No description.
David Xanatos After a long delay, put forth as Xanatos wotking on defensive plans, Aerith is admitted to the Office of Xanatos. The man sits behind his desk and gestures toward a chair to his left behind his desk. "Mistress Aerith. Please, sit. Forgive me, but I currently am very short on time, so you will be learning by observation. Feel free to offer helpful insight, but do not address our guest unless he addresses you first." He bows his head and takes out a piece of paper and goes over the terms of address. Then he hands it to Aerith.
Aerith Aerith took the paper from Xanatos before setting it on the table. The man didn't know that she'd spent so much time around Zargabaath, she knew how to address him in both casual and formal situations. And here, it was formal. "I understand. Fortunately for me..." She pulled a small notebook with a pen attached to it from the inside folds of her denim jacket. "I don't just observe." With that, she opened it and prepared to be taught...
Zargabaath Xanatos would receive a minor alert on a small ship arriving, but not at the front door of the building. Rather, the small airship is landing in the courtyard or the Castle, above them. While there might be security in the castle and lower, the metal these guys are carrying looks like they could stave off the security with a glare. A few soldiers as well as a couple of Judges surround one central figure and escort him down to Xanatos' office a floor or two below. Once out of the elevator, They follow the same guard protocols until the two judges and this man is in the office. The guards take up guard positions outside of the office. The judges stand on either side of the door....

And Judge Magister Zargabaath stands before Xanatos. "Mister Xanatos, I presume." He says in that rather intimidating, officer-like voice of his. However, his helmeted head turns slightly. "Lady Aerith. I didn't expect to see you here." He then bows respectfully to her.
Aerith Aerith smiled at a man one should not be able to smile at. "Your Honor." Yup, formal time. She turned back to Xanatos. "Do you need me out of the way, or should I just stay seated?"
David Xanatos "Judge Magister Zargabaath. Welcome to my home." Xanatos says as he stands and then bows to the man and his entourage. He gestures to waiting chairs and says with that slight smile of his, "Please. Be seated." Then he gestures to Aerith and says "Miss Aerith here is my student and is here as observer." He then takes his own chair and steeples his fingers. "Now. How may we be of service to your honor?"
Zargabaath "You'll understand if I stand, Mister Xanatos. I've been seated on the way here and I'm eager to stretch out my legs." He then opens his legs a little bit and seems to relax in a modified parade ground stance. "I've done a bit of research on your culture, and I'm sure you've done some on mine. Thankfully my envoy has been able to give you a modest education on some of the finer points of Ivalice and the Laws of Archadia. However, this isn't about that."

He then takes a deep breath. "I have it on good authority that Manhattan will be the next target of Baron and their invasion force....."
David Xanatos "Indeed." Xanatos says looking over his steepled fingers. "Your Honor is of course quite correct." He studies Zargabaath as he prepares in his head his next set of words. It takes him only a matter of seconds to size up the Magister and be confident in his knowlege. "Baigan is an arrogant fool, but he is one with an army. And he has these Forces of Shadow in an alliance. Therefore I have been preparing for their arrival." He nods to Aerith to let her know she can say anything she may have as far as information. "There is a labyrnth below the city that I believe is generating Heartless, as well as something in this area that they want. I'm hoping during their combined assault that I believe will happen in the next few days, they will tip their hand and we will learn mroe about them."
Aerith All right, that was new... Aerith did not know about that. They were looking for something... and there wasn't just a mad scientist doing something horrible to people. Of course, she felt she needed to mention this... "There was someone down there experimenting on the Heartless, and people that he pulled from the streets. It was like nothing I'd ever seen, absolutely horrifying." And it'd pissed her off enough to use a certain something she hadn't put to use until then. "I think his name was Doctor Sevarius." She looked up from her notebook, where she'd written the information about the underground, still being in a rather dangerous place. "He's in police custody, but the results of his experiments have broken out of the little lab he had set up. They could be anywhere in the city."
Zargabaath Zargabaath says, "I have been gathering information about them as well, Mister Xanatos. Mostly the heartless and how to destroy them. However, should they decide to bring the full might of their 'fleet'...." he even airquotes it. ".....to bear upon Manhattan, I can offer you a small amount of backup. In the form of the 12th Archadian Airship Fleet, with the flagship of the Archadian Airship Armada, the Alexander." He then gestures to the Judges behind him. "Also, We have numerous Judges in the 12th fleet, of all different skills, but they are the elite of the Archadian Forces." That also says something if he's a Judge Magister, a rank above them.

However, his attention is drawn to Aerith. "What sort of experiments was he performing? How to change people into heartless, or worse? If there's even a worse than that.""
David Xanatos David Xanatos leans back in his chair and turns slightly with fingers still sttepled to look at Aerith, waiting for he rot answer the Judge's question.
Aerith Aerith shook her head. "If it were that, the whole underground would have been leveled. No, he was modifying them." The flowergirl shivered. "I don't even want to know how he was capable of doing it, but he's also responsible for a creature named Fang. Apparently he can mess with genetics."
Zargabaath Zargabaath seemed to think about it for a minute or so before taking a deep breath. "That definitely complicates things." He then looks over his right shoulder at one of the Judges. "Also, there were rumors of a rather powerful person in Manhattan somewhere. Capable of incredible holy and cleasing powers, among other things. Have you....." he then shakes his head. "No....I'd better not ask if you felt it."
David Xanatos His fingers still yet steepled, Xanatos looks back to Zargabaath when he speaks. Then after a moment's consideration he speaks. "Your honor, we would of course gladly accept your nations assistance in these troubled times. However, the Mutates, a situation we in Manhattan have been aware of for quite some time, are not powerful enough, nor hold enough population to upset the balance of power occuring here. Certianly some of them cna be reasoned with as they were once human, but others are merely feral beings who like the dogs they were modeled after now obey their beast of a master." He takes a deep breath and lets it out. "The Doctor I assure you will be interrogated. If you with it Your Honor, a man of your station must be fully capable of such a feat, I could easily enough find a way to get your honor in on such an interrogation should you so desire."
Zargabaath Zargabaath holds up his hand to stall Xanatos. "Not my nation, just the 12th fleet. If you got the entire nation, you'd be visited by five Judge Magisters, not just me." He makes a face at that too. Bergan nor Ghis would have the tolerance for these sort of meetings." However, the master part does scatch his attention. "You mean like a Shadow Lord?"
Aerith She hadn't taken any other notes yet. No, nothing she had to understand was really mentioned, nor did she pick up anything. Still she listened, because it was interesting to understand how these mutates worked... not to mention they could be somewhat troubling.
David Xanatos "Your Honor's help in questioning this individual would be most appreciated." Xanatos says easily. Then he nods again, "The 12th then your Honor, forgive my misunderstanding." He leans back in hsi chair. "If I am not being so bold as to ask Your Honor, when can we expect the 12th's arrival? As I said, I believe the enemy will be here soon."
Zargabaath Zargabaath says, "The 12th has all ready been mobilized, but Airships are slow moving. The 12th may be slightly late to the battle, even if we take a portal directly here. However, what they lack in speed, they make up for in firepower. There ARE smaller, one man airships, but without support, they are shot down rather quickly." Any military mind would recognize the configurations. Large battleships and carriers, with frigates and destroyers, defended by smaller fighters."
Aerith And while Aerith was not of a military bent, she did know that without something to distract the things that shot at them, those big airships would provide a mighty fine target for anything that could pierce through their hulls. She didn't take a note of this either, it was obvious.
David Xanatos David Xanatos nods to Zargabaath. "Most excellent Your Honor. I and the people of this city are grateful for your assistance in these troubling times." He gestures as he speaks. "We will begin preparations to make port for these ships as the city prepares for battle."
Zargabaath Zargabaath says, "Not necessary, Mister Xanatos. If you follow me up to the castle upon your....roof, you'll find that we have plenty of dropships, and the Airships float in the air without effort." He then flexes his fingers a bit. "However, as we descended here, we saw something resembling a place for airships to take off.....I think you call it an.....airport. The 12th might disrupt your airports for a short time.""
Aerith Aerith's eyes narrowed slightly in focus as she put her notepad down and just... listened. They were talking about the preparations for the defense, but what weren't they saying? She knew Xanatos was measuring him, probably already had. Zarg didn't need to measure the man behind the desk, not yet. David didn't raise any of his red flags, and she knew he had them.

No, note taking was out of the window for now...
David Xanatos Standing from behind his desk, Xanatos nods to Zargabaath. "I will get this information to the Airport authorities." He comes around the desk and holds out his hand to Zargabaath. "In my word we shake when bussiness is concuded and we have come to an accord. Which I believe we have Your Honor."
Zargabaath Zargabaath nods quietly and shakes hands with Xanatos. "I understand, Mister Xanatos. I do, however, have a request. I've been following the patternof Baron, and they will surely attack Archadia when we arrive on the scene. Can you assist us when they attack Archadia? Lord Solidor may not like it, but, under the circumstances, I don't care."
Aerith Aerith smiled. So he'd remembered what she told him... doing the right thing sometimes meant you had to do it on your own, but in the end it would get you far better than if you'd done it the easy way. She said nothing, but the smile persisted.
Zargabaath "I imagine you'll let me know your answer later. I hope for a positive response, Mister Xanatos." He says before bowing to Aerith, then leaving with his Retinue following. It's not long before he's in the dropship and heading back through the portal to the Alexander.
