Traverse Maniacs Vol. IV
(2012-10-05 - 2012-10-05)
The fourth article! Is our intrepid journalist's attempt to chronicle the life cycle of the golden beast of the West futile?! Also, voodoo, hoodoo, and things you ain't even tried!
Merilan Yursalin (More Missing People requests have turned up on the pages of Traverse Maniacs. The Edgar request has a faithfully drawn copy of a certain martial artist's rendition of his regal brother, as mimicked by a Tiny Esper with the drawing skills of a six year old.)

* Missing: Percival, Dragoon Knight of Baron - Your daughter Nagetta is looking for you! But, she says that Baron has become a very dangerous place to visit, so she's trying to reach a place called 'Troia'. I don't know why she says Troia specifically, but I heard elsewhere that Troia is full of beautiful women. ... ... ... D-Don't make your daughter worry, please! The family must come first!

* Missing: Edgar. Your younger brother Sabin is looking for you as well! He describes you as having a fine appreciation for wooing the laddies. He apparently is very fond of his long spear and wrench! I wasn't able to get much more detail from him, before I had to leave, but as brothers he must be just as big, perhaps even bigger as he's the older brother! So everyone, please look out for an extremely big, flirtatious blonde man!

>> SHADOWY! The Emporium down by the Bayou...?!

I visited Dr. Facilier's Voodoo Emporium the other day.

Wow! What a trip. I've never seen anything quite like it, or like anything that's down in New Orleans!

He sang me a vivacious and bombastic song about his hometown. It went something like...

In the southlands, as he tells me, there's a city,
Way down on the river where the grass is green,
And the women are very pretty, take me home,
Take me down to the Paradise City...

...hmm... it doesn't sound right. I'll have to have him sing it for me again!

But, everyone! This mysterious but courteous man has voodoo, and hoodoo, and all sorts of things I haven't even tried! So, the next time you're around Easy Street in District 1, please give the Emporium a try, it'll be an experience you won't soon forget. It's your one-stop shop for some shadowy fun!

>> FEROCIOUS! The power-sliding beast of the Western Big Apple...?!

Everyone, just because we face the Heartless threat doesn't mean that other native threats become less so!

To this extent I'd like to cover a mysterious golden beast that I've encountered down in the extremely lively and different world of Manhattan! The natives call it the 'Cab', but I have also seen others more formally describe it as the 'Taxi'.

This belligerent golden beast is composed entirely out of metal, much like some armored knight Heartless and iron golems are...! As such, physical weapons and attacks are going to not phase them much. Perhaps, elemental magics and especially lightning would be effective.

They're also known to kidnap humans! I've on many occasions seen people inside of them... mumu, this dastardly beast which is like the caged Heartless...! So, everyone, please be careful when attacking the Taxi, as you may be injuring innocent captives! I-in addition, perhaps they have mind control abilities...?! Because it seems like people are protective of the Taxi!

When engaging one, they have the ability to shine bright light and emit a horrific noise! So, keep your distance and stay in their blind spot! In addition, they seem vulnerable to mysterious lights scattered throughout Manhattan, so check these lights regularly:

* When it's red, they must stop. A good chance to attack!
* When it's green, they go. Roll and evade! A guard is not going to be enough!
* When it's yellow, they REALLY come at you! Don't get in this situation!

I imagine that if you were able to bring a taxi down, their golden bodies could be worth much Munny... but, everyone, please don't get greedy!

Good luck, everyone, and please engage the Taxi one at a time, not in groups!
