Riku Riku sits at the base of a street lamp (Like hell is he going to trust another tree again) with the journal in his lap along with several other library books. He makes a few notations in the journal, turning a few pages.

Several of the ones near the front have been slashed and every so often, it seems he can't help but turn back to those pages. The sketchings he made of Destiny Island and the picture of his friends he used to help find Sora are in ruins.

He taps a pencil very slowly against his thigh because the alternative is to drive the pencil into the concrete hard enough to shatter the pencil and he doesn't fancy picking shards of pencil out of his hand right now.
Will Sherman Sometimes, Will has the luck to be at the right place at the right time.

Is this one of those moments? Maybe. Hat on his head, Will walks with his hands at his sides, blinking a few times as he seems to be adjusting his eyes to the night. He looks up, wondering what the stars look like...not that you can see many from Manhattan, even with the other burrows gone, it still is a lot of light pollution.

Looking back infront of him, he spots Riku. "Hey." He says, walking normally again. It seems his injuries have healed. "You okay?"
Riku "No." Riku finds himself saying before he can put the brakes on. Riku closes his eyes and rubs at them. It had to be his lack of control-- but he hadn't been able to help the spike when Deidra shredded the--No. It was an accident. It's only a picture.

It didn't matter. He finds himself echoing that last thought softly. "doesn't matter." at which point he gains enough control over himself to cough faintly. "I'm not. But at least I'm catching up on my reading. Since I don't come from here, there's a lot of things to learn. Some of this might even come in handy someday.." he looks up at Will. "Looks like your feeling better."
Will Sherman "Eh, I heal. I got some of that magic healin' they do over in other lands...was kinda worried I'd explode, but apparently it didn't do that." Will says casually, "Don't worry about me, I'll be fine..." he says. "I'm more concerned about you. What's eating you man? I mean, I know the tree thing and everything was a bit rough...but it looked like pure murder in your feelings yesterday."
Riku "Deidra.. surprised me. That's all." Riku shakes his head. "It's not important. You know, it's kind of strange. People going on with their lives. So much of what's in these books is gone.

It's somewhat difficult to pick out the parts that still hold true." he snorts, picking up 'Delving into the Manhattan Underground' and pointing it edge on at Will for a moment before setting it down. "Although I guess every world has it's share of crazy people. Did your people INVENT the conspiracy theory or something?"
Will Sherman Will laughs after a bit.

"Yeaaaaah. I'd like to say it was a crazy thing...but sometimes even the paranoid ones are right once in a while." he says, with a grin. "However, I don't know much about the 'conspiracy' other than it exists and we have an understanding of not getting involved with the other. Though I am sure if they thought I was a threat, or had any inclination of helping them it'd be a different relationship." he says with a smirk. Was he kidding?

"So what's it your looking for specifically? Or just curious about this world?"
Riku "Nothing in particular. I was just trying to make some sort of pattern out of why some things were saved and others not. Look here." he gets out a subway map. "Some of these sections don't exist anymore, but all of the ones around here.," he circles an area that also includes the Empire State building. "The line from 6 to 33rd street and the.." he looks at his own notes, pausing for a long time before continuing.

".. 1/2/3 to 34th are not only intact. They haven't been touched. All the subway area in this group here. So--" Riku shrugs. "Just wanted to find some answers. It-" he chuckles in a very strained manner. "It makes me feel better to know a little more. Not exactly safer but-- maybe if I pull at the smaller questions for long enough, a bigger one will unravel in my lap."
Will Sherman "...Huh." Will says, rubbing his chin for a moment.

"That is interesting." Will says after a minute, "Didn't think about that...but well.." he finally shrugs. "I guess I can't say it's convient...But that's something." he considers after a moment.

"Of course, Riku, the more answers you get, the more the questions will pile on. I don't wana discourage, but that's how things work." Will says with a nod. "But, I have to wonder if the missing pieces are like puzzle pieces of this world in more ways than one..."
