No description.
Reize Seatlan It's late at night in Targ Woods.
The atmosphere is pretty dense, generally filled with monsters. However, acting as a ward, the camp fire had been set up in the center of a clearing. After dinner was made, the adventurer and Shiki slept for the night. Both were sleeping on opposite ends of the area. However, Reize could not sleep.
Rising up from the bed, the young traveler made his way to his clothing, putting the scarf and the gauntlets back on. He slipped his blanket around the sleeping Shiki, offering her a faint smile.
The flames will be there to keep her warm.
He turns away and settles off to the further parts of the forest.
It feels strange, being unable to sleep. It was a resonating light that kept him up. That light came from his pendant, to which he started to follow a path on the road. As he walks along the long road, he comes to a stop.
In front of him is a shining star in the form of an orb. "...This is similar to what I saw in that world..." He squints. His fingers touch against that glowing orb. A voice of a child...
0~ Please, I wish someone would help me find my mother... ~
Blink.
"..." The boy lowers his head, the star fading while the pendant's glow fades. "..Guh." He furrows his eyebrows, "I don't get it."
Riku This is beginning to get very tiring.

Riku pulls at the branches of the tree he was hanging from, trying to reach backwards to disentangle himself. The tree creaks ominiously in the monster infested wood. The darkness isn't as much of a barrier as it would be to others, but he still can only make out vague shapes as he starts to reach the end of his patience. Nearly every time he'd made a personal jump he had crash landed somewhere completely other than where he had been aiming.

There had to be some gimmick, some reason the magic wasn't performing as expected, and he had nobody to blame but himself. Somehow, he was to fault for the magic going awry. "Up in a tree again." Riku grumbles in a foul temper. "Brill--Ahhh" CRACK. The tree gave up it's struggle with the young teenager. OOf--

Riku landed in a clumsy roll on the forest floor. He landed on his already sore shoulder, not adding very much to his disposition as he struggles to his feet picking bits and pieces of leaves from his hair. Where had he ended up THIS time?

Riku blinked several times, squinting as he sees a campfire not too far away. He hides behind a tree nearby , catching his breath as he tries to puzzle out what to do. If anybody unfriendly were over they, they surely would have heard the commotion.
Reize Seatlan The pendant continues to shine like a beacon. It's brilliant radiance illuminating the forest. However, its light dies a bit slowly. Where it starts fading, Reize finally turns to hear something. He blinks over the sound of some commotion.
Frown.
"I better get back."
When he runs back to the camp grounds, his worries were alleviated when he sees Shiki is still asleep. A smile is given her way, then he turns ahead to see what is ahead.
He knows he heard /something/.
He walks along the woods, calling out, "Hello? Anyone there? Are you alright?" Maybe it's a person. ...Or maybe it's a monster. It's hard to say.
Riku Riku knocks his head against a tree very lightly. He hadn't been surprised anybody in the last few, oh, miles, had heard that.

He vaguely remembers the voice from somewhere but can't really pin it down. He doesn't know whether revealing himself is a safe move or not yet, so he stays hidden behind the tree.

He moves around it, trying to get a better angle and get a look at who was doing the talking before making a decision.
Reize Seatlan It's not too difficult to make out the presence of the boy. Should Riku venture closer and around the angle of the woods, he will see a very confused boy.
"Hello...?" Reize is scratching his head. He looks around a couple of times with a confused look on his face. He grumbles after a moment. "I guess I was just hearing things." He run his hand along his forehead, muttering to himself.
Briefly, his pendant glows with the faint, brilliant light. The boy looks at the relic on his neck. "...Guh, I still don't understand this...." He turns around, likely heading back to that campfire.
Riku Riku paces along behind Reize as he heads back to the campfire. He remembers now, the boy from Manhattan who was flailingly lost on his way to another world he had been trying to find for someone else.

It was almost touchingly ridiculous in a very familiar way. Riku smirks, unable to help himself as he leans against a tree not too far away, now in more plain view and directly behind Reize. "Yep. Your just hearing things."
Reize Seatlan Just hearing things. As the disembodied voice confirms things for him, Reize responds to it. "I figured that was the case, thanks!"
He takes one step forward and he blink.
...Wait a second...
The boy quickly turns around and he faces the stranger that is now in plain view. Oh man, it's the one older teenage that was pretty much on edge and pulled out some sword. However, the boy brightens cheerfully and waves, "Oi! Wow, I didn't expect to find you here!" Pause. "Oh! Finaly got my friend to Midgar!"
Riku Almost word for word. Unbelievable. Riku shakes his head, his grin looking bemused and a touch condescending. "I thought you'd get there eventually. Your.. Reize, right?" he leans away from the tree, rubbing at his shoulder as he took a few steps towards Reize. "I seem to be somewhat turned around myself. Where is this place?'
Reize Seatlan The condescending nature of Riku goes over Reize's head for now. Maybe he'll catch it. Maybe he won't. Who knows. The boy brightens, "Yeah! Reize! And you are ..."
Blink.
"I don't think I ever gotten your name! Pleased to meet you!" He beams, then he considers the area, "Well, from what Tifa told me before we left, this would be Targ Woods. The place is filled with a lot of strange monsters. From there, there is the Mythril Cave." He tries to remember, "After that, a town... Junon or something."
Riku Riku nods, looking like he's storing that information away for later. "I'm Riku. It's nice to meet you Reize." he says this with a little laugh, while not unkind, is definitely referencing some internal joke.

"You mind if I share your campfire until I get my bearings? I don't think I can make it back to the gate I came through in this gloom."
Reize Seatlan The cheerful demeanor never ceases to falter. The traveler looks over to the older teenager before he grins at his request, "Sure!" He rubs the back of his head. "You're also welcome to some meat at the spit! It's been cooked already!"
He sighs, "Just keep note, Shiki's sleeping..." His voice becomes quieter as he starts making his way back to the campfire, "So, don't want to wake her up." He considers, "We were planning to head to the mine in the morning..."
"If we make the mine in the morning, we may make the mine at sundown, hopefully."
Riku "Another quest?" Riku asks in an amused but quieter register, picking leaves and twigs from his jacket and rubbing his hands along his arms as they make their way to the campfire. He sits down on the edge of the clearing, glancing at Shiki for a moment before looking back at Reize.
Reize Seatlan "Well..." Reize adds, "We are supposed to be meeting up with my friends at Fluorgis. We are going to get the Shard Seekers recognized as an official clan." The boy gives a brighter smile. The optimism of the hopes of getting the group established is high.
"However, I was told that the town past the mines has one of those flying cars, or some ship that can fly in the air that will get us there. Once we get there, Shiki and I will meet up with my other friends, who are likely there already."
Riku Riku furrows his brow, then blinks as he remembers. "Oh. That's right. This all had to do with some cards you had, right?" he looks momentarily uneasy, then continues. "What exactly is it you and the Shard Seekers are looking for again?" he takes out a black journal from his jacket, making a few notes as he flips the pages back and forth.
Reize Seatlan Those cards...
A touch of somberness strikes Reize when he reaches to his pouch to procure the tarot deck. He looks towards Riku, nodding. "Yes." He runs his hand over to the card. "... I don't know much about them myself, really. I only just recall a place I was at... The depictions on the ground matched all of my cards." He furrows his eyebrows.
"Many of the Shard Seekers wish to restore their worlds. I was told by a friend that the missing worlds exist as shards. If we find them, perhaps we can restore the world." He brightens, "...An advenure for me and a chance to help others along my journey."
Riku Riku snorts softly. "And get up to your neck in trouble." he looks at Reize appraisingly, drawing one leg up to rest a hand on his knee. "Many of the worlds that still survive are swarming with heartless, let alone the lost ones. Are you sure you're up to this?"
Reize Seatlan That is the issue. The Heartless. His eyebrows furrow as the older teenager brings up a huge factor. "I recall encountering them when I was at that world..." He places his hand along his pendant, his eyebrows furrowing. It puts him at an uncomfortable feeling just thinking about the encounter with the Heartless.
However, he looks up towards Riku. "...Yeah. For the friends that I have met and whereever my journey will take me..." His expression becomes more thoughtful. It switches to determined look towards Riku, "I will continue to move on. Knight's Vow #68: Whatever obstacle that comes your way, never back down."
Riku Riku shakes his head slowly, that condescending smile returning to his face. He considers Reize thoughtfully, and decides to push a little harder. "Words are plentiful but cheap. Is there going to be a Knight's vow to cover what happens if you bite off more than you can chew and get your friends hurt while questing?"
Reize Seatlan Annnd the cheerfulness ends there.
Now that is where Reize narrow his eyes towards Riku. The adventurer looks over towards Riku, "My friends are just as capable. Many of them have joined me knowing that here is no other way. We won't back down from anything that tries to stop us from finding and freeing the other worlds."
"People have lost people that they've known. We won't live in that fear. People have a fighting chance to change things for the better. That is what the Shard Seekers plan to do."
Riku Riku continues to smile at him. He stretches, putting his hands behind his head as he leans up against a tree. "Yeah. Alright. I get it now." he says with calculated dismissal, sliding his knee down and crossing his feet as he stares with passive amusement into the fire. Everything about his body language was broadcasting his boredom with the subject.
Reize Seatlan Sigh. Honestly, this guy...
His eyes are kept towards Riku, his eyes watching over the older teenager, if a bit warily now. The antenna hair flips back and forth, the frown still there from his 'challenge'. Though, Reize turns his attention towards Shiki, who may likely still be sleeping. Just avoid waking her up.
The boy looks back at Riku, "What about you? What do you plan to do? Do you have some journey of your own? I know you're looking for your friends, but... What will you do once you find them?"
Riku Riku frowns slightly, a shadow passing across his face temporarily. He then grins. "I'll think of something." he brushes off the question as inconsequential. He takes in a short breath, sighing slightly as the smile wilts on his face slightly. "But the three of us, we're a team. Whatever happens, it'll be together." he starts to smirk again. "You know, you remind me a lot of them. A little." he shrugs, continuing on with a flippant wave. "At least I know they can take care of themselves."
Reize Seatlan "That is how I feel about my friends."
His hand gestures to the sleeping Shiki, "...We will be going through our journey together. Whatever happens, we'll face it together. They know the dangers that come and many of them have their own reasons and history." He furrows his eyebrows, "...I never witnessed my world being overran by the Heartless, but many of them have. I know my world was likely overran, but.. It felt like I was somewhere else."
He looks directy at Riku, "Many of them are a lot more experienced than I am and have proven that they can handle themselves." He brightes to a smile, looking back at Shiki.
"All I can do is help them, with not only restoring their world..." But help them achieve their wish.
He blinks for a moment, looking at Riku, "Really?" He rubs the back of his head, "Hehe." He brightens, "...We have something that we're fighting for. Our friends."
Riku Riku shakes his head. "You are the biggest sap in the world." he pushes himself to his feet, pushing even harder as he the youth monologues. He's starting to like Reize, but he doesn't let on about it. "So. Tell me, did you get all of those vows from a book or how does it work with you. Cereal box tops?"
Reize Seatlan Blink.
"Cereal box?" He peers towards Riku. "...What's a cereal?"
He shakes his head, "No! My father taught them to me." He muses, "My father was an adventurer long ago. He traveled the world, seen many things, and learned about other cultures and the likes." He looks over at Riku, "...I've spent fourteen years in a small village in the middle f nowhere. His stories were all that I knew about."
A faint smile is given, "I wanted an adventure for myself, just like my dad had..." He looks towards Riku. "You've shared stories with your friends, right?"
"Have you ever wanted to relive the adventures of those before you, and yet at the same time, go beyond their path?"
Riku Riku laughs in Reize's face. He's just so startled that he can't help himself. He blinks incredulously at the boy, putting a hand behind his neck as if he just can't believe what he's hearing. "Yeah." he looks down at his shoes, knowing he'll start laughing again if he's not really careful. "Yeah. I know the feeling." he almost feels bad now. It's like kicking a puppy. He doesn't decipher the mystery of the cereal. It's left for the ages to solve. He just leans against a tree, crossing his arms. "Sounds like you really looked up to him."
Reize Seatlan Confusion marks the boy's face as Riku laughs at him. Although he is confused, he is also becoming pretty annoyed. His ahoge is moving about, pointing at Riku like a serpent. However, he calms considerably when the boy adds that he knows the feeling.
Reize smiles a little more now. He looks over towards Riku, "Yeah! Father taught me how to use the boomerang for my first hunt!" He holds onto the pendant, "...And gave me this pendant... which I still know nothing about."
Riku Riku raises an eyebrow at the admission, looking at the pendant briefly. His hand strays for a moment towards his jacket, but the black cord there is mostly hidden by his shirt and collar. He realizes what he's doing and drops his hand, refolding his arms. "So, you have no idea what your doing.. but it's the right thing to do, so you'll charge at it anyways face first." he chuckles at the last two words.
Reize Seatlan A faint smile is directed towards Riku, "...No. I am not sure about many things. Where the journey will take me, or the tarots, or the pendant." Then, he gives a determined look towards Riku with a smile.
"However, as you said. I will charge at it face first!"

...
...
Wait. 'Face first?'
He indignantly scowls at Riku, the ahoge pointing at him accusingly.
"HEY!"
Riku Riku laughs, rubbing the bridge of his nose. He hasn't laughed his hard in what seemed like a long time. Every time he appears to be slowing down, he looks at the accusing stare of Reize and laughs harder.
Shiki Misaki Mr. Mew walks up and kicks Riku in the shin. This is basically completely ineffective, but is probably Shiki's way of saying 'keep it down jerk'.
