Raiya Fujihara There is much to see and do in the trade city of Fluorgis. Travellers from afar roam the streets, hawking their wares and doing a little shopping of their own. But there is not just shopping to entertain oneself in this city, there are many wondrous sights to behold. The freshwater waterfalls are such a sight that is very popular with both tourist and resident alike.

Raiya Fujihara arrived at one of the city's waterfalls about one hour ago and she has been disinclined to leave this place since then. With eveything that has happened and was about to happen, the waterfall was a great source of calm within the samurai. Not to mention that the fresh-water source did wonders to alleviate the desert heat. Holding a small jug towards the waterfall, Raiya seems to be intent on topping off her own water source before moving on.
Maira Maira was visiting the marketplace to buy some food supplies for herself, a companion, and her chocobo. Especially the chocobo. Mao had a ravenous appetite! Maira could appreciate that well enough!

Her mount was the source of much admiration, which the chocobo took in stride and Maira simply beamed over. A glorious red bird, apparently he was a rare sight.

Bags of greens in hand, Maira walks along with Mao's lead, her eyes roaming. At least until she spots a familiar samurai. "Raiya?" she asks, leading Mao over to investigate.
Raiya Fujihara The sun-hat wearing samurai finishes filling her waterjug and smiles faintly to herself as she takes a cursory sip from it. Once she lowers it and tucks it safely away in her sash, Raiya would be ready to finally depart from this serene location.
But then Raiya hears a voice that she has not heard in quite some time. Perhaps it would not hurt her to stay awhile longer.

Raiya saunders over towards Maira and her rare chocobo with a wave being offered as she draws nearer. "Long time since we last crossed paths. Fate has been unkind." The blonde swordswoman supposes while flashing an easy smile at Maira. "I hope that you have been well since we last spoke."
Maira Maira smiles brightly. "It is you! Heh...it has been a while, hasn't it?" she asks. Last time they had met, things were pretty awkward! Apparently, she's not with Ivo. Where /was/ that guy anyway? "Yeah, I've been...well, busy I guess. I wasn't great but things are getting better," she replies, smile persistent. "Manhattan and all that...it was messy, but its back so....that's really awesome. How have you been? What have you been up to?" she asks, reaching up to give her chocobo some petting. The bird leans into it, eyes closing happily.
Raiya Fujihara Things were indeed pretty awkward and so was the conversation that Raiya had with Ivo afterwards about it. Over a month has passed since then and pehaps time has calmed things down a bit. Raiya purses her lips together as she listens to Maira talk about how she was and about Manhattan. "I wish I had been there." The woman's conical hat gets pushed back slightly. "I was there during the fall and my inability to defeat the being called LEXUS and his soldiers weighed heavily on me." Not to mention the innocents who were depending on her victory back then.

"I have been...." Raiya draws off aimlessly before shrugging her shoulders. "...wandering again like I used to. My visit home to Wutai was not what I had expected it to be," continues the blonde as she watches the chocobo idly.
Maira Maira frowns, nodding. "Yeah, I felt the same about Manhattan...we fought so hard, but it wasn't enough...we did it though. We proved a world can be brought back. Heh...it was Avira. She was a princess of Light. My best friend saved Manhattan," she says with a proud grin.

Maira digs into the back of greens to feed some to Mao, doting over the chocobo as always. "Wutai...I've never been, but well, obviously I know of it..." she says, blinking then. "Huh. You know, I never realized we were from the same world...did you know? I grew up in Midgar."
Raiya Fujihara Avira. That was another person whom Raiya had not encountered in quite some time. "A princess of light? I am unfamiliar with that term." She replies before adding quickly, "But I would assume that this means that Avira has been taking care of herself as well?"

Before Raiya was a Shard-seeker, the samurai was a member of AVALANCHE. "I had not realized that fact either, but I have been to Midgar before." A pause. "One rarely forgets a trip there." Raiya smiles a slightly wolfish grin before considering the other woman silently for a moment.

"Did Ivo talk to you about his behavior since we last met?"
Maira Maira nods, smiling. "Yes, Avira is alright. She went through a great deal, but she's Avira, she will get through it. We're all there to help her if she needs it," Maira replies.

"Heh...I kind of miss home, though I don't know why I would miss the city itself...the slums aren't exactly a /nice/ place...but it was my home," Maira says, wistful.

When Raiya mentions Ivo, Maira blushes, her eyes narrowing slightly. "N-no he did not. In fact, I have not seen him for quite some time..."
Raiya Fujihara Avira seems to always be subjected to some serious troubles. On the other hands, she always seems to be able to deal with them by herself or with a little help from her friends. "I am very glad to hear that." Raiya says in a calm voice.

The brief comment about Midgar and its slums draws a nod out of Raiya. "There is a bar I recommend in the slums should you ever find your way there. You can find some good people there." Raiya doesn't say anything more than that, but AVALANCHE folks would probably not have a problem with Maira hanging out around them.

Maira's reaction to the Ivo question was not unexpected. Raiya knew a little about Maira and Ivo. "Neither have I and we did not part on the best of terms." The swordswoman lowers her gaze slightly. "I am also disheartened that he did not speak with you. I thought I was clear in what I had told him, but perhaps I have failed as a teacher once again." This was disappointing. Raiya was sure to have words with Ivo when he returned from wherever he was hiding.
Maira "Oh, you mean the one in Goug that Tifa runs? Yeah, I've been there! Sea salt ice cream...yum. I should visit again, it has kind of been a while! I've been here for a bit, probably going on some kind of adventure, I guess? I don't know," Maira admits with a shrug.

Maira looks concerned when Raiya admits to not having seen Ivo either, and to parting on bad terms. She frowns gently, still idly petting her chocobo, who is watching Raiya through one half-open eye. "Oh...I'm sorry to hear that Raiya. I hope I didn't do something to...make things...weird. I'm kind of worried that I have not seen him. I hope he is alright," she begins. When Raiya blames herself for failing as a teacher Maira, furrows her brow and places a hand on her hip. "You can't blame yourself if the student doesn't want to learn...Ivo is...well. He is thick-headed...but I don't think he really realizes that he is worth caring about. Then he hurts others because he doesn't think anyone could care about him so deeply that it would hurt them when he suddenly wasn't around," she replies, glancing downward.
Raiya Fujihara Raiya smiles when Maira brings up the sea-salt icecream. It felt like ages ago when she fought alongside Tifa and Co. to retrieve the recipe for the delightful dessert. "That is another person that I should visit. I have been gone for far too long," says the stoic samurai solemnly. Her journey was a personal one, but now it was time to return to the affairs of others.

It seems that Raiya was not the only one that had embarked on their own private odyssey. Ivo had been gone for a long time too? Hmmmmm. Raiya grows silent in contemplation over this matter.

Maira did not really do anything wrong. It was not -her- behavior that had irked the samurai-teacher. It was Ivo's own behavior. "I have a feeling that he will be alright when he returns from his own journey. I am only troubled that he did not say where he was going, but..." Raiya trails off into a shrug. "....neither did I before I left." The VALKYRI member's final comment and her downcasted look was read easily enough by the samurai. There was no use avoiding this conversation any longer. "I told Ivo that I could not bring him long-lasting happiness. I also told him that there were others with whom he would more easily find his own happiness." Raiya is looking directly at Maira now. "And I finally told him that his behavior was quite unfair and unkind towards the women in his life." The samurai stops there for now as she wanted to see if Maira was staying with her thus far.
Maira Oh, Maira is with her. "Heh..." she begins, shaking her head as she thinks back toward the time she and Ivo met on the beach. The day she basically told him what was what. "Raiya...I don't want to be in competition with anyone...I'm so tired of that feeling. I told Ivo I wouldn't be toyed with--that I wouldn't just sit by idly while he broke my heart because he couldn't make up his mind. He apologized...he..." she shakes her head, training off. Maira takes a deep breath before she continues. "I've forgiven him that, and we are friends. Its still complicated I guess, and we really need to talk...but with the way he just disappeared? Knowing we needed to talk again? I'm....really disappointed in him," she admits. "Worried yes, but if nothing is wrong...he should have sent some word."

Maira looks skyward for a few moment, frowning thoughtfully. "I suppose you are among those women, heh...though you probably knew better than I did."
Raiya Fujihara Raiya did not want to be in competition with Maira either and it seemed that her feelings might be a tad more serious than what had transpired between teacher and student. The samurai exchanges a look with Maira before nodding. "It seems that I should have been ever harsher with Ivo when we talked about this." She admits with a frown appearing on her face. It seems that she was a little late with her talk and Ivo was already acting the fool when it came to this. "Yes, he should have. There are many within the Shardseekers who still await word from him."

Maira's little jab towards Raiya causes the samurai's brows to raise slightly. Did that fool student of hers kiss and tell? A quiet anger floods through the samurai as she strains to maintain her composure and not allow her emotions to influence her actions and body language too much. "I did know. But not anymore." A long pause now. "Perhaps it will be better this way."
Maira Maira looks back to Raiya, frowning, looking embarrassed. "O-oh Raiya I didn't mean--I just assumed. I know you and Ivo are close and why /wouldn't/ he want to be with you? When you showed up together that time, it looked like a date and--" Maira sighs, shoulders slumping.

"Better what way? I don't...I don't know. I just hope that if you see him before I do, you...you give him a good smack for me, will you? Heh. If nothing else he is my friend and I'm worried about him, so he should think better about it before he worries his friends again," she says, leaning against Mao.

"It was nice talking to you Raiya...I hope we'll meet again sooner rather than later. I have to go meet my friend or he'll likely assume I got into trouble," she says. To be fair, she gets in trouble an awful lot.
Raiya Fujihara aiya closes her eyes and tilts her head down so that her hat conceals some of her features. What a complicated situation she found herself in and she had hoped that addressing this matter directly would resolve the previously unspoken issue between Maira and herself. They had gone a few dates before, but they were teacher and student and thus spent a lot of time together. The samurai purses her lips together and glances up at Maira once more. "Right. I surely will. For both of our sakes." She says stoically to the mage.

When she says that she has to be going, Raiya raises a hand to wave goodbye in a similar manner to how she said hello. That could have went better, but samurai were usually not the most skilled speakers. And yet, she feels that she just may have confused things more. Tch. What troubles her wayward student has caused. And with that, the Wutai samurai turns and heads down the path back towards the Shardseekes HQ.
