about the 'dog's bollux' has her looking over at him with a laugh on her lips, "I wouldnae know 'bout tha first hand. Suppose ye'd have te tell me if the stories have any merit te them." She finally downs the last of the poition, although it doesn't seem to quite do enough to rid her completely of the uncomfortable feeling in her chest. Bruised ribs maybe? Either way, she scootches back to lean against part of the roof. "Suppose ah'll 'ave to see if the stories 'bout princes and princesses hold much truth te them, too."

She uses the corner of the roof to push herself up, getting to her feet. It isn't so bad, moving like this. Nothing a day of stone sleep won't cure. "Scared mostly. Humans are always scared o the things they dinnae understand." She lets her wings stretch a little. "Anyways, ah should get goin. Needtae figure out if there's a way back te m' own world from here. Kinda got sidetracked te start with."

She inclines her head, ears folding back slightly. They are nearly as expressive as a wolf's own ears, even if they look different. "Was nice meetin ye, Skoll Ulfang." With her accent, his name sounds almost... regal. Like some ancient viking warrior or something. Then, she takes a few steps, leaping off of the roof. Those wings catch her on the way down, carrying her upward, her white form disappearing within that ever-evening sky.
Skoll Ulfang Tailswish. The young man follows her gaze, and nods a little. "Yeah, I think you to be wrong there - there will be plenty of things that'll surprise you. Just take them in stride. Everyone does." He shrugs his shoulders a little then, and continues on to snicker a little about the further comments she pulls about the dog's bollux. "I'm a werewolf, not a dog." He sees fit to point out.

The man then glances down at the bottom of the building, and up to her again. "Anyhow. If you must be going - I wish you good luck finding your world. But one piece of advice - don't wander into portals other people open, stick to the ones that have been laid out between the worlds. It'll be safer." He doesn't go into the details of that, and instead turns around...

And does exactly what he warned her off. "It was nice to meet you... mysterious gargess." A flow of darkness pops out of nowhere, and Skoll steps into it, only to have it close behind him and have him disappear permanently.
