No description.
Queen of Cards Everybody has gathered here at the place where the coordinates where the gambler's paradise is supposed to be. Instead, a great expanse of somewhat uninspiring nothing greets the heroes.

The Queen of Cards is present at this landing where the world suddenly shears off. There is a wheelbarrow in which Don Corneo has been shoved in a quite unindignant manner.

He is snoring at a terrible volume, sawing logs in his sleep and dreaming of the many and various beautiful woman he has known in insect and chocobo outfits. The Queen of Cards frowns menancingly down at him for a moment, then looks up with her hands clasped and her face set in a dignified smile.

There is also no sign of Chocolina.

This-- could possibly bode slightly ill, especially since there are several red feathers scattered about the landing and a thick clump of bushes nearby a large tree. "Welcome." The Queen of Cards says to those who approach, looking between them all. "I assume you've found the correct key for our sealed deck?"
Aerith Aerith smiled back, far more amicable with this woman than with the Don. A sense of peace washed over her, seeing him dumped in a wheelbarrow like that. Maybe he should stay there for the whole night. "We've got it. Took some doing to get it, but we got everything we need." She glanced around at... the big empty space of nothing, and yet she could sense... "So you really do need to unlock this place, huh?"
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart is actually dressed normally, for once! She had no reason to come here wearing her chocoGirl suit at least. She's been entrusted with the 3 artifacts, since the request had come to her directly. Aerith had been there for all of it too, thankfully for her. It was rather rough after all, between heartless in the casino, chocobo eating menace, and trap-filled old well...

She was glad she didn't have to dress up anymore, being tricked or tricking or forced for the need. It doesn't matter.

She carries the three artifact to the queen "Here, coin, feather and deck, al gathered. What do we have to do now?" She wonders what will happen. She's never seen a world unlocking before.
Will Sherman Will looks up at the Queen of cards. He squints at her for a moment, as if trying to look through her, before he looks at Mercade, who he brought with him. "So...wait what? What are we doing here again? I mean, I was at some underground thing last night, and now I am here at a place with a fat guy in a wheel barrel, and uh...the remains of a chocobo laying around suspiciously." he squints at the Queen of Cards.

"What is this sealed deck?" he ask the people around him. "Look seriously, I am just here for the free food so there better be some free food."
Navya Once upon a time, Navya told Don Corneo (mostly to get him to shut up) that yes, she might wear a chocobo costume at the opening of Serendipity, after all the adventuring is done.

Then he literally gambled the clothes off her back - while she was wearing them! - and she was significantly less interested in doing so.

And that's why Navya is wearing her normal clothes, complete with hammer. She wants to see the end of this; she was involved in a lot of the rest of it, after all, even if she didn't escort the Queen of Cards that one time. She did get the coins, though, and helped with the feathers! That counts.

"It's like a patio," Navya says to Will, inaccurately. "I guess Serendipity has one? Anyway, they'll unseal it and /then/ there will be food and stuff."
Will Sherman "Oh wait, it's a seal deck then?" Will asks Navya. "Man, I hope there aren't any seals there. I hate seals...little bastards." he mutters, "You can't trust seals. Or Dolphins. Really you can't trust anything from the ocean. They are all evil. Especially the crabs! Man the crabs man. Oh and the EELS! Nobody likes eels!" Will continues for a moment.

"Even Eels hate Eels."
Seifer Almasy Seifer Almasy is here, sour and unsocial, just generally being better than you.

He had a hand in this as well...

If Aerith hadn't spotted the box in his coat, this might have not even happened! Why you gotta spoil a guy trying to spoil someone else's good time, flower-girl?!
Mercade Alexander Mercade's here.

So is Watson. This was a long walk, dammit. The Detective is relaxing, watching the spectacle of everything going on. There is a bottle of Ancient Pirate King (TM) Brand Rum peeking out of his own coat. He knows how to have a good time, dammit.

He just keeps giving Watson a steady stream of Greens to keep his attention while he chills. "What, you and the shark seemed to be getting along just fine, Will. Did you break up already?" He teases.
Aerith Aerith peered over at Will for a brief moment. What was he talking about? She shook her head and chuckled at Mercade's comment. Yes, he was almost fish bait there for a moment. But she was too busy patching Seifer, the idiot, up to notice the rest of it.
Queen of Cards The Queen of Cards raises an eyebrow at Aerith, her frown ever so faintly disapproving. "Every card has it's place in a collection, my dear. Would you take odds on someone asking if your home was worthy of being found?" she smiles very slightly to soften the edges of the rebuke and turns to answer other questions.

Whatever Will sees, it is strict and orderly and bound in many MANY tight little loops, in a very focused design. It's a blinding golden shimmer, light but not really interested in the 'true' meaning of the moniker. Neutral, Focused, and Chaotic Amused. "Give them here, give them here. I will put the shards together and light the way." There is a slight edge of eagerness to her voice and she radiates a little more calm cheerfulness when she kicks the Wheelbarrow with the side of one delicate boot and Don Corneo does not so much as flinch in his sleep.

The Queen of Cards takes the Cards, and the Feather, and the Coin and considers them all together. The Queen's tight little design loops into a new design with little golden spirals as she then takes a deck of cards from her white dress .

She then presses the golden feather between two cards with amazing dexterity, placing the coin in the same way. She shuffles the deck and abruptly the two artifacts are gone. Inbetween frames of reality, they have simply stopped existing.

The Queen of Cards shuffles the cards again, picking the first two cards off the top of the deck and transferring them into the deck of Old Timmy. These cards shimmer with a golden light, throwing off sparks as The Queen shuffles the deck again. She does so gingerly, with respect for the old cardstock.

She looks between each of participants. "Gentlemen, Ladies and--" she glances towards Will and then at Seifer. "Others. Welcome to Serendipity."

She shuffles the cards, the golden cards flittering like birds as they launch into the air. Golden trails hover in the air and the cards begin to flutter down around her in a rain.

The Queen of Cards frowns. It is a dangerous scowl.

She stomps her foot before the manuever turns into something unladylike like embarrassment. The cards explode into glittering dust, blowing across the platform into the nothingness beyond.

Wherever it starts to stick, color and life is blown into the nothingness-- and something starts to bleed back into the world, the golden dust spreading until shimmering afterimages of buildings and pathways begin to form in the open air.
Aerith Aerith's eyes widen as what appears to be less of a casino and more of a... well, what looked like a... whole resort appeared. A grin spread on her features as the buildings revealed themselves, as if waking up from some sort of long-forgotten dream. "So this is Serendipity..." There's only one real word for this display. "Wow."
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart hands over the artifacts to the Queen, nodding "You know best what to do." She refraisn from chucking at the mention about the two bickering boys... well three with Mercade, in a way. This couldn't end well if it keeps up, assuredly.

She oooohs at the display. Its quite magical. She watches as the dust clings to buildings that weren't there before, starting to give them shape. She smiles, looking over to Aerith "All of that hard wark did pay off. Work, I said work!" x_X Maybe she's been in that costume for too long.
Aerith Aerith laughed at Tifa's mistake. "We need to get a few drinks into you! Maybe that'll erase that word from your vocabulary, huh?" She glanced toward the Queen. "It's beautiful."
Kaydin Kaydin walks up as the display reveals itself, looking about as he held his sword, the chain at it's pommel wrapped about his arm. He approaches as Aerith said it was beautiful before he looks to Aerith. "Seen better." He says as he nods to her and looks about. "So what is going on?" He asks curiously.
Will Sherman Whatever the Queen did...

Will was paying perfect attention suddenly. What she had...he finally got a look at. The strings were golden, and he remembers what the golden string means. More to the point, she seemed to...put them all together, mixing them with increadible dexterity, before shuffling them into existance...and then bam. A shard was there. Will actually gasps...not because the trick was a good card trick (Will could do that. The boss taught him.) but because...

She just did something that he thought only a Keyblade weilder could do. He scratches his head, and looks at Mercade for a moment, stunned into silence for once.
Seifer Almasy Eyes like blue sky widen as something forms out of nothing save for glitter and cards, he tightens his jaw, keeping himself from gawking.

"Are you saying Work or Wark?" he jeers off-handedly to Tifa, "Is that going to be a new hobby for you now?" he wonders aloud, hand dipping into his coat, retrieving his phone. With a flip, it opens up and he aims the thing at the spectacle.

Click, flash!

Tourist Seifer is a tourist.
Navya There is really only one thing Navya can think of to do when the ... place starts to form.

She applauds. "Wow!" Navya is apparently quite impressed by the event. "I've never seen anything like that before - I mean - wow!" She is at a loss for words.
Morrighan Alazne Following not too far behind Kaydin was Morrighan, arms crossed and looking rather irritated already. To anyone that knew her, the first guess as to why would like have to be that she was out of the castle. She HATED being out of the castle! Strange things always happened whenever shey left and the elf was growing more than tired of it. Especially after that nonsense in Traverse Town.

...But she would make an exception this time. "Well...this place is quite something..." A mocking smile followed that statement as the healer brought a hand to cover her mouth. "But alas, I have seen better~ Ohohoho~" And there went that obnoxious laugh that no one loved.

Once done, the dark knight ahead of her was given a frown. "...So DO tell me, why are we here again? Hmmn?"
Mercade Alexander Mercade offers some of his rum. Only slightly used. "Poor Tifa." He laughs, and consolingly pats her on the shoulder. "Don't worry, it'll all work out." He doesn't go for the chocobo pun. She already did it. "Let's all just relax and enjoy ourselves. Miss Gainsborough there has a good plan."

He watches the appearance of Serendipity intently, eyes narrowing for a moment as he considers what just happened here. "Right out of nowhere..." He quietly comments. "Anyway..." He nods. "What are we waiting for? Let's get started!"
Queen of Cards The Queen of Cards smiles slightly in approval, not turning around to look until all of Serendipity has been established. She takes the other cards and puts them away, she gestures for someone to pick up the wheelbarrow.

"Our agreement was that we would all share in the profits and loss to this venture. It would be a terrible shame if his excesses were to ban him from being a part of this celebration. Would one of you please wheel him inside?" at this she turns and walks across the newly formed pathway of stone towards the center of the newly risen resort.

A giant roulette wheel starts to lazily spin, giant rollers on a similar building begin to spin past crystals and chocobos and lemon images. The Queen of Cards gestures to a titanic house of cards, the facade green and gold and brown of Triple Triad Cards. "Wander around as you wish and how you wish. There is nothing to fear but the fickle hand of chance. Enjoy yourselves. As the evening rolls on, I will make sure things are brought out and properly prepared."

She glares into the bushes where a trail of red feathers leads to a knocked out Chocolina, then gestures to the Triad Hall where she would be happy to teach anyone who asked the games therein or answer any questions they might have.

"Of course.." she smiles at them all. "Perhaps not strictly for free. We'll make a game of it."
Will Sherman Will looks at Mercade, with a grin on his face. Then, slowly, Will heads inside, looking to follow the Queen of cards. Well, the game is afoot! He manages to quash his ear to ear grin to a small smile. However, mostly because he is not sure if his powers will be able to help him. A chance to truly see just how far he can push his luck!

And just not just with Seifer!
Navya Navya doesn't push Corneo in because she's babysat him /way/ too much over the last few days.

"We can look around?" she says, curious now that she's gotten over the sudden appearance. "Because this place is really cool looking and all, but I'd like to try gambling, too. I mean, I didn't at that other place - "

She remembers something. "You can only bet /your/ stuff here, right?" she asks the Queen of Cards, hastily. "I mean, I'd like to make a game of it. But not if someone else is betting my stuff!"
Aerith Aerith nods and heads inside, aiming to have some fun for once. This evening, barring sudden Heartless ambushes and crazy casino owners, just might be the most fun she's had since waking up in this confusing world all those months ago. Even more if she wins a bit!

Taking note of the direction the Queen gestured toward, Aerith decided it as her first destination. After all, this was a whole new place for her. She'd need to get familiar.
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart sighs a bit at her lapsus, she hopes this isn't a curse or something at this point.

But after the place fully manifests itself, she smiles and steps in, taking a long look around the place. This is the result of her efforts after all, even if she got the help of many along the way. "There seems to be a few places missing though, I mean the buildings are there, but might need to work the place back into shape." She looks over to the Queen "This seems like an amazing place though, I'm sure everyone will enjoy."

She glance down at Corneo a bit, over the top of the barrell "... He's going to have lots of casino girls around, no doubt."
Kaydin "I came to see a friend of mine and I brought you because I thought that this is supposed to be the best casino in existance and it cant be the best if your not there." Kaydin says to Morrighan, catering to the elf before following after Aerith.
Seifer Almasy So all of that, nearly being killed, the spears, the razors, the stairs, having to be around Will, missing his opertunity to kick Will into a shag-pit, all of that was for this?

Seifer peers around, the glamour of it's arrival serving as the highlight to the gaudy eyesore of a place. Gambling, Gambling was against the rules.

Tucking his hands into his pockets, Seifer makes his way towards the lone, familier sight, the triple triad building. Something that reminds him of home.
Morrighan Alazne "Hmph..." Apparantly placated for now, Morrighan falls silent. She then takes the time to observe their surroundings in their entirety. It seemed as if everyone was focused on that one hall. So without further ado, she also moved to see just what was going on. "COme along then. We certainly don't want to be left out!"
Kaydin Kaydin follows along, keeping close to Morrighan but he watched Aerith, barely glancing about to look things over and check on morrighan before he went back to keeping an eye on things, alert.
Will Sherman Will follows...hands behind head as he takes a look at everything going around him. This is going to be...interesting, he thinks, still trying to keep that grin off of his face. He doesn't really speak to anyone at this point. It was a new and exciting place, and he was more interested in doing than talking...for the moment. Let the kid in the candy store settle in first!
Mercade Alexander "For the love of God, Will, don't try to clean the place out immediately." Mercade grimaces, walking along with Watson, who warks in pleasant chocobo obliviousness. Mercade might take him over to the track later.

For now, the Detective is more interested in games of skill and chance. Mostly skill, because compared to Will he's 13 black cats in a broken mirror factory. So he's of course going to look into this 'Triple Triad' thing.

The Baronion contingent passes, and Mercade grins, giving Morrighan and Kaydin an amused salute. "Ladies. Gentlemen." He says politely. No need to be a Seifer about it, after all.
Queen of Cards The Queen of Cards establishes herself at the far end of this cavernous hallway. The lights turn on as she walks down the rows, touching a table here or a chair.

The hall hums to life as she sits down at one of the Triple Triad Tables, taking out her deck of cards and setting it neatly to one side as she folds her hands delicately on the green felt.
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart smiles as she looks at the place, walking through the hallway with her hands behind her back. She hmms "Well, this is well installed. There's even the shop over there." She walks over to the counter, leafing through the binder with all of the cards pictures idly.
Aerith Aerith walks up to the Queen's table and... oh look, seats! Comfy ones, too. She sits and looks at the dealer with a grin. "So then... we never got to have our game of cards. And I'm probably new at this game you have here, so... what's it called and how do I play?"
Will Sherman Will sits down at the Queen's table. "Huh. I haven't seen those types of cards before." he comments. "So is this a game common to only your world?" he asks again, curious. Will looks back and forth between the two... "Also, man, that magic was pretty cool. I haven't seen that on many other worlds!"
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart moves over to the Queen's table, smiling as she checks on the instructions too. "Never heard of it in my world either, but I think I've heard the name when we were at Balamb. I guess its pretty popular there."
Seifer Almasy Seifer Almasy has a perfectly good reason to be a Seifer to the world at large!

He's better than them.

So this is how triple triad will be sold to this world, not through the rediculous cartoons he remembers as a young boy or the almost virus-like spread of it through the world.... He probably has a deck of his own stashed somewhere, certainly not on him though, he gets in line for the shop, leafing through a billfold, peering sourly at the play money that seems to be accepted as legal tender... everywhere!
Morrighan Alazne Coming into the room, Morrighan looked about at the tables spread before her. "...Hm? And just what sort of...?" Sure, she had been to Casinos before, but the layout of the playing fields on the tables were utterly foreign to her. "It certainly looks like no card game that I have ever seen before..."

Again, Kaydin was given another look, as if he had all the answers regarding the outside world. "Tell me! What sort of nonsense is this?" While asking, the elf pointed towards one of the playing tables.
Kaydin "Appearantly this is one of the new card games that existed on the same world as that Garden. They called it Triple Triad." Kaydin explains. "I learned about it when I infiltrated the garden." He says to Morrighan as he looks about.
Queen of Cards "The game is Triple Triad." The Queen of Cards proves again to be worthy of her title as she expertly manipulates the cards, causing them to appear and disappear. She slides a hand over the felt in front of her, then cups a hand over one of the starter lines drawn into the felt. "It's played in the world where Balamb Garden comes from. In the back streets of Deling and under the harsh romantic glare of tournament spotlight." Cards appear at every filled position at her table.

She gestures to Kaydin. "Come, take a seat young man. Have a little patience and all shall be explained." she seems greatly cheered by being back in her element and also because thunder rumbles from somewhere and it might actually start to rain at some point. This may serve as a gentle reminder to her patron to wake up from the wheelbarrow that remained out in the courtyard. "The game is played with five cards, and nine spaces arranged in a square." she palms five from the deck and spreads them out in front of her.

She gestures to the table surface in which the numbers 1 through 9 are etched, A number of monsters are displayed on the cards "And these monsters come into conflict. In the most basic rules, the number at the upper left determine a cards strength." She sets one card at the top middle, and one card just below it.

The cards shudder and flip colors. The top card, which had a 4 at the bottom number, becomes the same color as the blue card which had a 7 as the top number.
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart sits down, listening intently "Ah, I see, so the higher card wins." She tilts her head as the card changes color "Is that a property of the card, to change colors like that?" That's rather interesting too. Or maybe its like a hologram? She will have to inspect the cards better later, when she can get her own.
Mercade Alexander Mercade watches the Queen of Cards do her work and begin teaching kids how to while their days away in the Triple Triad parlor, spending their time learning how to be delinquent and master the Heart of the Cards (AKA: Cheating). Perhaps some days someone will make a hilarious short animated production about these card games!

"Well then. Seems simple enough." He looks over at the Baronians, and smiles, turning to approach the pair. "Kaydin. Madam. I see you are looking over the Triple Triad cards. Looks interesting, doesn't it?" He smiles. "Are you planning on staying and playing a few games?"
Aerith Aerith nodded. "Well then, I can already guess what you have to do... make it so that your cards are positioned so that you take theirs, and they can't take back what you've turned over." Sounded simple, but probably was not. Not at all. "This seems like fun! So... where's the gambling come into it?"
Will Sherman Will pays attention. "So this is a game of skill." he comments, not minding. "Huh." he continues. He watches, actually paying attention to things. So that card turns that card, but...if that card would...if...

"So wait. Hold on. What if you put a card with a higher turning here, and it turns that card, and the card below it has a lower attack power than the one above it?"
Morrighan Alazne "Triple Triad, hm? Strange name..." She mumbled, furrowing her brows at the detective's approach. "...Well, the rules seem simple enough." She decided, resting her hands on her hips and watching the actions of the Queen of Cards. "...I suppose that I could deign give this nonsense a try. After all, it certainly is not the worst thing that I encountered thus far."

Finished with her statement, the healer gave Mercade a curious look. "...And I suppose you have every intention to entertain this foolishness? Hmn?"
Aerith Aerith's eyes widen. "They'd both get turned over, which means..." She grinned. "Oh that's clever. That's really clever. You could turn them all at once if you played it right, couldn't you?"
Queen of Cards "Perhaps more a property of this place." The Queen of Cards says genially. "But all of the decks that come from this place are at least a little special, so I'll let you find out on your own." She continues on with her explaination. She explains the flow of play and the more complicated variations of winning.

"In a Plus rule, you may very well triumph even if the card in your possession is a weaker one, as long as the card to the side and below add up with your own card to the same number." She gives a visual explaination, setting a monster to the side and bottom and putting a monster down between them where the numbers add up in both the left the right and up to down directions. The blue card shudders, then the one to the right and bottom become blue as well. She continues to the Combo rules.

And when someone comes by with a drink, one of the Serendipity staff restored with the world, she takes the very needed drink off the tray and sips at it in a genteel way.
Kaydin Kaydin looks the game over and then looks to the woman. "Sure I will play a game." He says to the queen of cards before looking to those nearby. "I am not exactly good with games..." He says a bit sheepishly.
Aerith Aerith glanced at Kaydin with a warm smile. "Well then, there's a first time for everything, right?" She turned her attention back to the explanation, absorbed in learning how to play this. It was definitely nothing to laugh at, and it'd require a bit of planning beforehand, but it looked like something anyone could win.
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart hms "So it requires some thinking, not just placing cards at random, sometimes even weaker cards can win if you play them well, and a bit of luck on where your opponent places his cards, no doubt."
Aerith Aerith nodded. "And if I'm not mistaken, you can use that rule she just said to really ruin someone's day..." She grinned. "I like it!"
Will Sherman Will looks down...and then back up trying to follow everything. It's a lot to take in, but...this is all weird. "Okay...I think I get it. I so basicly throw cards down and make sure the numbers are bigger on the sides that face out." he says, with a nod. "Okay. And then sometimes cards are weird colors and make no sense so when you put them on squares that have weird colors they get weaker or stronger...because monsters make no sense."
Queen of Cards "It is not so hard to deal with." The Queen of Cards waves him to a seat with the others, she smiles at Will. Thunder rumbles outside as it starts to rain. The water pounds down on the building in a steady staccato.

"And you are mostly correct. You seem to have a firm spread of the ideas on it, so why don't you and I play the first game? Triple Triad is a spectator sport as well as a card game, and much easier learned when done."

The Queen palms five cards and gestures. "Put your hand on the white square there, and Serendipity will loan you some cards for the duration."
Aerith Aerith nodded and placed her right hand on said square. A few cards appeared before her, as if like magic, and she picked them up, turning one of them over. She smiled at the image of a baby chocobo and giggled. "How cute!" She nodded and looked up. "Right, let's start."
Will Sherman Will kind of sees how this goes. He gets one of the starter decks and smiles.

Hmm...wait...

Something feels...off somehow. He shrugs, and continues anyway. Odd, he's never felt this way before, but well...he sort of goes with it and starts playing!
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart watches the game between Will and The Queen, interestingly "Did you play defensiively there, Will?" She wonders, as there wasn't any chance for a catch there.
Queen of Cards The Queen takes another sip of her drink, looking down at the grid and smiling at the spectators. "Whoever starts in a game is always random. So, there is always the element of luck to the game as the beginning cards can often be the most important ones." she looks over her cards, then at the positions of the board as if considering her position carefully.
Will Sherman "A master never reveals their secrets...so.." grinning. "I'll be honest. I have no idea what I am doing."
Aerith Aerith's attention is focused entirely on the game, without a single word said. This was so interesting, and it seemed they were really thinking about it. She saw what Will did and wondered if that was the right way to go... wasn't going to be that easy to get out of.
Morrighan Alazne "Hmn...So this is how the game goes in play..." Morrighan mumbled, rubbing her chin in thought. She wouldn't admit it of course, but it was actually rather interesting. And the rules seemed simple enough to begin with anyway. But would she actually try to play herself? ...Probably not. Or not right off the bat anyway.
Don Corneo "Gwaaa haa ha haaa ha!"

A large bedraggled naked mole rat staggers into the sacred hall of Triple Triad, tracking water everywhere, cackling uproariously, and swinging an ornate glass of some very expensive beverage around, sloshing it carelessly. Wait, that's not a large rat, that's a small man: Don Corneo, who is thankfully not actually naked, but instead clad in his typical red robe, hanging open to reveal only heart-patterned boxers, his round gut sticking out. Where did his pants go? It is a mystery.

Tuft of blond hair plastered to his otherwise bald head, the Don looks around with gleaming eyes, lord of all he surveys, sort of. Actually, this is very explicitly the Queen's domain, but right now he's too swept up in his delight to care. "My friends!!" he shouts, probably interrupting people's concentration. "Is everyone having fun!? There's a party out there, you know!!" In the wheelbarrow? "From now on, every day will be a party! A party full of women dressed like chocobos--" He turns to see Tifa, and looks shocked and scandalized. "Miss Lockhart, where are your feathers!?"

Dissatisfied, he sploshes his glass around some more.

"This will not do!" he exclaims. "As a ruler of Serendipity, I hereby introduce the Strip rule!! Applicable to all games played by beautiful women! Gwaaaa ha ha ha haaa!"

The true card master has arrived.
Aerith Aerith cringes. Oh no.

She tries her best to... ignore... the lecherous and avaricious man which she refused to call by name. He'd gotten them in more trouble than she could imagine, and here he had the nerve to try and break into a riveting game. She sighed and gripped her staff in her right hand.

"I am just about tired of him," she muttered to Tifa.
Don Corneo Actually, there /are/ some cards poking out of the front of his robe, which look more or less random. But who would dare challenge him to a game with the Strip rule in play?

...There really isn't any such rule, though.
Queen of Cards The Queen's expression sours considerably as she looks up from her cards at the sound of Bombast approaching a full speed.

"I see you have graced us with your presence, Don." she grimaces and downs the rest of her drink and affects a brittle smile. "And I think you are more the rule of alcohol than the ruler of Serendipity."
Will Sherman Will keeps his focus, which is pretty amazing because Will doesn't typically HAVE any focus to keep! However, right now, he's apparently not horribly losing! Even with whatever is going on...
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart facepalms a bit when Don announces the new rule. No, that's not really something she wanted to hear. She sighs a bit inwardly, but keeps her attention on the game, even as Will goes for the win. She claps her hands "Well played~"
Chocolina A wail echoes in the air.

That echo belongs to none other than the Chocolicious Chocolina. The bombshell of a chocobo girl is walking in, moving along towards the group. She brings her wings together.

"I cannot believe that my Choco-friend tossed me into the bushes!"

She points a finger accusingly at the Queen.

"Wh--why..?! I thought we were choco boco friends for life?! We were supposed to be sistas!!" She wails. And next to her, all six of her chocobo chicks appear nearby.

All of them give the Queen this look: QoQ
Aerith Aerith claps her hands, congratulating Will. "Not bad for your first game!" She clears her throat. "Okay, I want to play now!" She just hoped she would fare as well... then again, at the moment, she didn't care. She just wanted to jump in!
Queen of Cards The Queen of Cards smiles, scooping up the cards remaining to her. "See? There are always winners or losers, but there are also games within games." she raises her eyebrows slightly at Will, and then she gets up from her table. "Excuse me. I have to attend to my.." she looks towards Chocolina. "Other associates."
Aerith Aerith shrugged and turned toward Tifa. "Fine then, you and me. I suppose we'll both have to get used to it, so let's practice against each other." She grinned. "Up for it?"
Will Sherman Will smiles, he takes his card and nods to The Queen of Cards...

"Thanks! That was kinda fun. I think I get this game." he says. "Hopefully I can understand the more advanced rules eventually." he says, and takes a breath. He grabs something to drink at random.

He downs it in one gulp.
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart smiles and nods, putting a hand on the white squares to receive her temporary deck. Maybe they can get their actual cards soon "Let's do it."
Don Corneo "Hush now, Chocolina, my sweet!" the Don says with a magnanimous tone, sweeping his arm toward all he surveys. "The good Queen could not have possibly meant to offend you. Such choco-tastrophes take place at wild parties like ours! Let us let bygones be bygones and party! Party, party! Gwahahaha!" He spins in place, splashing his drink everywhere. "The Honey Bee was nothing like this! Soon, from this palace, all the women dressed like animals and/or insects in the multiverse will be mine!!"

Eyegleam.

"One card battle at a time!!"

Wait, when did that become part of it?

"Come now, Chocolina," he says, fingers waggling, advancing on the woman in red. "Let's test out this new Strip rule of mine..." You'd better let him win.
Chocolina Sniffle.

Chocolina sniffles, rubbing her eyes. She pulls out a chocobo-brand tissue.

*BBHTTTHHHH!!*

She sniffles, looking up towards Don.

"Yes! We shall have a choco-tastic time in this boco party, Donny-wonny!" Chocolina brings her eyes in the air.

"We must play! Let us play the cards!!" She pulls out her deck. When she reveals her cards, those six chocobo chicks bring her cards out.

"TIME TO W-W-W-W-WA--"

One of the chocobo chicks brings her a piece of paper. Probably a letter.

"Oh! Wrong line!"

"BRING THE TRIIAAADDD!!!" As she brings her wings into the air, those cards are now flying around her, spinning around. Of course, behind those cards are the chocobo chicks.
Queen of Cards The Queen of Cards walks past her associates to grab another drink from a server. She moves from table to table, listening and watching and occasionally sitting down to play.

She all but pointedly ignores Chocolina and Don Corneo, although she keeps an eye on them in case they do make good on the 'Strip' part of the house rules they have concocted between them and she needs to call security.

There could be only one Ruler of Serendipity. And she does not share power.
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart sits down on her side of the table, and takes on Aerith for a game. She smiles, there's no danger of losing cards yet anyway, since they aren't playing with their own cards just yet. Just a test with holographic cards that the Queen has set up. She hmms as she looks at the grid.
Aerith Aerith sighed. Inevitable. She supposed a good defense wasn't enough when one card was the weak link. "Well then, it's not like we bet anything." She grinned and gathered her cards. "I'll have to make a better deck next time, won't I?" All in good fun!
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart giggles and nods "Well we were playing with the no trade rule. Plus we'll get better cards as we play too, right now, judging from the list here, we only have cards level 1 to 3, so there must be alot of better cards." She smiles "I need to get an actual deck of those though, these fake cards are no fun if you can't collect them.
Chocolina "I LOOOOOOOOSSSTTT!!!!"

And Chocolina wails. All of her chocobo chicks are there to comfort here.
Don Corneo "Gwaaa haa ha ha ha ha!" Don Corneo drunkenly seizes one of Chocolina's cards. He had been swaying on his feet all card battle long, but has alcohol awakened his true power? "One more step on my path to a Custom Card set full of beautiful women!" Wait, doesn't he manufacture the Custom Cards? Why doesn't he just-- never mind.

"Now then, my sweet--" Wriggling his fingers at Chocolina, he takes a step forward, but a phalanx of small chocobo, wings flapping rapidly, immediately bar his path. +_+ "Err..."

Even Don Corneo thinks better of it.
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart blinks, but smiles as she gets her very own deck now, along with a shiny new card "Oooh, that's pretty~" She examines the new card "A Promo Card?" She hmms.
Chocolina All of the chocobo chicks:

0=o0= 0=o0= 0=o0= 0=o0= 0=o0= 0=o0=

0Jiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii~

That's all the warning that the Don gets.
Aerith Aerith grinned as she held up her card. "Yup, promo card!" She grinned and put it in the inside pocket of her jacket. "Oh this is gonna be so much fun, Tifa. Besides, it'll be something to do to pass the time."
Don Corneo "Gwa haa haa ha ha! Let's battle it out, Queenie!" the Don blurts, wheeling over to the Queen of Cards, clearly willing to Triple Triad duel anyone who asks. "I'll win for the honor of my sworn brother, Gilgamesh!!"

They can commisserate together when the Queen of Cards cheats the Don out of everything and eventually throws him out of Serendipity. In her defense, it will probably be for the best.
Aerith Aerith sighed. "I won't look until we get back to the bar. I need to play something else around here!"
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart giggles "Well, you could always go around selling cards instead of flowers too." She teases a bit, checking through her newly acquired stash of cards. "So got any interesting cards in there?"
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart hmms "Well, wasn't there something else that was unlocked around here?" She wonders, looking over to Chocolina and the Don. "The cards were one thing, but we also had to hel pout chocobos no?
Aerith A nod from the flower girl. "Yeah, we did. So I'd assume there's something related to them around here, maybe a race track or something. Shall we go look?" With that, she removes herself from the felt table and begins her exploration of Serendipity!
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart nods and smiles, standing up as well, putting her cards into one of the pockets of her suit. Normally she puts tips in there, but this works well.
Don Corneo Don Corneo lurches away from trying to burn a hole in the front of the Queen's dress by staring at it to respond to Tifa's remark, swinging his by now empty chalice about. "Ah, the Chocobo Circuit! It's on the other side of Serendipity! Chocolina, our world-crossing expert, managed to get it connected to the Chocobo Ranch directly! But, uh, it's temporarily closed..."

PREVIOUSLY

"Boss, no, that's an /actual/ chocobo!!"

"KWEH KWEH KWEH!"

"Gyaaaaaaahhhh--!?"

NOW

"...should be dealt with shortly," the Don finishes, a little flustered
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart says, "It locked up on Reize and beatrix too"
Tifa Lockhart Tifa Lockhart says, "I think we got reset in our game"
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander says, "Oh, it has. It just uses your screams to power someone else's FIOS"
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander says, "I am pondering some form of RP. Or at least some Triple Triad."
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander says, "Awesome. Aren't you up like super late though? Have you slept?"
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander says, "So, what do you want to do, and with whom? I know Riku is avoiding Mercade right now, so."
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander says, "Do you have a plan? Or would you rather just fling cards at each other?"
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander says, "I think you snapped a bit there."
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander says, "Everything went find though. I went and bugtested extensively."
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander says, "Fount a huge bug in the Plus rules."
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander says, "Riku and Mercade can't meet right now so that's out."
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander says, "Oh right, I never posted that newspost about that thing."
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander says, "I have a lot of restrictions on my time this week."
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander says, "MWTh are out and Tu and F are the TP scenes."
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander says, "I'm not actually having as much drive on Sho as I was expecting. On the other hand, I haven't had much need for random mayhem with recent events."
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander says, "That and the TWEWY cast is distressingly hard to assemble."
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander says, "Hobbit is going to be awesome though."
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander says, "Sho is cool enough but I think I'll be hopping back on the horse with him after this week."
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander says, "He's very much my 'guilt-free mayhem' character."
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander says, "Would you explode if you played someone that positive?"
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander says, "I can't app Sora, I've got Mercade."
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander says, "But right, I will have to wait."
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander explodes from poking, much like a Warcraft critter.
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander says, "And of course now we have an ACTUAL thief instead of just a hobo"
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander says, "Then again, the TDA doesn't have anything that qualifies as a target in Max's mind. We're too space poor."
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander is going to get it back and rejoice just for Max to swoop in.
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander says, "I'm trying to find her without you! She's impossible! :("
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander says, "Anyway, if there's no RP, let's Triple Triad"
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander is going to level Watson up to be an epic chocobo, dammit.
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander says, "He even had to use one of those Knight's Vows. Gawd."
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander says, "It's enough to make an emo darkness-tormented deuteragonist flop over."
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander says, "It doesn't LOOK like I took anything."
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander says, "It's sad, though, since I just somehow won with level 1 and 2 cards."
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander says, "I would have used Plus too if it wasn't bugged. TOMORROW."
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander says, "I think that should be changed, but eh"
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander says, "It's no worse than farming points on None."
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander says, "I don't have any good cards left!"
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander says, "Although since we're playing on none I guess I can use my remaining level 3s."
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander says, "I moved to 1s and 2s because I wanted to stop losing my 3s for a while."
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander says, "The Heart of the Cards is just cheating with a better name!"
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander says, "It'll be less of a problem as people break into level 4 and 5 cards (because Z1-4 are actually underpowered for their level) but right now they're dominant."
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander says, "But not everyone had a chance. Like Max there."
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander says, "Actually, what you reminded me of was this old animated video series."
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander says, "Called Rub A Dub Dub, which set a ton of old rhymes to silly music and visuals."
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander says, "One of them was actually kind of scary when they did 'The Bells of Saint Martins'"
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander says, "Here comes a candle to light you to bed, and here comes a chopper to chop off your head..."
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander says, "Some old nursery rhymes were quite morbid."
Mercade Alexander Mercade Alexander is going to go investigate some cardage real fast.
