Ivo Galvan Witness the distinction between an explorer and an aesthete.

To be sure, Ivo Galvan would, if left to his own devices, be strolling all about Traverse Town, handily fending off stray Heartless while engaging passerby in light banter and calmly allowing his gaze to rove over the architecture of this city at the end of the universe -- in fact, he's still stupendously curious about what materials were used to build much of this place (some of it seems almost gelantinous) -- or something along those lines. But a knight, errant though he might be, is duty-bound, and a gentleman makes the most of his circumstances without complaint.

Spending the day in the tavern has frankly been fruitful.

Having stayed up late into the night sharing a drink with the lady samurai who had protected them previously, Ivo encountered a groggy Reize in the morning who seemed to have regained his full faculties. Lily seemed to still be in need of rest, but the boy was itching to go, so Galvan affably offered to stick around on the off chance that she awoke in Reize's absence. Well, the kid promptly walked off in what appeared to be exactly the opposite direction that he said he'd be going, so Ivo set about chatting up every talking duck and dog who passed through to learn what he could of these new straits of theirs.

Hours later, he can be found seated at a small table by the stairs leading up to the bedrooms, brow furrowed and fingers interlocked, visibly deep in thought and far graver than he tends to allow himself to appear.

He knows their options now, more or less.

Now it's just a question of making a decision.
Lily Footsteps creak down the stairs... footsteps caused by very little weight, so they're not particularly loud. Lily's half-crawled, half walked, and now is sort of... uneasily clambering down the steps in the most awkward and uncertain manner possible.

Backward, while holding onto the railing for dear life. She's dressed the same as before, the white slip of a dress-robe combo quite prominent, but it's going to get dirtier than it already is with the way she suddenly gets down onto her hands and knees to peek her head between the railings and look out over the goings-on in the tavern... eyes wide with curiosity and rapidly - FRANTICALLY - zipping from patron to patron...
Reize Seatlan Reize needed to get away from the town for a while. Not used to such a big environment, he had only lived in a small vilage for fourteen years. With being in a big town, he decided to get away to some location that was away from the town proper, so he ended up at the beach.
A lot of things had happened since he took a trip to the beach. He was almost accosted for information about his pendant by that strange Taka guy, met a woman who was lost who he agreed to help out, was attacked by Noise, and made a pact with a girl that came to help them and made friends with a lion.
Reize is emerging into the tavern: Worn. His ahoge is flopped, looking as beaten up as the boy himself. The person who he is helping out is likely still getting supplies while they are in town. The trip to get back to Midgar will be a short or long one.
With Reize, definitely long.
Nevertheless, the boy is looking around a tad weary, "Guh, that went well..." His antenna hair flips up, then the boy tuns to see where Ivo is at. "Oooooiii!" The boy wave a hand his way, "Ivo!" And of course, he looks up to see the girl climbing down the stairs, "...Lily?"
Ivo Galvan Still shot: Ivo staring into space with brow intensely furrowed, hands clasped in front of his mouth, behind him the descending staircase and its railing. Several seconds pass. Then, slowly, Lily's head leeeeans it from outside the frame, eyes wide and unblinking, staring down at him.

Hold until the audience begins to laugh nervously.

"Oh, there you are, Reize," the blue-cloaked swordsman replies pleasantly, in the calm and relaxed tone of someone who has both lounged around all day and still not gotten bored. "Who beat you up this time?" Not that he even knows who beat up Reize the last time. "Glad you were able to make it back the same day you left."

He's smiling as he says this, of course. Then he blinks. "Lily? Where-- gah!" Turning his head, only to find that the girl is basically a foot from him. "Oh, yes, there you are," he says, recovering gallantly. She doesn't seem unstable, but bursts of emotion probably aren't wise, just in case she gets upset. The young knight manages another smile. "Did you sleep well?"

Now that the three of them are assembled, though, Ivo's thoughts stray to their current predicament, and he takes a deep breath, quirking his lips. "Come on over and sit with me," he suggests to the both of them. "I'd like to go over what happened before the two of you arrived here again. This time, I don't think we'll be interrupted."

Not all the stories are the same. Raiya's world doesn't seem to have vanished completely, and from what he can tell, there are others like her. He didn't hear any voice like the one Reize speaks of, too. But if it's mostly as he suspects--

"I think," he concludes, "I have some good and some bad news."
Lily The girl in white recoils at the excalamation a few inches, but not more than that. After the shock of that's passed, she... well...

She crawls the REST of the way through the gap in the railing and drops the rest of the way to the ground, buffeted by a very focused whoosh of wind to cushion the fall. To Ivo, it's just a momentary pleasant breeze at least!

"Mmh... feeling much better now-- oh! R... Reize, I'm glad you're here! .. You were gone..." She shows an uncertain smile towards the young adventurer, but then... turns to study Ivo and the chairs, looking around at the other patrons seated...

At least for this, she intuits what's needed well enough, and slips into a chair with only minor struggling to get her seating. "'news?'" The unfamiliar world rolls hesitantly from her tongue...
Reize Seatlan A sigh exhales when Reize looks over Ivo, then he shakes his head. "...I ran across some creatures called Noise. My boomerangs were not to effective... It's a long story that I'll be able to talk about in a bit." The boy grins, thn he looks over towards Lily as she addresses him. "Ah! Lily! You're alright!" Though, whn she gives him an uncertain smile about him being gone, Reize sighs, "Sorry, I figured you needed some sleep, so I left you to sleep for a while."
He rubs the back of his head, looking rather sheepish. While Ivo tells the two to sit with him, Reize complies an moves to the table with Ivo. He takes a seat, and then he considers the story he mentioned about before.
"Well..."
Back to the story.
"When I played hookey and slept on my raft, a waterfall pulled me in. I woke up in a strange world... I found myself in total darkness." He shuts his eyes, "I wandered along the path... The a voice told me to move forward. I found myself standing on glass paintngs... They appeared very similar to my mother's paintings.." The boy starts to reach to his side.
From his pouch, he procures various tarot shaped cards. He lays them out to the side. They appear to be of various worlds. In the painting, the words appear as shards.
...Of those cards, Ivo would be able to catch the shard of Cosmopolis.
Ivo Galvan "Now this," Ivo says slowly, "I did not anticipate."

He's not referring to Lily's zephyr-borne descent from the stairs, which was the swordsman's first glimpse at her power, and did certainly raise his eyebrows -- but let's face it, if the girl has a crystal embedded in her head, you have to expect some sort of exciting shenanigans. He's smiling at the girl with what appears to be repressed mirth -- perhaps an odd reaction, but it's tough to stay serious when someone piques your interest that much, and gets you so intrigued about what else might be in store -- when Reize seats himself down and begins to tell it all. The story is more or less what Ivo had gathered.

But these cards tell a different tale.

"How could you--" Ivo's smile has vanished, and his eyes are unusually intense as his hand hovers above the card that represents his world. Strangely, he hesitates there, not touching it, before recovering and pulling back, shaking his head. "Your mother was a painter, then?" he murmurs, suddenly reserved. "She was... quite talented."

Better file this away for later.

"These cards represent worlds," Ivo begins, his tone even, "and these worlds have been connected." He glances between the two teenagers before settling back in his chair. "I know this is all new to you, Lily," he adds, smiling slightly again, "but where we are now is new to Reize and I as well -- and, indeed, to all the friends we met the other night. Their worlds have been connected too, places where the people and the rules can be very different. And..."

He pauses then, gaze shifting to Reize, eyes serious.

"The fates of these worlds were not the same."

"Some worlds," he continues, "seem to have fused together. It may be that the forest you first found yourself in is located there." Raiya's world being among those. "But some worlds have disappeared entirely, and the passages back to them have been effaced." He would hesitate more here, under normal circumstances. But given Lily's state and Reize's character, Ivo elects to plunge ahead. "The... bad news is that none of us can go home. Your world and mine have been lost, without a trace, leaving us stranded."

Whereupon the dark-haired youth leans in.

"But the good news is that every lost world, or so it appears, does leave a shard of itself behind, from which it can again be awakened. I don't quite understand that process yet," he admits, "and we have no clues as to where the shards of our worlds can be found yet. But there's bound to be more people like us, refugees from forsaken lands, and this realm is too vast to wander alone."

This time, he grins.

"I suggest," he finishes gamely, "for lack of a better objective, we attempt to seek out the shards of worlds lost to darkness. Since we're in the same situation, why not find common cause? Perhaps we'll find someone's home -- or our own."

Ivo leans back again, crossing his arms behind his head.

"Not," he appends, "that I'm in any hurry to run home."
Lily The white-clad girl's smile strengthens at this response! "A-as long as you're not going away." She quiets down after sharing those few words... to listen.

And listen well.

It's a long story that she hears, yet Reize's is one that she nods vigorously at upon hearing. "I knew...that was you!" A noise that's not quite a giggle-- but close to one-- escapes her lips-- but is silenced the moment Ivo starts speaking.

And as he talks a long while, she doesn't say anything at all for quite a while either. However, for some reason or another, she DOES start holding her breath...

And her face has gone all but white near the end of it, eyes bulging. She gasps for a breath after the final world's spoken and claps both hands over her mouth-- as if realizing how silly what she just did was. "Mmmmh... huuah... well... ... I... I don't remember anything before.." The word 'before' comes out hesitantly - as if, for some reason, she has problems even THINKING of the idea of anything happening before that... "... no world... just darkness. Awful, vicious darkness and the THINGS in it..."

Lily's cheeks puff up emphatically. "I don't want to go back to that! It's nicer here."

A few nearby noises draw her attention - clanking of other patrons setting down their glasses. but that draws her eyes over towards the newcomer... and Priel ends up stared at questioningly.
Reize Seatlan The talk of the mother is something that brings a tinge of sadness to the youth. "...That is all that I know of her." His eye drift towards the painted cards, "... I never met her before. I don't even know what she looks like." His eyes drift towards those tarots, slowly starting to bring them together.
Ivo explains about the cards a little more. He has a faint smile while he observes the deck. He lifts his head up at Ivo, listening to the man carry.
It is when Ivo brings the bad news. Unable to return home? That means... he won't be able to see Joseph, Kalen, Raou, his father.. He frowns, all of them disappeared? The boy's eyebrows furrow.
But, Ivo does reveal a bit of good news. There is a way to recover them. That may help. To form an alliance in order to have every world brought back.
"I like that. We will seek out the shards..."
Lily is earned a glance from the boy, "...That was me?" He looks confused for a moment, but then he turns to Ivo, "There's something else.. I haven't finished the story. After that---" His gaze drifts, able to catch a glimpse of Priel. The boy doesn't quite trust her yet. A frown is drawn. That next story brings up a matter that he did not want to discuss with those he doesn't feel comfortable with. Instead, he starts to pocket the tarot deck.
Ivo Galvan "From now on, Lily," the knight-errant says with a smile, "you don't have to do anywhere you don't want to."

Working his way through to this point was no easy mental exercise, but now that he's here, Ivo feels as though a tremendous weight has been lifted from his shoulders. Frankly, a part of him feels almost giddy, though it'd be much too unseemly to reveal that -- he's the grown-up here, after all -- so instead he just leans back a little further, lifting his chair's front legs off the ground, the blue-eyed young man grinning to himself. Yes, a great weight off his shoulders, indeed.

"None of us do."

The weight of a whole world...

"Hmm?" Ivo let his grin drop as he glances toward Reize again, who seems to want to continue his tale. Remembering himself, the swordsman parts his lips to say something thoughtful about Reize's mother, only to see where the boy wonder, following the girl's lead, is now looking. But where Reize reacts with suspicion, Ivo quirks a little smile again, keeping his eyes fixed on the redhead long enough to accumulate a fair debt.

"Those long ears have surely overheard us," he says casually, sounding faintly amused. "I think I can even see them twitching." He has a guess now, and as with the best guesses, it's best pitched as confidently as possible. "No world's lost forever, so long as you can find it again. You've got an eye for gold, but when seeking a shard -- wouldn't three more sets be useful?"

That smile stays the same, but his eyes are watching her carefully.
Lily "Oh, that's good!" Lily answers Ivo with renewed cheer... though she brings a finger to her lips moments later, and runs it across them gently. Then taps. "... but I don't know where I DO want to go..." The smile quickly becomes a ponderous, twisted frown... or something resembling it, anyways.

This thinking takes a while. It continues while the others speak, though she only occasionally peeks over at Priel now that she's been brought into the conversation.

"Worlds... those monsters... I don't know... but... this seems right..." Her words come out in a murmur, but soon she's focusing on Priel. Gving her an even LONGER examinatory stare. As if... not sure what to make of her!
Reize Seatlan Considering the past experiences, she seemed not the type to get involved with stuff. The eyes drift towards Ivo, pursing his lips slightly. Yet, he shakes his head briefly, offering a faint smile.
There is not much choice in this, is there? The boy looks over Priel for a couple of more moments, then he considers the idea of grouping up with her. Of course, she always notes that she doesn't see how they'll manage. The boy narrows his eyes.
"We'll manage! We will restore the other worlds. Knights Vow #14: Even a small star shines in darkness. Things may seem bleak right now, but with everyone working together, we will be able to restore the worlds!" He grunts, then he peers at Priel.
Then he responds about her quantity. "Knight's Vow #06: Forge allies whereever you go. The bond is stronger than an empire. A person cannot do things alone!" He lifts a finger into the air, "The more people join for a common cause, the more possible it is for that cause to be realized."
Then, the ahoge flips up as he gives a cheerful smile, "Knight's Vow #02: Let's all work together for a peaceful world. The only way to bring everything back... is to work together."
Ivo Galvan As anticipated, more or less.

"Well, not everyone can be as trustworthy as you, Red," Ivo replies to Priel, unfolding his arms from behind his head and settling back down into a marginally more dignified seated position. "But if you're going to seek shards yourself, be sure to sharpen your eyes 'til they're as keen as your cute little fangs. Because..."

This time, the confidence in his smile isn't feigned.

"If you can't see us three succeeding, you're not seeing straight."

He makes no effort to justify his intuition. In fact, for the most part, he's just going with his gut. But isn't that the way to do it? You analyze and read the people and opportunities around you as best you can, you weigh the risks, and as long as you see the journey as a reward in itself, you'll always be spurred to make something interesting happen. As different as their motives must be, Ivo couldn't help but feel from the very beginning that he and this mysterious redhead share that sort of style, just from the way she comported herself. He didn't expect her to accept his invitation. No-- that was a challenge.

To give them the chance to prove themselves.

"Ha ha ha!" And prove himself Reize does, to Ivo's delight. "So you're a knight too, are you?" he says in a tone of amused indulgence. "You hear that, Red? Wise words from the kid. Though we may be small stars now, so long as we work together, our peaceful worlds will return. Knight's Vow #34: The doubt of others is merely an opportunity to inspire them."

A seamless delivery.

"Next time we meet," Ivo adds toward the dragon girl, "I'll show you quantity /and/ quality." He reaches out, patting both Reize and Lily on the back lightly. "Won't we, guys?" Don't drag them into this, man. "After all, we're the Shard Seekers. There's nothing we can't do with our fearless leader..."

He grins.

"...Reize Seatlan."
Lily "Hwuh?!" The bubbly noise Lily makes when she's so grabbed and brought in for a group moment is accompanied with THE most bewildered expression a person could possibly make - eyes wide open, lips parted and a somewhat dopey smile showing through the confusion.

Until of course, she hears Priel's words. She's not really been responding to most of the other things being said - little of it enough she even understands.

But Priel's words are met with an answer by the young girl in white. Words that are sincere and simple.

"It's not true. Following Reize brought me out of the darkness! I was stuck there for so long, trying to do it without a light to follow....""
Reize Seatlan Priel is rather difficult, isn't she? The boy idly shakes his head, no point in arguing the matter. However, when Ivo decides to bolster their resolve on finding the words, Reize brightens to a smile.

Knight's Vow #34 ...
...
...
Wait, what?
The boy's eyebrows knits and he and his antenna hair scratch his head, trying to recall what was #34. He could had sworn it was different. Maybe.
Nevertheless as Priel continues to be difficult, Reize shakes his head and exhales a sigh. Though, while Lily mentions about him helping her, the boy cannot help but smile a bit more. "...Thanks, Lily..." He considers, "No matter. As the Shard Seekers, we'll restore the ther worlds!"
Ivo Galvan "Course we will, chief," Ivo says easily, watching Priel go. She seems to thrive on making mischief, but he's not convinced she meant even half of what she said. Only time will tell -- and he's looking forward to it.

But staring at her butt reveals no answers, so at last the gallant knight turns back toward his younger companions, looking satisfied. There's a whole new world out there -- no, worlds upon worlds. "I've heard tell," he begins, "of a city amidst the desert, filled with fountains, where a crystal which glows with the light of a thousand fires is kept. Adventurers travel there to form groups called Clans, and due to the crystal's allure, many smiths and inventors now dwell there. If we could make our way to this Fluorgis, there's a chance I might be able to improve our hopes of finding one of these Shards..."

A slim chance, perhaps, but-- one worth taking. After all--

"I think," Ivo says, smiling, "this is going to be fun."
Lily "nnnnnnuuuuuuu!"

It's not... QUITe... a real word... or even a typical exclamation... but Lily's response to Priel storming out and saying those things is NOT a positive thing. She's GLARING at the door. LIKE LASERS.

Hands clenched into fists and... well.

The air around her is getting warmer. Much, much warmer. In just a few moments it has risen about twenty degrees fahrenheit.
Reize Seatlan A sigh is given towards Ivo, then he shakes his head slowly a the older companion. To be honest, Reize doesn't trust Priel. The boy mutters, shaking his head briefly. Of all of the people he met, Taka and Priel are the ones who he do not see as people he trust.
Meanwhile, Reize listens to Ivo, until Priel makes note of what Lily said.
...And then he can see that Lily is not too happy. A sweatdrop comes over him and he says, "Lily..." A hand rests over towards her shoulder. "...It's alright."

When Ivo mentions of the tales that he had heard, Reize listens carefully. "...Oooh! Really?!" The boy gives a thoughtful look, and then he brightens, "So Fluorgis will be our next destination. On that note, I will have to get a person that I met back to a place called Midgar. She is lost, so I figured I'd help her find the place. I am curious over what this Midgar is ike as well."
