Avira As dawn falls upon Lindblum, a huge airship pulls into the dock presented by the amazing Lindblum castle. As the sun fades, lights begin to twinkle on in the city, giving way to what would no doubt be a spectacular view below once the sun has set completely. Passengers flock from the airship, the bulk of which, for the most part, are not natives to this city, identifiable by the wide swath of different clothing types, if not straight up races that this place has never seen.

"That was over way too soon!" Avira seems reluctant to depart the ship and, in fact, must be physically pulled along by her smaller companion-a moogle. "We're going to ride it back, right? Please? I really don't think we can walk back to Rabanastre from here, right?"

The moogle turns on her, somehow managing to look intimidating for a few seconds. Maybe it's the way his fur stands on end. Maybe it's how tightly his little fists are balled. Maybe it's the brief moment where those cute little button eyes reflect the loathing of a thousand jilted girlfriends. "We /have/ to take it back and I know you noticed!" he snaps, "But you know what I've noticed? We only have enough money for /one/ ticket back! So unless you scrounge up some change before the next flight leaves, I am going to be going back -solo-!"

Avira's overexcitement quickly fizzles away. "Errr well...this place is big..." she says sheepishly, tapping her fingers together, "...I'm sure there's somewhere where we-"

The moogle glares.

"-I can make a little extra cash."
Merilan Yursalin Three days ago, Merilan arrived in Lindblum after being so remarkably lost she's managed to wander on over an entire continent southward.

Then she got hit in the head by a passing aircab.

Yeah.

Since then, the Aegyl's made a pretty good recovery; she's still quite wobbly on her feet, and her head still has bandages under the red headscarf she wears, but she can only stay inside for so long before she wants to go see what this city is all about.

"Ah, thank you for taking me to see the city, Miss Lia..." Merilan says warmly, looking towards her woofly companion. They've just arrived to where the airship stations are within the Castle itself. "It's... it's all quite amazing, really."

Traya and Lemy have hovered in a foot away from her, gobbling on some oglop pickles, a Lindblum delicacy. 'Delicacy'. Their faces look a little green.
Lia Tobutori "To be honest, I've yet to see it all, so I'm afraid I'm not that good a guide. I've never exactly gotten used to a city this enormous." The Aegyl's companion is... actually looking a little lost on where to go. And when a six foot woman with big floppy dog ears is feeling lost you tend to know about it in Lindblum, as she manages to simultaneously tower over most of the crowd and also look about as comical as a big old stoic guard /can/ ever look, what with the quite literal hang-dog look and the ears drooping either side of her face.

Dragging Merilan out this far has mostly been a random whim, then, in hopes that something along the way might spark an idea in the Aegyl's head as to what to investigate further. As such, she's really just standing there or else following the winged woman around, dispensing what tidbits of knowledge she does know about the city. "Mostly, it's divided into several distinct districts. The Castle runs all the cars between them, and is pretty lax about letting people in to see the place at times."
Nagetta Of course Nagetta stands out in most places that she goes to beginning with. Still that's not going to stop her travelling. She does need to find a way to reach Troia and with all the different airships here, it's a good place to start. She does get quite a few strange looks as she makes her way through the city, but she doesn't let that stop her. Noticing Merilan, she smiles and waves to the winged woman.
Raiya Fujihara The night view here was beautiful. At first, Raiya had reservations about coming to such a technology heavy area. Wutai had its own share of technology, but it never let its technological pursuits outweigh its cultural ones. However, now that Wutai has allied with the Heartless...all bets are off when it comes to what Wutai will and will not do. This place was also the opportune location to find passage -into- Wutai which is exactly why Raiya is here. And now that the night has ended and dawn has arrived, Raiya is off to seek passage once more. The night-owl of a samurai frowns slightly as she moves from her perch at the castle's skydock where she had watched the moon fall and the sun rise. Where to even begin?

Lowering her hat slightly, the purple and black clad samurai wanders through the crowd. There are actually many familiar faces in the crowd which is not all that unusual these days with how interconnected the different worlds are. It is Sabin which draws the woman's attention first. She never got around to exchanging words with this...gentleman the last time they met. It seems now that the blonde woman is about to change that. "Martial Artist," addresses Raiya to Sabin for she does not know his name. "Were you successful in your duel against your fellow martial artist in the town called 'Costa del Sol'?" Raiya did not catch the end of that dangerous yet impressive fight and she is quite interested in knowing the outcome.
Avira "I am going to map." The moogle says irritably. "And once I've finished, I'm getting on the next ship out of here. Whether or not you come back with me depends on if you have the money." He jabs a furry finger up at Avira, then whirls around, storming off. The fuzzy little ball of anger pushes past Lia and Merilan, going between them, and not even looking back at either as he does so.

Avira sighs, pushing her fingers against her temple, and looks around. Surely there had to be some means of making money around here...

She actually doesn't recognize Sabin at first glance because he isn't nearly naked. When she double takes, though, she catches sight of the huge blonde and brightens. Enboldened, she starts to stroll over to him, recalling his previous offer for duels for money. But as she walks over...in her mind...

0Slow-mo sequence of events of Sabin's ham-sized fist punching Avira in the jaw.
0Slow-mo sequence of Avira falling back on the ground, bouncing once, while someone shouts 'KO!!'
0Slow-mo seqence of Avira dropping all her cash down on potions.

Avira shakes her head. "...that's not going to work at all..." Yet she walks over to him anyway, if only so she can say, "Hi." and give a sideways glance to Raiya, "I saw the end of it. It, uh...looked like it ended in a draw."
Merilan Yursalin Merilan takes it all in stride, in the end. She smiles widely to Lia as they look over the rest of the Castle and expresses, "It's alright. I'm having a lot of fun just wandering about the city with you," with her hands behind her back.

The Aegyl puts her hands out to the rails as she watches the latest of airships pull in. "Maybe... Maybe I can take one when I go back north?" A pause, and a little 'nnn', looking back to Lia... and, the lamia that's just arrived out of the airship!

"Ah, Miss Nagetta! Hello!" She waves happily towards the lamia, walking halfway towards her. "Goodness, I wasn't expecting to see you here."

Traya wanders on over - she's a green-haired, tiny Esper with a 8D kind of face and a black robe and and is wearing a black sock for a hat. She's also picking up one of Sabin's fliers. Merp?

She shakes the sheet of paper like it's got treasure inside. The Esper also catches wind of Raiya and Avira, and waves cheerfully at them.
Nagetta "Hello Merlian. With all the airships here, I was hoping to find one that could take me to Troia." Nagetta explains what's she doing here as the winged woman approaches her. She notices the man who was in the speedo at the beach is also her. She blushes once again for some reason, not fully understanding why. She looks at the fliers being handled out a bit confused. "What's a laddie and why would someone woo them?"
Lia Tobutori It doesn't honestly take a whole lot to put poor Lia on alert, and as Merilan calls out she very nearly mistakes the approaching person for an outright monster, somehow travelled straight through Lindblum's defences. The use of an actual name staves off her worry, though, and then the rest of Merilan's cheery sentence dispels it entirely to leave Lia with no other real option but to walk forward in turn, shaking her head very vaguely at herself.

"Someone you recognize?" she asks, but that seems a bit pointless at this juncture, so she continues to the lamia. "My apologies. I'd thought you were... ah... well, that it was a different situation entirely, in fact. It's quite a surprise to find someone such as yourself around this area." Says the woman with big floppy dog ears, please bear in mind, in the city where there's a GWAR HAR HAR tapir and a monkey boy also running around. She punctuates her apology with a slight bow and a rather rueful expression, just for good measure.

Chances are pretty high that's her damn sock the Yarhi straight-up stole, too. Just putting that out there.
Raiya Fujihara The welcome sight of Merilan's esper friend causes Raiya to return a small friendly wave, her armguards showing prominently when her sleeves move from this action. It other courtesies, Nagetta gets a similarly friendly treatment while Avira gets more of a neutral nod in both greeting and in acknowledgement over the information that was just given to her. A draw? Strange that a match that heated would end in such a way. Perhaps they both tired each other out.

Sabin's flyer is thrust towards Raiya's chest and she intercepts it with a quick grab. The martial artist really would have had no where to stick the flyer anyways since Raiya keeps her assets wrapped securely unlike many of her less caring peers. The quick fingered samurai looks at the crudely drawn picture and then back up at Sabin. "Your friend has gone missing I see. This is the same person who were looking for at Costa del Sol?" The samurai does not wait for an answer. "Your dedication to finding your friend is quite admireable. I wish you luck."

The stranger in the group is now given a glance of consideration. She's not quire seen someone like that before, but she adeptly resists the urge to tug at Lia's droopy ears. How adorable. Other than what she said to Sabin, Raiya seems to be dutifully playing the part of the near silent samurai it seems.
Avira Avira looks down at an odd noise and notices something unusual: someone shorter than she is! (Well, not too unusual when moogles and full-blooded nu mou are taken into account.) "Hey I know you.." she murmurs, peering down at the tiny esper. Lifting a hand, she wiggles her fingers at Traya to wave.

Distracted, she is, for the moment, unaware that Sabin is about to cram one of his flyers down her breastplate/into her face. In fact, she goes right on remaining unaware because Sabin is intercepted by the lamia that Avira has seen lurking around on a few occasions. When she does look up, she's able to pluck the flyer out of Sabin's outstretched hand to look at.

"Ummm, Sabin I hate to say this, but I don't think I'm getting the needed level of detail out of this flyer to help you find your friend." Sadly, Sabin is being compared to Riku's pretty amazing drawing skills.

She shows the flyer to Nagetta, "Seriously, does this help you at all?"
Merilan Yursalin "Ooh..." Merilan nods in turn to Nagetta, nodding with some sympathy towards her. "I hope you do find it, Miss Nagetta."

She turns around to Lia, perhaps relieved that she didn't really have to do anything before Lia stops herself on account of her knowing about it. She smiles warmly at her and answers. "Ah, yes, I met her up north in ... Luca, I believe?" A pause. "Hmm... I think my head's still a bit foggy after that hit..."

Meanwhile, over at Sabin and Raiya, Traya giggles and twirls at Avira... then, she folds a paper airplane out of the Figaro brother's flyer, and then proceeds to ride it back to Merilan. XD!

"Ah... another missing person? Perhaps I can write about it in the periodical..." Merilan muses, as she unfolds the flyer.
Nagetta "Well, I don't think there's many people who walk around carrying an arrow and a fork." Nagetta tries to put up a positive spin on it. "Yes, it was Luca. That hit? Who hit you. That's rather mean." She comments not fully aware of what's going on here. "Thank you. I'm Nagetta." She smiles and offers a hand out to Lia.
Lia Tobutori Lia takes the offered hand with a huffed chuckle and a shake of her head. "Lia Tobutori. It's a pleasure. As for Merilan, an entire airship did, I'm afraid. I had rather distracted her with talk, and Lindblum's skies tend to be rather full of them. The next thing I knew, Merilan was spiralling down into my arms. I've ended up having to put her up for a couple of days." Oh /my/. It's a perfectly accurate report of events, but the samurai is a terribly poor and blinkered soul. Either that, or she's mildly relishing getting her own back in the most deadpan fashion possible.

"Should I assume you're also from, ah-- Traverse Town, was it? I understand most of the world travellers are forging a base there," she continues, one ear cocking in curiosity. The last time she met a lamia she was probably fulfilling a clan job to kill 15 of them to get 2 gold pieces and a set of Ratty Pants, knowing Ivalice.
Raiya Fujihara While Sabin's attempt to find his friend through flyer's might not quite work, he does make a memorable impression for better or for worse. That just might help Sabin find Edgar faster than anything else. Raiya nods her head politely in response. People sure will talk.

And speaking of that, Raiya's mouth curls into a smile at the whole Sabin-Avira drawing thing. Traya being cute as usual actually causes the samurai to chuckle softly. It is a fine thing to find such light-heartedness and innocence in this day and age. Maybe Raiya should surround herself with this sort of people more often.
Nagetta "Oh, I'm sorry to hear that! I'm sure getting hit in the head with one of those large aircraft would hurt." Nagetta nods at that. "Traverse Town? No, I haven't been there yet. I'm from Eblan, at least I was until the city got attacked..." She frowns a bit as she says that.
Merilan Yursalin "Oh. Umm, actually, it's my... fault," Merilan expresses shyly to Nagetta in turn, pointing to the bandages over her head. "I wasn't looking where I was going and -- wam! -- one of those... airships... crashed into my head." She nods at Lia as she reaffirms her memory.

She gestures warmly to Lia and says, "If Miss Lia wasn't there to save me, I would've been in a much worse state." Someone is terribly immune or does not understand deadpan in her own way, it seems. She turns towards the woofly samurai again to bow gently. "Thank you again!" Her smile is bright once more.

Merilan does catch Raiya and Avira speaking to the giant man-mountain, but isn't really wanting to interrupt their conversation.
Avira Argh tiny espers, WHY ARE YOU SO ADORABLE and distracting!! Avira can't help but watch at the antics, up to the point where her distraction nearly makes her miss the devistating impact her words have on Sabin. It's the tone in his voice that really clues her in and right away, she looks up at the towering blonde, who is staring her down with a dumbfounded look on his face.

"Well...uh..." she says awkwardly, holding up the flyer. "I mean like...not good at showing that it's your friend. See...uh...that face on there. It could belong to anyone with two eyes and a mouth. That likes the ladies." Which reduces it to most of the male population.

She's trying, really trying, to be as gentle as possible with this, only now realizing how harsh those words are and-suddenly Avira is baffled. This guy had a body of steel but the feelings of a marshmallow. How the hell does that happen!? "...if anything at least get some hair color on there..."
Lia Tobutori The dogeared woman - well, Nu Mou Eared, but that slips much harder off the tongue and doesn't let the player make The Littlest Hobo jokes every ten seconds - only puts her hands up in placation, glancing at the lamia next to her as if to ask whether this always happens. "There's really no need to keep thanking me, I promise you. I was simply doing what anyone--" Lia cuts herself off to frown, ever a realist. "--what anyone decent would have done, at least. I'd quite happily do so again."

That said, she nods back to Nagetta, her face falling as she scratches lightly at her cheek. "I'm afraid I haven't heard of the place... that said, I haven't really been travelling around much after I settled down here. Most of the worlds I passed through on my way here, I didn't exactly stop in for long."
Merilan Yursalin It's true, Tiny Espers are the smartest! It's dangerous to go alone. Take them with you. *merrrp*

"A-ah," Merilan stammers, nodding in turn to Lia's expression towards her. "No, I don't think I plan on getting hit by an airship again, if I can help it... I'm still dizzy at times, haha."

She looks back to Nagetta, nodding in turn and saying, "I'm going to keep travelling once I recover, and Miss Lia's offered to help me back to Traverse as well. Maybe if we catch wind of it along the way, I'll definitely let you know!"

Meanwhile during all of this, Lemy's gotten stuck in the oglop pickle jar and has contracted the Poison status effect. DX!
Raiya Fujihara As much as Raiya would like to stay, she is not any closer to finding a way into Wutai. Sure it might not be a smartest thing to do, but some things you just have to do. The still quiet Wutai warrior dips her head respectfully to those present before turning to leave, her katana swaying back and forth as she moves.

Raiya now departs from the small assembled group in subdued, even steps with her hat being tilted down slightly as she walks.
Nagetta "Well, maybe I should go there next. If there's a lot of people there, maybe one of them knows where Troia is." That makes sense to Nagetta at least. "If they won't be afraid of me there that is." A lot of people aren't used to seeing lamia, especially the friendly kind.

Her attention turns towards Sabin. "He looks like someone punched him really hard?" That's the impression she was geting from it.
Lia Tobutori The samurai deadpans once again in Merilan's direction. "... I didn't mean the 'getting hit' part, just the helping out... haaah... in any case," she adds, brightening up towards the lamia, "From what Merilan said, that does seem like a good idea. Apparently, the Town is quite a melting-pot of people. Assuming you're already making use of her services, I suppose," she adds, thinking immediately of the newspaper's mission people column. "I suppose if they're fine with wings and ears, they ought to be fine with tails and the like as well."
Avira Oh no he's going to cry this will be so embarassing but on the other hand then Avira will get to put 'made grown man cry' on her resume. That's good for an aspiring pirate, right? They make people cry all the time.

Frankly, Avira's more relieved that Sabin calms down and actually goes about "fixing" the pictures. She would have felt bad if he got THAT upset anyway, she realizes. Unfortunately....

Sabin goes about imposing his head on the stick figure body and making a hilarious face. Naturally, her reaction to this is to start laughing. "Oh! Ohhahahahaa-well-heee..." she holds up her hand for a moment so she can laugh more and catch her breath, "Ohh well if that's what he looks like, I'll have /no/ problem spotting him. I'll just look for the blonde guy with the funny face that makes me laugh."

A sly grin crosses her face, "You'll want to go around like that to everyone here, you realize, so they all have a good idea how to spot Edgar."
Merilan Yursalin Merilan just smiles warmly in the face of Lia's deadpanness. Hohoho. "Ah, I haven't thought of that yet, but, if there's anything you need me to write about to bring people's attentions, Miss Nagetta, please just let me know."

She looks back to Lia and nods in turn. "Yes... I've seen -- so many kinds of people, from all sorts of different cultures. It's quite... remarkable, really. If it weren't so many people and places being lost, I'd say this is an amazing thing that has happened... but, I shouldn't really say that."

She peers towards where Avira and Sabin are talking. Is... is the man-mountain going to cry? And where did Traya go--

Before the Aegyl even knows it... the Tiny Esper has gone on to sit straight on top of Sabin's Flat Top.
Nagetta "Well, I'm looking for a dragoon knight named Percival. He's my adopted father, I thought he might of went to Baron after the attack. But it's too dangerous to go there right now, so I was going to look in Troia." Nagetta does her best to explain things to Merilan. She looks at the picture that Sabin drew again. "Maybe I should try drawing a picture, that might help!" She's suddenly inspired. "Well, if I can fit in there, that's even better." It would certainly make things easier for her.
Merilan Yursalin "Ooh... okay, okay, you should've told me earlier," Merilan smiles in turn, handing her a copy of the periodical, Traverse Maniacs. "I've been helping people try to find others by writing about it in my newspaper." She jots the details down quickly, and nods to the lamia in turn. "Don't worry, I'll definitely write about it!"

And that, in turn, is probably how Merilan spends the next three hours panickedly flying around Lindblum (and hopefully not getting hit by another airship) trying to find her tiny Esper.

Traya herself is probably going to perfectly mimick the derp on Sabin's face, and they are going to be an unstoppable force.
Avira He takes his hand in hers and Avira looks demure for a second. "Oh it was nothing..." she titters, "I just hope you find Edgar one day!" -that part is actually pretty sincere. She's felt pretty sad every time she's heard a story about being separated from friends and family as of late. Still, it would be nice to be able to ask a favor of this guy in the future.

Sabin promptly runs off to show all of Lindblum just how to spot his brother. To be fair, it really is an accurate representation of Edgar, right down to the spindly body (compared to Sabin's meaty greatness of course!).

Only once he's gone though, "-damn it, I should have asked to borrow some money." she realizes, kicking at the ground.
