Angantyr Vespar Angantyr's outfit for manhattan didn't change a whole lot. Chainmail exists in both places, except now it kinda combines pieces of more modern material. The helmet more of a open ended affair with a clear material over his face. The man had answered the call to Manhattan, wanting to forget about his last adventure and how it ended, instead focusing on killing heartless that he came across. However, for everyone one he killed, three took their place. When things got too hairy, he portaled away, and tended to avoid patrols. He was moving in a very specific pattern. Killing heartless in an area to draw them out...

Allowing a larger group of fighters to move in and ambush them after he portaled out. The coordinated efforts were starting to help...maybe. However, they just kept coming.

After one such ambush, Angantyr sat down listening to the sounds of the battle finish. Taking a moment to rest and eat something, taking his helmet off, placing it beside him, while his mace sat leaned against the light pole near him. It would be a lie to say people weren't wary of him...his abilities are the same as those they were fighting.

One had to question his motives...
Faruja Senra And part of that larger group? Though the Church has remained steadfastly neutral in the larger issue of Baron and Alexandria, more than a few Templar and various other Church-leaning warriors and mages have found their way into the efforts of cleaning up the streets of Manhattan. Given their abilities and heavy use of Holy and white magics, they've no doubt become far more welcomed than the Dark Knight everyone is so wary of. Most of the harsher criticisms come from the corner of the Church, though one voice seems oddly mum on the matter.

That very wariness the others show is helpful when one wants to have a private conversation. Dressed in a long coat and high collar so reminiscient of that of a catholic priest's, though in that forest green color many of the Church prefer, the Templar's necklace jangles lightly with the orb set in the center. It seems to shine oddly.

"Ser Vespar, was it not? Valiant, if unorthodox, methods Ser. Quite effective in luring the beasts out to the slaughter." Start with a compliment, it's a good ice breaker, if perhaps annoying.
Angantyr Vespar Angantyr looks up at Faruja, the music doesn't play...yet. However, we might be getting met up in this place if this gets any more ackward. He finishes the bit of ration he managed to not get turned into something else in this world, wiping his mouth off and washing the stuff down with a canteen. He has to admit, he likes the design of it. He'll have to actually buy one here in Manhattan...

"Valiant? Now that is a term I didn't expect to come from the 'holy' warrior about a Dark Knight like myself. I wouldn't call it Valiant, to lure a bunch of monsters out into an ambush. Clever, sure, one might even say tacticfully supperior, but Valiant? That's a new word." he says, looking at the rat infront of him.

"Yes, Vespar, that's my name. I don't have a proper name for you, just what I have to call you due to lacking one.." he pauses, "So what is your name, Cheapscate Knight?"
Faruja Senra The Templar chuckles. "...Perhaps so, perhaps. Brave, then, to expose yourself ahead of the main body of troops. I certainly prefer facing my enemy in the open, but, I suppose I am not one for subtleties. And, to some degree, one cannot argue with success. The Heartless have no honor, and if one must use 'clever' tactics to save innocent souls, well far be it for me to criticize. Desperation, desperate measures, etc."

The flicks his tail, one ear tilting. "One not fallen to evil or serving it, at least. /That/ is why I tolerate your presence, Dark Knight Vespar. Though I doubt my own is enjoyable. Such is the cost of duality."

A nod. The Holy Knight certainly won't bow to a Dark Knight. "Ahh, but my manners have escaped me. Allow me to recapture them. Temple Knight Faruja Senra, of the Most Holy Church of Saint Ajora Glabados. Frugality is a virtue. Particularly when a hired mercenary does not live up entirely to his terms of hiring, vague though they were admittedly. Tell me. What brings you to fight here? Coin, again? Or something more?"
Angantyr Vespar "I fulfilled the order that I was given, perhaps one should be more carefull in phrasing such things." Angantyr says, "Besides, the threat was the man, rather you want to believe it or not. I'd figured you'd be all for my actions...he was a worm, in the more litteral sense. Likes to creep into your heart, feast on the inside. And then leave it a rotted thing. You don't suffer people like that," he finishes, before giving the Knight a look. "You tolerate my presence because I hold power, power this city needs to push back the darkness. You also 'tolerate it' because you have no choice in the matter, for the same reason I tolerate you. I do not hate the light, but I do hate it's loud champions. Those who think themselves better than others because of their light," he continues, "It is the same reason I am what I am now, but take that as you will."

The topic changes to more current events, "Yes, Coin. Xanatos is paying good coin for me to be here, so I am here. I require the money to do what I need to do, and unlike others in your service, I do not try and explain my motives off as something more altruistic."
Faruja Senra "Fair enough. As for the Heretic? Yes, you are quite correct. However, simply attacking him would have proven to the populace of Rabanastre that everything he said was correct. A moral victory can be more influencial than a physical one. I liken him more to a snake, whose words are poison. Once bitten, drawing out fang and venom takes precedence over removing the snake's head." A small smile.

"However, I do like how you think regarding them. By all means, should you meet him again, slay him and take his head. I shall be happy to pay you for it. Even more should you bring him to me alive. Hearing his Confession would be /joyous/."

An eye narrowing, the Burmecian's gaze grows colder. "Forgive me if I find myself looking down my muzzle at those who apply fire to fire. In time, this will only cause it to grow. I dislike mercenaries as a rule. But indeed, your power is useful and 'tis not my affair. I suppose asking you to throw aside your Darkness and embrace Faith and Light is useless? Your abilities, turned to a purpose other than greed, would do much to illuminate the Darkness we both fight."
Angantyr Vespar Angantyr smiles a bit at those words. He wouldn't even have to pay Angantyr to do that...getting paid is a NICE bonus, but the man was tricky, getting captured is probably what he would want...and he seemed to have many tricks fro getting out of getting dead. Reguardless, "Moral victories do not lead to anything changing, just to you feeling smug while real people suffer for your pride." he pauses, "Generally speaking, of course, not specifically in this case. I fear I am guilty of wanting the moral victory from time to time." he comments.

He'll admit his flaws, that's something he isn't too prideful about. No man is a mountain, even if they think they should be. Slowly, he listens to the rat's speach on giving up his darkness, and slowly, a faint chuckle escapes his lips.

"Did you not hear what I said before? My darkness exists because of the light. I can not be rid of it, because it is seeded into my very being. To not control it or direct it would bring ruin to those I care about the most. It would turn me into the demon known as Leida. No...think of me what you will, but this power is mine. Both my strength and my responsibility." He thumbs his nose.

"My greed, is a different matter entirely, and something I am not going to get into with someone so friendly with the judges. I need not explain myself to someone who is willingly a pawn of the pawns of House Solidor."
Faruja Senra The Templar looks thoughtful at the mention of moral victories. "And to know the difference between ones of smugness, and a victory that uplifts the hearts and instills bravery and perserverance in the common people is what /all/ Knights, regardless of the sort, should be quite proficient at. But 'tis a hair's breadth between the two."

Sigh. The Burmecian shakes his head. "Can you truly blame me to try? 'Tis dangerous. But you know that, obviously. Do not fall into the Abyss, Vespar. There is good in your heart yet, whatever your flaws."

On House Solidor? The rat nods. "Entirely understandable. Hardly do I trust a conquering nation. No, oh mercenary, I have no intention of becoming that nation's pawn. Humans, no offense to you, with that much power make my fur stand on end. I seek to make use of the Judge Magister's forces for what good it can be turned to." A pause.

"But, it seems there is another story to all of this. The Magister seemed to know you. My ears are open, if you would tell me of what has earned them your ire. On my honor as a Temple Knight, and before Holy Faram, do I swear that what you say shall not spill from my muzzle in the dear Judge's direction." A smile.

"For what a Holy Knight's oath may be worth to you."
Angantyr Vespar "It is not a matter of try. You don't seem to understan...nevermind." Anangtyr says. Whatever, he'll refuse to understand, and Angantyr will move on with his life.

"Why specifically does it have to be humans with too much power? Anyone with too much power, reguardless of race, is a threat to the stability of the world. Well, worlds, in this case. Getting the worlds to they way they were before seems a bit farfetched, what is easily destroyed can not be made whole again." he comments.

"What he did? He serves the Arcadian empire, he is a pawn to house Solidor. Do you not know?" he asks, oddly. "They conqure anyone they want, when they want. They destroy the culture of whatever lands they settle in to place their own. They kill soldiers, who's only crime is to want to defend their home from these greedy old men, to scare the rest of the nation into fear and submission." Angantyr spits.

"It is not insults, but fact. Their goal was always world domination...I guess now that word will become plural for them. But do feel free to use their structure to safely throw your religion around..."
