Seloria Delacreaux SOME TIME AGO:

Nik got a 'please come over' message from one Seloria, with a urgent tag placed on it. He knows where to go; aside from Seloria, he's one of the only three other people trusted with a key. The other two... well...

Let's make it safe to say this conversation might be about those other two.

AND NOW:

He does, however, walk into mass chaos, seamstress style - clothing everywhere, fabric everywhere, and few, lazily-rolling-across-the-floor unwinding spools of thread. And .. Seloria sitting there in a pile of silk, looking unhappily confused.
Niklas Dragonius "Youuuu look kinda out of it," Niklas Dragonius observes as he makes his way over and through several of the huge spools of silk, carefully avoiding touching it too much or ruffling it or tearing it. Again, that 'precise muscle control' thing works really well in Nik's favor.

Nik ducks, weaves, and bobs through the mess of silk towards Seloria. "What's up? You don't usually tell me something's urgent."
Seloria Delacreaux "Hi!" Seloria says, before blurting out;

"I think Murasame is going to go totally evil and I think Helena wants to take me with her." Then she sinks her heads into her hands, and she mumbles, "I think I may have gotten Alma killed, too."
Niklas Dragonius Nik just sits there for a moment, a thing of silk pushed up from over him as Seloria talks. He stares at her for a really long moment; then he taps his radio and says something over it. He frowns after a moment.

He really doesn't want to say 'I told you so.'

"Okay, but...are *you* okay?" Nik asks, moving over another thing of silk and sitting down beside her. "I mean, yeah, I know you're not /okay/, but you're not *hurt*, physically, right? You're unharmed, you don't need to see Kyra or anybody, you're okay?"

He really doesn't want to say 'I told you so'.

*Really* doesn't.
Seloria Delacreaux Seloria's fingers carefully pull the fabric towards her and she neatly and carefully folds it up into small bundles of silk, wrapping thread around them to keep them from falling apart.

She then looks at him as he takes a seat next to her on the floor in front of her desk, her green eyes narrowing at him from over the rims of her glasses. She just /watches/ him for awhile.

"Even if I was hurt, I could take care of it." She mutters, her voice crisp. She does have her own white-mage skills - thanks, Sylph and Siren.

Drawing her legs up to her chest, she wraps her arms around them as she settles her chin on top of her knees, avoiding his actual question, before saying, almost spitefully,

"You might as well say it, I know what you're thinking."
Niklas Dragonius "Nah." Nik's hands go backwards, supporting him as he leans back to stare up at the ceiling. "Even if I was thinking it, it's not important to me. If you're okay, that's important. If Alma's alive, that's important. Murasame being a dick is pretty far from my mind right now."

He doesn't say anything else. He just sits there, silent, taking in the ceiling with the same sort of calm apathy he takes in most things that don't matter to him. It's a ceiling. He's seen a dozen. He's seen a lot of them from under somebody else, too.

They all start to look the same after a while. Maybe there's something to that.
Seloria Delacreaux Seloria starts to wonder why she bothered telling Nik. Yes, she trusts him, and adores him, but the amount of fucks he typically gives about Murasame and everything else is normally 'none' with very, very slight variations to 'little'.

"Yeah. Woo. Contracted to a evil corporation. I guess I really do follow my dad's dumb footsteps." She says, her voice tight.

"And too pretty to do anything smart." She says, flatly. Ouch.
Niklas Dragonius "Hey, come on. You're not dumb. I pushed you into it, after all. It's my fault if anything happens to you." That didn't make *him* feel better, but it's true, she wasn't /stupid/. He needed her help, after all. Nik exhales and lays back against the silk, still staring up at the ceiling tile. "I don't think you're dumb."

"Kinda ditzy sometimes, maybe a little airheaded, but dumb isn't the word I'd use." Nik crosses his arms behind his back. "Besides, what's he gonna do, force you to do bad things against your will? You can get out of it. It's not like most people are going to support an actually openly evil organization when he comes to collect with lawyers."
Seloria Delacreaux "That doesn't make me feel better." Seloria points out, even as he leans back and promptly ruins all of her little gathered silk piles. She takes a very deep breath and lets it out evenly.

She rolls her head to look at him. "S-sorry."
Niklas Dragonius "For what?" Nik replies after a moment. "Don't think you have anything to apologize for, do you?"
Seloria Delacreaux "I always do, Nik."

Selly points this out while she adjusts her position, laying down facefirst onto the floor. "Urgghhhhhhh." She groans into the wooden floor, her head thumping down onto the wooden panels.
Niklas Dragonius "You really, really don't," Nik replies quietly as he reaches over to pat her hand. "You gotta stop blaming yourself for everything that goes wrong in life. Nobody's perfect. Everybody's got their flaws. You gotta just learn to coast."

He shrugs his shoulders against some of the silk. "I mean, nobody's right all the time."
Seloria Delacreaux "I'm not /blaming/ myself for everything, only the things I know I've had such a significant hand in that I might potentially get someone that significantly looks up to me in a very serious position or even /killed/."

"Murasame likes to think he is." She notes.
Niklas Dragonius "He's wrong, and so are you. If Alma's in trouble, she's in trouble in no small part because of her own actions. Don't forget that. Even if you encouraged or helped her arrive wherever she is, in whatever danger she's in, you're not the one who pulled the trigger. Maybe it's a little irresponsible to think that way, but...."

Nik sighs.

"Just...trust me. Don't beat yourself up over it. Especially not until you know whether or not she's actually in danger."
Seloria Delacreaux "How do you... how do you manage to just /stay/ so calm?" Seloria asks, staring at Nik from her very awkward flop position. "I mean, is it just the training you did to learn your summoning-martial arts, or is .. is it just the way you are, that you don't really get upset or angry?"

Alexander Academy's favorite mermaid faceplants again back onto the wooden floor.

"Also, if you ruin all of my silk, you're so goin' to owe me."
Niklas Dragonius Nik shrugs.

"I haven't found a whole lot in my life worth gettin' really really angry about. I might really dislike Murasame but at the end of the day, he hasn't hurt anybody I care about yet that I know of; he's a jerk, but it's not like I don't know he's not entirely wrong. I only hate the guy 'cause he tries to shove his way of life down my throat."

"I'm sure one day I'll find somethin' that's gonna make me angry beyond belief and that's gonna be a day to see, but..." Nik shrugs. "Last time I was really, truly angry at somebody I put a kid in the hospital."

"Relax, I'm not gonna ruin it."
Seloria Delacreaux Seloria winces slightly, even as she shifts her weight, pulling herself back onto her butt as she peers at Nik for a few minutes.

Then, mostly out of the blue:

"Have you gotten any of the other girls to sleep with you yet?"
Niklas Dragonius "I haven't been trying very hard lately," Nik replies honestly.
Seloria Delacreaux Blink. Blink.

What.

"Why?" Seloria finally gets out.
Niklas Dragonius Nik shrugs. "Just been doing other stuff lately," he replies. "Hasn't really been on my mind. Whole big worlds out there."
