Paths Yet Unseen
(2014-01-24 - Now)
Much time has passed since the first meeting between a certain sage and a certain flower girl. Oddly enough, she had homework to do. But with so much else going on, an embarrassed Aerith calls up Paulo Mysidi to inform him of her failure. How will he take it?
Aerith It's never good to inform someone of bad news, but Aerith had to do it today.

She clearly remembered the first few times they met, and oddly enough, he gave her an assignment. Over time, she'd forgotten what it was he'd asked of her, but remembered that he'd asked something. But with everything going on, she... well, didn't have time to do it.

It was with that in mind that Aerith trudged into the Cloud Nine, her head down somewhat. She picked a booth in one of the corners of the room, slumped down, and sighed. Everything that could distract her from what he'd requested of her had happened, and now she was faced with the possibility of not learning anything else.

She sank into the cushions and waited for him, wondering what he'd think of the letter she'd sent him...

To Paulo Mysidi,

I regret to inform you that, despite my best efforts to do so, I haven't completed the task you've given me. Too much has been going on to even think about it. Please meet me at Cloud Nine in Traverse Town; we'll talk more when you get here.

Spirits guide you,

Aerith
Paulo Mysidi It has been a bit of time-- but Paulo is either the type that remembers all the details or none at all. It is hard to tell which at times. The blonde young sage had been wandering around Traverse town for a couple hours before coming across Cloud Nine. It wasn't all that hard to find in retrospect-- but he ended up with a need to take a scenic route.

"Warm and inviting," says the blue eyed man as Paulo makes his way further inside. Finding Aerith's booth, he emphatically points to her, "I give this place four out of five chocobos-- and only because the fifth is taking a nap." If he picked up on her glum chum moodlet, he is deciding to replace it with sunshine and bad bird references.
Aerith Aerith glanced over at him with a smile, or at least an attempt at one. "I dunno, the fifth one might wake up if he smells the food here." She scooted over to give him some room to sit, then faced the opposite wall to her booth. "...Did you get my message?"
Paulo Mysidi Paulo Mysidi slips into the booth with the grace of a hungry teenager at a dinner. "Yes," the sage says gravely, "I believe it went something like 'Paulo. You are so awesome. So awesome that my smile-maker was broken and I thought of you. Can you please impart some awesome to fix my face?'" He leans forward to poke her forehead as if the power button to her face was there.
Aerith Aerith chuckled and brushed his finger away. "You're trying to be cute, and I appreciate it." She sighed and turned toward him. "I'm sorry, I couldn't do what you asked me to do." She shrugged. What could she say but the truth? "Things happened that were outside of my control. It took so long to get out of that, I didn't really have any time for something like cooking." She smiled. "It would have been interesting, though."

Aerith turned away and sighed. "Guess this means it's over, huh? Not like I want it to be, but you're the teacher."
Paulo Mysidi Paulo Mysidi scratches the back of his head during the confession. "I mean, I'm not exactly your keeper or anything, Aerith. I would need to be shorter, wear glasses, and constantly have a notebook with me." The sage thinks about it and pats his tome, "I have the notebook, at least. Point is-- get around to it when you want to get around to it if you want to get around to it." The young man smiles, "People learn at their own pace. I think I can forgive some world saving heroics as an excuse for some delayed homework assignment."
Aerith Aerith chuckled. "I appreciate it. I mean, I thought you would be a bit more... I dunno, unforgiving about all this." She turned toward him. "Show's how much I know, doesn't it? Then again, it's good not to know, because then you can learn, right?" She brightened up considerably after that. "Speaking of which, got anything to teach me today?"
Paulo Mysidi "I dunno, you seem to be doing a pretty good job beating yourself up about it," Paulo says with a wild grin on his face. "Friendship is about forgiveness, and I'm your friend before I am a teacher. That would make this a lesson in and of itself!" Lesson in a lesson?! Lessonception.
Aerith Aerith couldn't help herself after that.

She reached over with one arm and pulled Paulo in for a hug. "You know what, I knew I'd like you from the moment I met you, and I'm glad I was right! I'll try my best to finish this up, no matter how goofy it sounds."
