Flotsam on the Sea of Fate
(2012-09-16 - 2012-09-17)
Refugees from fallen worlds, visitors from distant stars: all who traverse the endless night find themselves in Traverse Town eventually. There, two injured teenagers stumble into a plaza, and a small and motley crew of wanderers gather to assist them. But when Heartless emerge from the shadows, it's time for our heroes to put on a show they'll never forget.
Reize Seatlan Welcome to Traverse Town...

It is a peaceful town that the citizens are able to relax and enjoy. It is historic that the people came together for when they were displaced from their homes. Traverse Town is a society of people that had learned to come togther in the most dire circumstances. It would seem that there would be many more displaced people.

Within this grandoise plaza is emerging a young boy, who looks to have been beaten. The young boy looks no older than fourteen years old. His face has a bit of a bruise and his body feels a bit worn. His movement has slowed down with each step that he had taken. He had been moving at a slower pace. Granted, that is because he is not alone.

Over his back is a young girl, who is likely still unconscious. It had been quite a strange ordeal for the both of them. Reize has the girl's arms slung over his shoulder, his arms keeping her held up.

"Guh... Finally made it."

Part of him is glad for the sight of some sort of city. However, he feels his body becoming more weaken and ready to break.

The fight with the Rhinotaur was a frightening battle. Even worse was the trip through the gate.

Just... keep moving. Don't fall yet.
Zeke Pirates! Storms! That lord Bloody Cutler's Decree!

Zeke trudged through the well appointed streets of Traverse town, turning the collar of his greatcoat up. This place was fancier than he was used to. He didn't know if that portal... hole... whatsit would stay open, or if this place was dangerous. So his crew, those that were under his regular employ that is, waited elsewhere for him to come back with news on this place they'd wandered into.

And then he spotted something. Child.. OK fine Teenager. Still, those marks looked fresh. He aproached to try investigating.

This from a rather large man (six fourish) weatherbeaten long coat, and armed. Several flintlock pistols could be seen depending on how the wind and walk made his coat move. And there was a sword in there too.
Ivo Galvan "...Never anticipated this."

A wry smile graces Ivo's exhausted features, his blue eyes dim beneath a stray dark lock of hair, as he leans back against the side of the plaza's gaudy central fountain. His sword lying forgotten at his side, having fallen from limp hands, the knight-errant allows his gaze to sweep across the vibrant colors of this strange new city. For all its unfamiliarity and the long shadows which the lights cast, he feels somehow at peace here.

Perhaps it's simply his fatigue.

In fact, that's almost certainly it. He'd never expended as much emotional energy, never experienced such intensity, as he had mere minutes ago, as his city, his very world was swallowed up around him. He attacked the darkness as though it were his own self-doubt. Why did he fight so hard, anyway?

More importantly, why is he even alive?

Curiosity after curiosity.

It's the boy in the long yellow scarf who first draws his eye, if only due to his current state -- and the girl he bravely shoulders. Lifting his eyebrows, Ivo slowly rises to his feet, forgetting weariness and existential dilemmas alike.

"Hey, kid," he says, not unkindly. "What happened? You two alright?"

The young swordsman smiles slightly, blue cloak shifting.

"If you don't pace yourself, you'll collapse before you do any good."
Faruja Senra Unlike most, one Faruja Senra of the Knights Templar is here by choice. Or, rather, by orders. Standing on a lamp post, claws gripping at the light's encasement and tail swaying for balance, the Dragon Knight gets a few odd looks by passers-by who aren't used to his kind's habits. The ratling for the most part ignores them, gazing out into the distant Monstressor Spaceport with a frown.

A sniff, and the unmistakable smell of hume blood hits the Burmecian's sensitive nose. Pushing back the hood of his robes, the Holy Knight's gaze settles upon the source of the smell; a boy and a girl human. Single red eye growing wide, a simple flex of powerful legs has him in the air and sailing over the astonished heads of his onlookers.

Claws meet ground a few feet in front of Reize and the unconscious girl he's carrying, even as the Templar speaks up.

"Ser! What ill has befallen you and the girl? Does she yet cling to this mortal coil,or has she gone to the Almighty?"

A glance to Ivo, the Burmecian nodding to the fellow well-wisher.

"I am a healer. Please, set down the girl, brave Ser."

Not waiting for Reize in the matter, he concentrates, muttering a prayer. A powerful Curaga would flash across both Reize and Lily.
Raiya Fujihara This sure has been one heck of a hangover. Raiya Fujihara could have sworn she did drink -that- much the previous night. And yet in the haze that followed she stumbled through a portal and passed out only to wake up in a land...world...maybe even universe that is completely foreign to her.

With a groan, the kimono clad woman roused herself and headed for the first sign of civilation, Traverse Town. Wearing her circular straw hat low over her eyes, she lesiurely wanders her way into the town proper. And then she sees someting that catches her eye. Her hat is pushed up slightly to see if she was seeing things correctly for once. Yup, that sure is a wounded kid dragging another kid along. Pushing her hat back down, Raiya decides to investigate this matter closer.

It looks like she was not the only person to decide to do this as three other armed individuals have also gathered near. They each get a cautious look from the samurai as if she was trying to judge if any of them culd be a potential threat. This strange Holy Knight doesn't seem so bad, and neither does the young knight-errant. But that six foot, pistol wearing guy might be trouble. "Listen to the healer, young one. It seems your luck has finally took a turn for the better." She instructs the injured youth in an even, calm tone.
Lily Amazingly, for someone unconscious, this girl Reize bears doesn't seem too wounded. The single piece white dress-robe she wears that covers her quite modestly from neck to ankles is smudged with dirt, she shows a variety of bruises and scratches, but not much beyond that.

A faint groan in a voice clear as bells escapes her lips at the touch of magic though, and those wounds begin to vanish, wiped away in the mystical light as if nothing. "Nnn..... mmmmm...h?" Slowly her eyes, blue and clear as gemstones, flutter open, fingers twitch and weight shifts a little.

Still, she's making no other motions besides to turn her head and look about from Reize's back. And in the last lights of the Curaga, a light all its own shimmers from within the hair over her forehead...

But for now she's just looking at the source of the spell a bit dumbly, saying nothing and...

In fact, her head starts eeeeedging shyly off to the side until it's quite behind the nearest sight-blocking obstacle.

Reize's skull.
Reize Seatlan The Boy with the Long Yellow Scarf had kept his pace. He kept moving to find some place to rest. Perhaps he can find some place to set the girl so that she can rest. Yeah, that is something that would be nice. He could set her down to a near medical facility and they can get her treated.
He'll have to continue.

The voice of a knightly man earns a glance from the boy. He gives the young swordsman a tired smile, rising is hand up with a thumb lifted up. "Hee, just a bit worn..." And beaten.

"Guh...!"

However, the strength that he was able to maintain for a little while seeps away rather quickly. Reize collapses on one knee. He lowers his head, his face is now becoming drenched with sweat. That strength had completely left him. It is through his strong will that he could at least keep the strange girl up.

"...Heh..." When he looks up, the boy's eyes widen when he sees the burmecian. He blinks for a few moments, his eyes widen and his jaw gapes.

"W--whoa...." From a boy who has never seen anything like Faruja, what comes out of his mouth is. "A talking rodent!"

However, when the warmth of the healing overcomes him, he can feel the essence imbue him with a refreshing sensation. His aching body becomes ebbed, he gives a sigh of relief. "Wow....that felt... odd! But good!"

But when the stranger covers herself behind his head, he gives a blink of confusion, "Buh?"
Priel Aylin "Well, this is all certainly new..."

Came the voice of a young female, currently leaning against the wall of a nearby building. A single hand rested against her hip while the other slowly ran through her red hair, which was currently tied up into a ponytail. It had been a strange time for her. In just a short frame of time, she had gone through...quite a bit, only to find herself within this strange new town. Indeed the sight was quite something to behold, but nevertheless, it irritated her not to know about her surroundings.

This called for investigation.

Giving the immediate area a brief once over, she could make out several people. A man with a rather silly looking blue cloak, another man who looked like he just stepped off a pirate's airship, a woman who looked like she had just come from the far ends of Lumina, ...Was that a rat? And then there was that boy in the scarf and the girl with him... "Well now, this is quite interesting..."

She had to know more. And so leaning up off the wall, the girl began to approach the gathering group with a lopsided smile on her face. CLearly she was not all worried about the wellbeing of the girl or the boy...
Zeke Zeke looked at the children's reaction and tilted his head. "Curiouser and Curiouser. True White magic." He then turned to Faruja, "I know not what sort of whitchcraft you pr-" He stopped and frowned at the Knight then sighed theatrically. "Knew I should've laid off the rum before seeing what was on this side of that glowey thing."

He then turned his attention to the others that were starting to show up. Giant Rat. Oriental woman. Others... "Hrm. I take it you lot are in the same boat I am. Mystical thingamajig pops up after all sorts of creepy eldritch nasties start boaring out of the works you come through to see what's going on and here you are. Right?" Definate accent to his voice and as he spoke his hands gestured wildly for emphasis.. Then he turned his attention back to Faruja. "So tell me uh... Hrm... How does one go about addressing a giant rat that apparently knows witchcraft?" He took his cap off and pondered this for a moment or three. "I take it you can make an assesment of the lass's constitution as well as heal what ailed her?"
Ivo Galvan Silently sheathing Hauteclare, Ivo's smile grows more affable as a small crowd begins to gather, drawn by the boy's plight. He surveys the unusual characters who have begun to gather, some of them improbable even from his own diverse world. Without much dismay, he swiftly concludes whatever plane of existence he's on must be radically different from the one from whence he came. His off-hand coming to rest on his hip, brushing his extremely awesome and not at all silly cloak out of the way, a slightly more playful light begins to glimmer in his eyes, now that it's clear no one is seriously injured.

"The afterlife is a lot more intriguing than I imagined it'd be," he remarks good-naturedly to no one in particular, starting to grin a little. "In fact, it's not at all as I anticipated." Raising one eyebrow, he somewhat theatrically places a hand upon his chest. "For example, my heart's still beating..."

Faruja's magic is quite impressive. He's never seen sorcery quite like that. Then again, he's never seen a talking rat before, let alone one quite so well-mannered.

How thrilling.

Regardless, Ivo falls silent as soon as Zeke begins talking, his grin turning lop-sided at the man's more or less accurate account of events. "That sounds familiar, yes," the younger man replies, sounding a little amused. "I don't know one addresses a tailed knight of such remarkable gifts," he says, maybe a little more diplomatically than Zeke, "but you're welcome to address me as Ivo Galvan, Barone--" He pauses in mid-sentence, for the first time looking a little thrown off, but quickly recovers. "--but Ivo's fine," he appends, flashing a smile again.

He glances around, hoping that all the other strangers will introduce themselves too, but he's most concerned with the kids. "What happened to you two, anyway? Did you also... lose your worlds?"
Faruja Senra A crimson eye blinks, Faruja suppressing a relieved smile upon seeing Lily open her eyes and hide behind Reize. "Lord bless, young Lady. You have much to thank Him, and this gallant Knight that has carried you this far." The Templar praises, the appearance of Priel and Raiya earning the two Ladies quick nods of acknowledgement. Otherwise, busy Paladin is busy, muttered prayers focusing another Curaga spell on the far more battered form of Reize.

Wince. That red eye narrows and stares into Reize's own pair, anger flashing over his features. Voice stern, "A /nezumi/, Ser." Sighing, his features soften. Don't be too harsh on the child, rat!

"Knight Templar Faruja Senra of the Holy Church. Pray tell me of you and your friend?" A pause. "You are...unfamiliar with White Mag..."

Zeke speaks up, and the Templar's spell falters briefly. "Holy thy tongue! Trying times these are, indeed, where even the Almighty's light may seem dim! Hume ignorance being what it is, I shall let your words pass about my people once, Ser. But to compare the tender mercies of the Lord's Most Radiant Gift of White Magery to /witch craft/!?"

Closing his eye, slowly, he manages to calm down.

"Healing magic, or White Magic as it is formally known, is the study of mending the body through holy prayer. It is indeed one of the greatest gifts Faram has bestowed upon His children. Address me as Ser Senra, Ser Faruja, or simply Ser Knight as it pleases you. But pray you guard your tongue, anger will but dull my helping of these fine souls."

Outburst done, he turns to the pair, starting to inspect their injuries after his healing unless they object.

Ivo gets a brief smile. "An honor, Ser Galvan."
Raiya Fujihara Raiya places a hand on the back of her neck as people remark about the talking rodent like Burmecian. Years beforehand, she might have acted in the same way as the others. Such creatures are indeed a rarity in Raiya's own world, but having a certain talking feline apart of AVALANCHE has sort of raised Raiya's tolerance for talking demi-humans. Besides, he is a very helpful demi-human...atleast so far.

Lily peeking around from behind Reize causes Raiya to smile at the sight of the pair. At least everything will be alright for them now. That's a relief. She even offers a small wave towards the shy Lily, but it seems she might be too occupied with hiding behind Reize's skull to catch it. Her attention is soon drawn by the pirate who unloads...quite the monologue on what is happening. That is one well-adjusted.....Raiya pauses to take in the ragged appearance and weaponry of the six foot being.....well-adjusted vagabond. This surely can not be a dream for Raiya would never have conjured up such an image, but then perhaps this is an alcohol induced nightmare. The mention of the 'nasties' causes Raiya's demeanor to sour. Wutai's use of Heartless in their war effort is stilla fresh wound. "The question is whose world..or afterife this really is? First, I thought this was simply a nightmare of mine, but that simply can not be." Unless someone had given Raiya some hallucinogen in her drink.

Ivo's polite introduction draws her gaze next, but it is Faruja's outburst and subsequent recovery that receives the most of her attention. My, my. What fire. A smile slowly breaks across the samurai's face as she tilts her straw hat down slightly. "Such illustrious company. This surely cannot be a dream of my own design as I would never have thought up such...colorful...company." Her sort of compliment, sort of insult said, Raiya bows at the hips in simple fashion. "I am Raiya of..." It seems that Ivo is not the only one who has decided to drop superfluous titles. "Nevermind that. Raiya will suffice."

Priel has thus far gone unnoticed. Raiya's current strange companions have somewhat adeptly taken up the samurai's full concentration.
Lily After the girl's hiding place SPEAKS, she seems to shudder on Reize's back... and squirm away, falling to the ground with a WHUMPF and landing clearly on her tush apparently hard enough to elicit a squeaky grunt from her.

She's STILL entirely silent for some reason or another... her eyes are wide with wonder, curiosity... and glimmers of fright as she crawls a bit on the unfamiliar ground and looks about at everyone...

Quite slowly, and with deliberate thoroughness, she looks all around the room and at every living being in turn...lips pressing together in an expression of pure bewilderment the whole while.

Then rapidly her eyes flick about left and right at some of the faces, her shoulders bunch up... and another of those squeaky noises of uncertainty escapes her lips.

Well, she's definitely alright, at least!
Priel Aylin Giving the rather uncouth looking man her attention, Priel tilted her head slightly and shrugged airily. "Oh? Weeeellll is that what they're saying around these parts~?" And of course she provided no clear answer. But then, in this situation it was purely obvious what the answer was.

Hearing the man in the blue cloak speak off-handedly about 'afterlife' brought an amused smirk to her face. "Afterlife? Well, if this is the afterlife, then it certainly is no different from before~" Indeed, one could say that this was hell on earth all over again. In fact, perhaps worse, being thrust into unknown surroundings...

But alas, she was quite fine with just standing back and listening. After all, if people payed little attention to you, then certainly they wouldn't mind if the words coming from their lips were heard either~

...Strange logic, to be sure.
Mica Melchiott All around, Traverse Town... Darkens. It is not some fancy metaphorical darkness, but really...

Shapes appear under objects, and on the outskirts of rooftops. Has a terrible witching hour started? Is it a great time of reckoning?

Nope!

A drumroll rolls down from the rooftop, as two bright spotlights seem to lance out from the growing darkness, the lights aimless, tracking nothing in particular, and generally seem to focus on people for short periods of time, before both beams snap to... A pair of satin curtains. The drumroll intensifies, as beady yellow eyes start to peek from around the curtains, and from the cracks.

The drumroll stops. The curtains are pulled taut to the air, revealing...

A Heartless with a little top-hat and a bow tie, holding a deck of cards that flutters up into the air, before falling down.

There is a total silence, and then the sound of one person clapping.

What... The heck?
Reize Seatlan Wince. Reize's antenna hair lowers, almost shrinking as Reize slowly shrinks. "Err... sorry." He pauses, then he squints at Faruja, "What's a nezumi?"

When Zeke arrives and questions them regarding the girl's condition, Reize looks the stranger over. The boy offers a faint smile at the group, "I ran into a large monster on the way when I woke up in a forest."

With folks introducing themselves, "I'm Reize Seatlan." His eyes drift towards the confused and frightend girl, "Uhh... I am not sure of her name."

Then, the boy pauses, listening to the man's statement, "Uhh... losing worlds?" He lifts his hand up, moving it to the back of his head with a confused look. "I don't know, to be honest." His eyes start to cast low, looking rather troubled.

"One moment, I was playing hookey from doing the chores. I relaxed at my raft that I spent weeks building, only to drift asleep. When I woke up..." The boy's hands lifted up, "The river became a strong tide that..." He pulls his hand along the side, "PULLED me along the depths." The boy exhales, "As the tide----"

His words were interrupted when the templar started going off at the other stranger. He winced once more, looking uneasy around the new strangers around. The guy is pretty easy to rile up. Placing his hand over to his forehead, the boy frowns.

"Mada mada... Oi oi, no need for that!" The boy's demeanor becomes stern as his antenna hair points at Faruja and Zeke admonishingly. His attention is given towards Lily, who falls off of his back and onto the ground.

He offers a hand her way, "Hey, here..." He extends the hand her way.

The boy frowns, "...When the tide pulled me in, I thought I was a goner. But instead, I woke up in some strange place." He rubs the back of his head, "...It was a place where I saw stars, and..." The words of the eldritch nasties start to recollect memories for him. "...A voice told me follow it... I could see----"

His words became interrupted as his pendant reacts with a rapid bright glow, "..wh---what?!"

Darkness crept over the area.

His pendant's light is As a drumroll vibrated from the roof top, he looked up at the rooftop to see the spotlights lances to nothing. It movd around from the people and then to the curtains.

And a Heartless manifests.

From his hands, he pulls out a pair of boomerangs.

"Ngghh.... It's one of those that I saw when I was in that strange place!"
Zeke Darkness Fell.

"Captain Ezekiel Fawkes of the HMS Reliant at your service..." His words trailed as the world seemed to dim a little. When the lights and curtains drew he moved to stand between the children and the spectical.

Then the Heartless in rediculous stage attire. "Whatever fresh madness this is I'm not standing for any of it." He pulled a pistol from his coat and took careful aim before firing.

Now then Zeke is a fair shot with a pistol, but flintlocks aren't known for their accuracy at range. Still, even without an actual hit there'd be a loud bang, flash, lots of smoke, and Zeke letting the pistol drop away, depending on the line looped through the trigger guard to keep from losing it, only to draw another. "These're the biters that sunk my friend's ship. They're not taking me without a fight!"
Ivo Galvan Well, this all seems to be going rather well.

Ivo is still smiling in his genial, vaguely amused way as he regards the motley crew that has assembled in the plaza thus far. Unlike Reize, he doesn't seem particularly preturbed at how incensed Faruja seems to get, though he does notice that girl with the crystal embedded in her forehead doesn't seem too happy about the tension. The ratman doesn't fully lose his composure, though, and when he turns to offer the knight-errant a far more pleasant acknowledgment, Ivo just grins back. "Likewise, Ser Senra." The woman in the straw hat and unusual robes also seems to have a good attitude toward all this, and he glances at her sidelong. She seems to have taken his cue on the surname-dropping, too. Interesting lady. He inclines his head toward her, politely.

A voice he doesn't recognize pipes up behind him, and he turns, totally rad cloak swirling, to see a rather mischevious-looking -- maybe it's just those elongated incisors -- redhead taking all this in with a look of amusement he recognizes. "If this is no different to you," Ivo gamely says to Priel, "you must come from a fairly fascinating place."

The younger girl doesn't seem like she's going to be too forthcoming about her name, so Ivo decides to keep his distance for now; she seems to trust Reize more than anyone. Apparently, though, the boy doesn't know much about her either. The knight-errant crosses his arms and listens contemplatively to the boy's story. "That's a little more involved than what I remember," he murmurs. "A voice spoke to you? I didn't hear any voices--"

But he does hear applause. And, promptly, a gunshot.

"Now that's just preposterous," he remarks, eyeing the curtain which appears to have manifested from basically nothing. He casts another glance at Priel, arching a brow. "This common in your hometown, too?" But the jokes end when Zeke opens fire, his head snapping back to see the Heartless at which the good Captain is aiming. "As well they shouldn't!" Ivo replies, drawing his sword as shadows with wriggling antennas begin to emerge from corners and crevasses. "I don't know who's clapping..."

Stepping away from the crowd of new companions to help form a defensive line, he adopts a poised stance, buckler over his face, sword arm forward, smiling slightly, but eyes dead serious.

"...but I'll give you a show!"
Lily "Na....me... Name?" The Girl in White's been just turning her attention from one speaker to the next bewilderedly. It's a very odd look in her eyes indeed, if anyone's looking carefully. "Name..." Well, either way, just speaking's not coming out too easily. She puts a hand up to her own lips just an instant after finishing the word, though it drifts down to play along her throat.

After staring at the hand for a good several seconds, she does reach out to grasp it though, and rises up to her feet unsteadily. "... a name... uhhh..." While her lips press into a frown, the rest of the girl's face contorts with confusion. "I remember... falling...? Darkness and... and... things trying to tear me apart... it hurt! ... then lots of light and green then... then more pain..." She shudders right then and there where she stands.

"Then being here... and..." But before she can say wahtever it is she was going to say.

Traverse Town grows dark.

Grues might be lurking about now!

But the little girl, who seems barely into puberty by most standards, whirls about at that darkness and immediately backpedals, letting go of Reize and taking one step-- two steps-- three steps--

"...Ah!"

... and then tripping over her own feet to land with a whimper on her back near Ivo.

Of course, she gets back to her feet in a hurry, then gestures at the distant Heartless with LOATHING in her eyes. "Those things!!"

.... well, at least she might make more sense once introductions have been done later!
Faruja Senra Lily's antics do much to calm down the fiery Templar. Faruja offers a smile to her while trying to not show too many sharp-pointies in his maw. "She's alright." The Burmecian pronounces to no one of the group in particular.

Sigh. The Templar peers at Reize quietly for a moment. "We are, quite simply, nezumi. We are swifter, more agile, than humes. Greater sense of smell and hearing, though not as hardy as your kind. We live in the two cities of Burmecia and Cleyra; one a place of eternal rain, the other, sand. We are creatures of war and art both." The ratling explains. Reize's explanation certainly gets the Templar's attention, as does the glowing pendant. There's little time for him to comment on it, as suddenly...

A show! The area covered in Darkness, followed by stage lights marking a path to the tiny Heartless has the Templar squeak-growling. The sound of metal on metal can be heard as he grips his spear with both hands, and steps up beside Ivo to assist in protecting the girl as well as Reize.

"Ser Seatlan? Stay at the young Lady's side, please. The shadows are deep, but I smell many of the abominations hiding."

A glance to Zeke. "Demons, Ser Fawkes! Ones most black hearted indeed! Hold tight to your immortal souls, Sers and Ladies, and let the Almighty be your shield! If you've blade or spell, show no quarter, for these unholy abominations will do you no mercies!"

Light flares first around the tip of Faruja's spear as he concentrates, before consuming the entire thing. Thrusting the weapon towards the stage-dwelling Heartless, he incants: "Life is short! Bury, Stasis Spear!" From beneath the little Heartless' feet, a spike of holy-infused ice will erupt from the ground and seek to bisect the cute little top-hatted creature.
Raiya Fujihara Out of the corner of her eye, Raiya notices something amiss. A dark creeping sensation pokes at the back of her head, but she does not receive any sort of justification for this until her very surroundings start to darken and a drum roll starts beating. Is this the moment when the dream turns into a nightmare? But why is Raiya feeling so lucid if this is naught but a dream?

These philosophical considerations asides, Raiya plants herself firmly on the ground and places her left hand on the hilt of her sword. It is drawn out only a few inches from its sheath as she narrows her eyes on the perhaps source of this darkness, the 'stage show'. Tch. A lone heartless. This is not a good sign, not a good one at all.

Lily's current...well...weakened and somewhat clumsy state is not one that is very well-suited for whatever is about to happen next. This causes Raiya to move protectively near the young girl and next to brave Ser Ivo. She now turns slightly to address Reize. "Young warrior, I shall assist you and not let any harm come to your young friend. " With her hand still on the hilt of her sword, Raiya looks ready to make good on that promise.

When the pirate also recognizes the Heartless for what it is and takes appropiate action, Raiya smiles darkly to herself. An unusual ally to gain, but a thankful one to have regardless. And it seems that the knight-errant is not far behind in announcing his opposition to whatever force is mustering. And now the healer has joined the fray as well! It seems that the odds may actually be in this motley crew's favor. However, Raiya knows to be on her guard and that Lily and Reize both might still be quite vulnerable at this point. Should any creature approach, they would find themselves at odds with Raiya's blade soon enough.
Jack Skellington Such a strange place. Such a wonderful place. The feeling in his bones, exquisite. Something he hadn't felt in ages, decades!

The darkness covers the area, shades and shadows swallowing the landscape as if the moon itself had been devoured, engulfed by the sky, soon to take the entire world itself. But the darkness is a wonderful thing. A horrible thing. As the darkness blinds those gathered in the district, a veil of night draped over their eyes, a being without them moves soundlessly.

A short burst from the top of the opposing roofs from the Heartless' appearance, thin limbs grasping the wooden frame as it moves to the ground in a quick and flowing motion, bringing his massive, and yet thin form behind the group stands tall, slowly and steadily, behind a specific member of the group.

Lily would feel something, particularly, is wrong. A slight chill behind her particularly. For a moment, the figure watches the heartless in awe. How they conjure up such sights out of nowhere! How they are capable of such grandiose acts of showmanship! He would most certainly have to use them in the upcoming celebration! To see one of the new members of Halloweentown already out and causing such a sight!

Another sound rings in the air. Another set of hands join in, clapping. It sounds off. The usual skin between hands apparently missing, giving a more dull thud of a clap.

"HEE hee hee hee!"

Almost sinister laughter, demonlike, as these boney hands clasp about Lily's shoulders, the form of Jack's skeletal grin suddenly filling Lily's vision. A very off grin to those who are not of Halloween town, "Isn't it wonderful? They have so much potential!"

To others, there's a rather tall, slim, skeleton leaning over Lily, the black and white nature of the skeleton clashing wonderfully with her pure white robes and innocent feature.

"Just imagine what else they could do!" The words might be a little too menacing, considering the situation.
Priel Aylin "...Hah?" Came the sound of Priel's voice, confused at what had just taken place. Sudden darkness descending never spoke well of things to come. Especially not in her recent experiences anyhow. "I don't suppose any of you had a hand in this rather shoddy magic trick, hmm?" Silly question of course. She doubted any of them had a hand in the current proceedings.

It was then that the Heartless appeared. A rather humorous looking thing actually. In fact, Priel was so amused by the thing's little act that she couldn't help but giggle. "Ehehehe~" And then that giggle escalated to laughter. "...Ahahahaha! Oh wow! Seriously? And just what is this supposed to be!?" It was safe to say that no, she was no feeling particularly threatened right now. Go figure. Hearing Zeke's shot brought her back to reality enough to dial down her laughter at this point, wiping a tear from her eye as she answered Ivo. "Oh I don't know. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't~"

The sound of clapping, not from any of them however, drew her attention and she took a step aside aside to have a cursory glance about the area above. To no avail of course. Whoever was out there obviously did not want to be found and probably wouldn't be found unless they revealed themselves.

"Really though, so much trouble..." The redhead sighed in a mocking, yet dramatic tone while shrugging her shoulders nonchalantly once again. There were no visible weapons on her form. She wore a red, black, and tanned fur ensemble and a moderately sized pack was strapped behind her waist, yet it was too small to hold a viable weapon of any sort. Indeed, not a single weapon to be found. And yet, Priel looked no worse off than before for it. "...Quite a lively world I seem to have wound up in, no? I awaken not too long ago and already, I find my life so viciously threatened!"

Crossing her arms in a manner that one supposed would suggest that she was ready to defend herself...or not, she then uttered one last statement towards Reize in particular. "This is going to cost you a pretty penny~" Of course. It was all about money. But of course, in the process of looking over, she got full sight of a certain undead creeper currently doing his best to scare the daylights out of Lily. "...Oh my, and what is this now~?"

...Nope. Still not worried for their well-being.
Mica Melchiott Let's break down what happened, shall we?

Reize's DANGERPAGER went off, telling the ACTION HERO LAD that he must TAKE TO THE FORE and DEFEND THE WORLD FROM EVIL.

And what a wicked evil there is, afore the Necklaced Youth! FOUL CARD TRICKS! And BAD SHOWMANSHIP! Really, the tricks are terrible all around.

Then, a SCARILY ARMED SER appears to take OFFENSE, and THUSLY OBJECT in a PROJECTILE MANNER. The tophatted hearless falls over, oodzing into the ground as the cards flutter all around him. The spotlights fixate themselves on Zeke for a few moments, as confetti and a tinny cheering sound blares and flutters all around the pistolero.

The heartless swarm then, but they all bear top-hats, and they all seem to have better things to do then to ATTACK the gathered heroes.

As Ivo claims that he'll offer them a show, one heartless rushes him with a walking cane, tapdancing on up to him... While a second knocks off his hat from behind before scattering. They could easily be slain for this INCREDIBLE INSULT, however.

Lily's reaction gets a smaller heartless with a tophat and a bowtie... To meander up and offer her a flower.

The flower would sqirt her in the face of taken. Bwa ha ha, EVIL!

Faruja's Holy Blade Techniques THUSLY DOTH SLAYS MANY A HEARTLESS! They explode in black clouds of confetti, but there sure are a bunch of them.

Raiya is assaulted by a trio of heartless who run up... And blow party-noisemakers at him. One has a handful of party poppers, which it uses to shower Raiya with ANNOYING BITS OF PAPER and LOUD NOISES!

Jack and Priel? Why, a pair of Heatless Butlers bearing silver trays and drink glasses appear, offering the observers some refreshments.
Zeke Zeke looked about at the Confetti, spotlights. His eyes were wide and he couldn't make up his mind on if he had gone insane, or if this was all some mad trick going on.

Then Jack spoke in delight at these creatures. Zeke's breathing was raggid, fear and confusion were motivating him when he saw the Skeleton Man. "You. Zombie Fellow. Be you the commander of these creatures?" Without giving Jack a chance to reply he reached into his coat and flung a handfull of salt at the Pumpkin King. "Away with you voodoo creature! Bad enough to go after honest tradesmen like mysef, but to go after children. That's a low I wager even Cutler wouldn't sink to."
Reize Seatlan The boy's eyes turn to face the kimono-wearing woman, who moves towards Lily. There is a smile growing her way, offering her a nod. "Thanks..." Then, his eyes drift towards Faruja, who tells him to be prepared to guard the girl.

"Yeah. I'm ready." His grip to the boomerangs tighten and then he looks at the Heartless at the 'stage'.

However, it proves to be a folly when the potential threat is someone from /behind/ the girl. It is difficult to notice a creepy presence like that until a voice speaks from behind.

"Buh...?"

Turning around, his eyes widen when the freakishly tall skeleton looms above them. His ahoge flips up and he yelps in surprise, "Gah!" As he shifts his stance, he pulls his other arm over to sweep Lily over to remain behind him while looking up at the skeleton.

Sweat surrounds him. He is still a bit fatigued, but... something in his heart is moved to protect the girl.

Only for one of the smaller heartless to offer a flower... which would likely squirt her way.

As the voices laugh hysterically, Reize turns to the creature and he grunts, "Hey!" He runs over towards the heartles, "That was mean!" He winds his foot back and swings his foot out to punt the critter.

Right in the butt.
Lily And the girl who has yet to be named Lily is indeed frightened. She's no more than gotten her footing than...

HORRIBLE THINGS LOOM ABOUT, and grab her shoulders.

Without turning around to see what it is though, she just shudders, and tenses...

... and meets the bony face that whips in from nowhere with the MOST BIZARRE, UTTERLY TERRIFIED GRIN the world has ever seen. Teeth clenched, lips peeled, eyes wide!

The first noise she makes is a hiccup.

One lonely, detached hiccup.

This is followed by stammering. Then, finally...

"HYAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!" Winds rush up, wrenching her from Jack's grasp and throwing her clearly forwards... where she goes skidding... tumbling... and ends up right before the festive Heartless in the top hat. She marvels at the flower, the terror vanishing immediately... but then....

*SPLASH*

"Kyeekgh!" It was mean. it was very mean.

Still, now she's soggy. And it's cold. New feeling! She immediately sets to rubbing at her face before nodding - clearly to herself - and scurrying behind Reize and Raiya.

"I'm... alright... what's happening... where... why...?"

Jack would find himself subjected to the most INTENSE stare now that the girl has some distance between him and her... it's almost frightful in its own way.

Like lasers.
Ivo Galvan Ivo glances down in concern as the nameless Girl in White collapses near him, struggling back to her feet. She seemed quite overwhelmed at first, of course, and there's a chance that the rising darkness has caused her to panic. Yet when he sees the determination in her eyes, the young knight smiles silently. She may just be a girl, but-- she's got what it takes.

Right now, that's all that counts.

Soon, the heroes assemble, the rodent paladin and the mysterious swordswoman assuming defensive positions to protect the two children. Ivo nods toward the both of them. They're probably worth more than he is in a situation like this, frankly. The Galvan Sword Dance has its uses, but he's a little unsure whether revealing its true potential is wise amidst such a fray--

"Gaaaahhh!"

The blue-cloaked swordsman obliges Skellington by crying out in dismay and stumbling back, his eyes widening. "Curses..." How did he not see this coming!? Of course it was a distraction, so that the true enemy could sneak up on them. Instinctively, he brandishes Hauteclare-- and then falters slightly. No, this doesn't feel right. The skeleton-man looks outrageous, but then, so do many of them. And his posture isn't threatening at all. "Ah... say..." he manages, managing a nervous smile. "You wouldn't happen to be... with us? Or at least," he appends to Jack, "not against us...?"

Frankly, he's more likely to be with them than this redhead. "Aren't you a coy one," he mutters at the seemingly untroubled (and unarmed) young woman. "You still haven't told us your name." He's about to whirl toward the Heartless approaching him, until he sees Lily fall in front of one. "Oh, no--"

And then it squirts her with water.

"..."

And then the ones approaching him-- engage in antics?

"...or maybe," he says wryly, "a show is just what our nemesis wants?"

The hysterical laughter seems to be a clue. Slowly, Ivo lowers his sword.
Faruja Senra The Templar will have to give kudos to Reize for doing just as asked. For the moment, the ratling is showered in confetti thanks to one very dead group of heartless, blown from his hear as Jack draws his attention.

"Unhand the girl, foul wraith!" Comes Faruja's simple demand upon hearing, then seeing the skeleton gripping her shoulders. Agile legs taking him about six feet into the air, he grips his weapon overhand, putting weight and all of his strength into the now-plunging Holy-infused spear. And aimed right at poor Jack's noggin! Tolerance of the undead isn't something Templar are known for. As for the salt? One Ser Rat is in the air as it flies at Jack.

But at least he has a HORRIBLE DEMON HEARTLESS count on the rise. A quick prayer, and a circle of light flares beside the Burmecian. When it fades away, the long scaley length of a white wyern coils, at least twelve feet long peers about at the darkness and odd creatures about before turning to the Templar. Hisses exchange between rat and scaled beast, before the great wyvern lashes out at the nearest Heartless Butler with snapping jaws. Should she connect, she'll attempt to devour the creature, tray and all. After that? The wyvern tries to shore up any holes in their defensive ring about the kids with her long body, as well as copious amounts of claws and teeth.
Raiya Fujihara The sudden appearance of Skellington and Lily's belated scream causes Raiya to turn quickly to see what exactly is going on. And then when she actually -sees- what is going on, it takes a moment for her to process that this skeleton man is talking and being rather cordial towards them....if not a little creepy with his grabby skeleton hands. Thankfully, Lily is able to free herself from this creature's grasp.

The Skeleton man would be confronted if it wasn't for the trio of advancing Heartless and that the rest of the BIG DARN HEROES crew has this matter handled with what some call parlay....and also summoned dragon/wyverns. Focused now on these three Heartless as they approach her, Raiya slowly draws her sword fully out from its sheath and brings it behind her before tipping it down towards the ground. In this stance, the samurai is fully ready for combat, but she is not ready at all to be assaulted with noisemakers and confetti. Normally, such harmless behavior would evoke sympathy in the woman from a would-be foe. But, Raiya knows what the heartless truely are and what they are attempting to do to her the planet's lifestream in her world. On top of all of this, she still carries an unhealthy vendetta involving Wutai over their use of Heartless to fight in their wars.

There will be no quarter given for cheeky shenanigans this day.

The samurai dashes forward and attempts to slay the trio of party-going Heartless in a few, surgically placed slashes. Say what you what about Raiya, but you can not deny that she is quite quick with that sword of hers.
Jack Skellington Hmm? Jack's noticed beyond just Lily, raising his head ever so slightly, so the water gets sprayed in her face. But before he can say a word, a butler, Heartless, offers him a refreshment.

"Now, where did you find this?" Jack asks of the Heartless, admiring the liquid - it's not cloudy, bright green or even bubbling! Why, it's particularly alien to him. A single boney hand slides from Lily's shoulder, but only one, as he lifts it up. His gaze shifting, his attention following it.

Only to have Lily pulled from his grasp, the skeleton turning his attention to Reize, eyeless sockets gazing at him. A gleeful, feral grin. "Why hello there, little boy -" His words begin. But his attention is suddenly wrenched away again, Zeke throwing something at the Pumpkin King, the skeleton leaping backwards, with such grace and such height that he lands on a signpost in the District, currently pointing the way to escape such darkness.

"Perhaps, if I could get them to listen." Jack responds to such a heated comment, certainly not helping his case, without any real venom or flat out denial. "The fear and mischief they create is incredible! It would be perfect!" Whatever was thrown at him he doesn't seem to mind, letting it slip. Unlike the glass in his hand, still clasped.

The intense stare from the less fearful Lily is one that gets a skeletal smile, Jack pleased from the results. "Oh, and Lily, was it? That scream was stupendous! If that's all it takes to scare you and your I'm sure we'll get along just perfectly!" But he's spoken to, Jack standing tall, instead of spider-like and bow-legged on the sign. "Why, against you? Certainly not!" He exclaims, raising the glass upwards.

At which point he makes a good target for the holy spear, standing still. Or at least mostly. "Now now, your words are quite flattering!" Jack exclaims to the plunging, possible double death headed towards him. He bows. It's a very deep bow. The only thing that prevents him from meeting a holy spear to the forehead and pre-emptively ending his title as the Pumpkin King. It's far, far too close. But for how tall he is, he is quite the fast mover. "But I believe I never introduced myself, either. I'm Jack Skellington! And for you to give me such a terrible welcome... I do so appreciate it."
Jack Skellington Jack Skellingtondid not really know Lily's name, so instead had clearly just referred to her as girl.
Priel Aylin "Ahahahahaha! Oh this is far too much entertainment~!"

Seeing all of this action, rather than join in on the heartless beating session, she simply...relaxed her guard, and watched as the others did their best to overwhelm these creatures of darkness with their barbaric weapons of mass pain infliction. Priel though? She wasn't about to waste her energy fighting these things. Why, they hardly looked like they were even here to fight. Rather, it looked far more like they were just having the time of their lives messing with these dopes! And it was then that one of them, curiously dressed as a butler came up to her, offering a drink.

"Oh? For me? Why thank you~" Taking the glass with a gracious smile. Hearing the knight-errant's question, she glanced over his way, tilting her head slightly in mock innocence? "Coy? Why, whatever could you possibly be talking about? Hmm~?" Smiling another lop-sided, mocking smile, the redhead simply, and casually took a couple large steps back as a rather large white wyvern, that was apparently just summoned, attempts to sweep her heartless butler away. "Hmn, well how about that?" Commenting off-handedly to no one in particlar, Priel swishes the liquid in the glass about for a bit, before taking a sip, watching as the holy rat; as the vanguard so deftly titled him, sailed down from the sky, weapon pointed straight for the poor, too tall, skeleton man.

...And the holy rat misses gloriously as the man known now as Jack Skellington simply bowed. "Ehehehe~ Oh dear...." He was an amusing one. Definitely the most entertaining out of this entire bunch of would be heroes. Though they all struck her as being quite entertaining, depending on the buttons pushed...

...And no. It would seem that she still wasn't going to help them after all.

Of course.
Mica Melchiott Faruja's great big DRAGON!!! shows up, scattering the heartless, and the darkness, with HOOOOLY LIIIIGHT!

Also, both of the ButlerHeartless seem to toddle off into the darkness, and a fair number of the not-slain Heartless follow suit, slinking off and shying back into the shadows. The drawn curtain still hangs, but Faruja's MIGHTY HOLYNESS seems to call a rather slow end to the antics-based nature of the 'rampaging' Heartless, a few drawing back to the curtains, split off from the rest of the group.

One butler is certainly not lucky, being gobbled up and destroyed.

Many other are scattered by the lines and powers of the heroes.

And then... The curtains close.

The heartless resolutely manning the two spotlights re-aim at the curtains, as the drumroll rat-a-tats loudly, and a blast of confetti showers down along the area like a paper snow.

The curtains open. And in the center of the spotlight is a feminine figure, shrouded entirely in shadow. She appears to be wearing some sort of cloak, with little golden bells sewn into the jagged tips of it. Her face is utterly shrouded, and a dozen heartless run over to her. Two bear a long, straight cane with a cube-shaped head, and the shadowy figure plucks a top hat from another, snapping it with a practiced flick of the wrist as it enlarges for 'her' head, placing the hat upon her head and twirling the cane she retrieves before leaning against it.

"Tada!" She crows, gleefully, as the heartless... Disappear, crawling into holes, and running off beind the curtains.

From a pocket, she draws a single, golden card, and flicks it into the square, before doffing her hat and stepping behind the curtain herself.

The darkness lifts. The spotlights tumble from their rooftop perches.

The curtains fall in a heap, the magic holding them up leaving them suddenly.

The laughing goes on for a few moments still.
Mica Melchiott The card reads, a strange gold-etched card, with sunken silver-bossed letters... 0Come one, come all, to the Casino Gold!

There is no address. The card appears to be a wafer of solid gold boullion, though. You know, there's that.
Reize Seatlan With the Heartless aside, the boy is turning to meet back towards the skeleton who had gazed at him with those socketless eyes. It is rather frightening that a large skeleton had been in front of them. His body shudders, looking back at the undead. The tall, lanky, and dapper skeleton is earning his complete attention.

"So you try to make people scream...?" He keeps his guard of Lily, holding her close to him. There is that paternal, protective big brother instinct in him. His eyes shift to the nezumi and the wyvern diving at an impressive display. However, Jack is even more impressive with his speed.

His eyes widen, awed at his agility. Yet, when he introduces himself, Reize quirks an eyebrow, "...Jack Skellington." Committing the name to memory, he considers, "Reize Seatlan..."

However, the boy finds his way to see the spotliht being set toards the curtains once more. And when they open, they reveal the person. Its a strange shrouded feminine figure. Yet, she gives her crow while the heartless disappear.

"Wh--what..?!"

And when she steps into the curtain, Reize runs off and shouts, "Hey! Wait!" And wen he charges forward, the darkness lifts.

While the laughing goes on and the darkness subsides, Reize finds the card coming his way. Catching the card, the boy peers at it.

"....'Come one, come all, to the Casino Gold'..." As the reading tone fades, he asks, "..Casino G---nngg..." Despite the earlier healing Faruja, he is still a bit beaten by his earlier battle. The body hasn't had time to rest up, after all.
Ivo Galvan Looks like the Galvan Sword Dance was unnecessary in any case.

At this point, the nezumi lancer summoning a dragon of some sort is just about par for the course. His blade already lowered, Ivo just watches in bemusement, his gaze drifting over to Raiya's impressive swordplay. Maybe he should ask her for a lesson or two. His fighting style has its own -- ahem -- peculiarities, of course, but when it comes to close-range combat, he's only good enough to tell that he's not as good as her. To say nothing of the Skeleton Man's acrobatics, for whom can compare to those? At least he's not hostile.

Ivo glances sidelong toward Priel, finding himself standing next to her now. She seemed to be able to tell all along they were in no real danger -- or just didn't care. He reflects for a moment, eyeing the dragon-girl thoughtfully, before concluding that the answer is probably... both. "So," he says calmly, as though they hadn't just been in the midst of a melee, gesturing toward the glass in her hand left by the butler Heartless. "How's it taste?"

But as Reize takes up the Casino Gold card only to slump over, Ivo smoothly transitions from playful to all business. "Kid-- er, Reize!" No need to be patronizing now that you know his name. The knight-errant lunges forward, just to ensure none of the shadows seize the advantage, but without their leader the Heartless seem to be scurrying away. "You alright? Take a deep breath. The fight's over." He flashes a smile down at the boy before surveying the area quickly.

"Heh... you did good."

These two kids have guts-- whoever they are.
Zeke Zeke says, "A spook that lives, for lack of better word, to cause a fright and contrary to events is not in command of these shadow beasts." Zeke looked into Jack's Socketless eyes. "You know you'r a right bit early for All Souls Day. Come back in about a month an' you'd fit right in with half the crazy I've seen on the seas." He laughed bitterly, "But unlike those... creatures I haven't seen anything more than a little scare and some fancy legs." He aimed his pistol at the Pumpkin King. "Now answer me true. What is your business here in the land of the living?"""
Lily Around her there's the slaying of Heartless, the setting of stages, the throwing of cards and weird, WEIRD laughter. But the girl who should eventually come to be called Lily seems apart from all this, staying back behind Reize and the protection of others.

The glare she's giving Jack Skellington only intensifies at the comment, but it's followed by something that probably doesn't look so threatening at all.

Her cheeks puff up completely, and... through intent, or just unfamiliarity with speaking, she blows it all out in this enormous raspberry-like noise. THBBBBBBBBBBBBBT.

But a moment later her delicate fingers raise up to rub at those lips that now tingle. "He's--" She waves an arm at Jack Skellington uncertainly, her words themselves don't even sound very uncertain. "Not like the... those things... not the same!" As i proud of this realization, the girl smiles, glances over at Ivo... then Priel... then finally Reize. "Name.. name... I don't... know anything about that..."
Faruja Senra "Temple Knight Faruja Senra of Burmecia, of the Most Holy Church of Saint Ajora Glabados, at your service, Ser Skellington! Early speech has not eluded you, it seems. What unquiets you, spirit?" The rat fires back, spear and body both whistling over the bowing lanky form of the Pumpkin King. Never facing away from Jack, he leaps backwards, soon to rejoin the impromptu defensive line. "Now declare yourself! Enemy or ally, Ser? Be you clean in soul, then may the Lord grant you speed upon your earthly mission! But be you tainted, then face His Divine Wrath!"

Priel doesn't escape Faruja's notice. A one-eyed glare is sent her way. "You! Do not stand about and gawk! Join us, or seek shelter! Your soul is in peril here, M'Lady!"

As Heartless slink back from the divine light, and his companion is gobbled up quite nicely, the ratling chastises his companion. "Claw them, shred them as you will, M'Lady, but DO NOT EAT THEM!" A pause. "Manners, Arista, manners."

The Burmecian isn't at /all/ impressed by the show, the stranger bowing avoiding any further displays of righteous anger as the magic keeping the Heartless and stage there dissipates. Nothing but a card left. A glance to his wyvern friend, and she turns her attention to Jack, giving a none-too-subtle hiss his way. Any menace given by the gesture might be lessened as she coughs, haucking up the bent and teeth-marked platter the heartless had; now covered in dragon-spit. Ewww.

"That seems to be all of them. Are any of you injured?" Even as he asks the group, the Paladin Rat is making his way to Reize, kneeling at the boy's side. He lets Ivo do the talking, for the moment, and begins to tend to the group as they need; potions and magical cures easing fatigue and pain alike.
Priel Aylin "It tastes.....rather nice I would say~"

Replying to the man in the blue cloak, she continued watching the heartless' performance, idly standing by and sipping her drink slowly. She paid no mind to the Holy Rat's orders, considering that she had deemed herself as having nothing to do with this. It was silly looking still, no matter how long she watched, that did not change any. A faint giggle escaped from the redhead's lips as the mysterious cloaked girl revealed herself with great flourish, bringing an end to the performance.

"...Hm?" Spying the thrown card caught by Reize, Priel's TREASURE SENSE tingled...no, more like BLARED LOUDLY. With eyes lit up in obvious ill intent, the girl's hand began to twitch. It was too much. A valuable metal appeared before her eyes? She HAD to have it!

And with that, she began to stride over. "Heeeeeeeeeey~ you don't have any further need for that card, do you, kid~?" She asked the boy, blinking rapidly in mock innocence before swiping the card. "Why don't you let me have it instead, hmm~?" She asked that, but she took it, now turning it over in her hand as she studied it. Oh it was real alright.

Perfect~

And with that, the redhead looked over the rest of the group, waving the card about cutely. "And the end of you don't mind either, right? Of course you don't~!"
Raiya Fujihara Raiya's swordplay takes care of the three heartless before her in short order. Now free to view the entire area at large now that she is no longer accosted by confetti, it seems to Raiya that everyone has had their fair share of baldurdash to deal with. Without further adieu, the samurai sheathes her sword once more and tips her hat a little lower as she goes to rejoin her varied group of comrades at arms.....and Jack and Priel.

Her attention first goes to the two youngest of the group. "Are you two okay?" She asks succinctly of the pair in an earnest voice. Raiya now looks to the conversation surrounding the appearance of the dapper skeleton-man. The swordswoman taps the side of her chin as she tries to internally decide what exactly Jack is. The result is the she is quite clueless.

Even though she did not witness Ivo's swordplay, it is his compassion for the well-being of Lily and Reize that gets her attention. She sends a smile and nod of approval his way which he may or may not catch. The Holy Knight's assistance and his Dragon friend are also certainly noted. Knights are a rarity in her world, so it pleases her to see two shining examples of them right before her eyes.

The issue over the gold card is left to Priel, Reize, and the others. Raiya doesn't need to see it to know that this MYSTERY PERSON is someone she must oppose. Anyone who deals with Heartless deserves nothing less than the sharp edge of her sword.
Jack Skellington The darkness lifts, leaving Jack Skeleton out in the open. Quite easy to see now. The menacing darkness taking with it also the threat of Jack Skeleton. There is a reason Halloween is often at night. It's not impossible, but far more difficult and certainly not worth scaring someone, or someones, twice in one meeting.

"Well, she certainly has a sense of showmanship! Bravo!" He calls out, leaping down from the signpost, looking at up at the rather large holy dragon. Fear is something Jack is intimately familiar with, and the danger that comes with the giant holy dragon? He has never been privy to dealing with holy magic. He doesn't even know it exists. "Ah, such a large beast!" Perhaps bigger may be better in the case of fear.

But he is being spoken to, and he is anything but rude. "Why, yes!" He answers plainly. "That's exactly it Reize! The King of Nightmares, the Master Of Terror!" He touts, making his way towards the group gathered together, far less imposing now that he meets everyone face to face. He's still quite unsettling, but he no longer has the darkness to add to the effect.

"How does it taste?" The Pumkin King extends a boney hand, still clasping the glass, towards Ivo. "Why, drink it and find out if you would like. It certainly must be quite different." He offers. He himself has no real need for it. For what does does a skeleton need drink or food for? Well, actually, he most certainly could. It would still be lost on him.

A fight? Against those perfectly well-mannered beings? Heartless, as they've been called? Jack's uncertain at the moment, but his gaze moves to Zeke - or the closest thing /to/. He nods in agreement, focusing on his words, Zeke suddenly interesting him quite a bit. "On the seas, you say? Maybe if there's time after the big celebration I'll be able to see myself!" But it's likely, there'll be a big celebration after that 'celebration'. But a pistol is a pistol, one pointed at his form.

The girl gives him ... a /raspberry/. A hearty laugh comes from the skeleton, taking it all in quite good stride. But a spear now is pointed towards him as well, Faruja focused on a declaration. Even as he is focused on the others, there's no doubt Faruja, and Zeke, would wish to know 'ally or enemy?' and 'what /is/ your mission?'. "Of course not, miss!" He promptly exclaims to Priel, before setting the glass down before Ivo.

Then backing up. "The goal? Of course, the screams and fear of the living! The wonderful fright that they experience, the alluring look on their face, and the chilling scream that comes from deep inside, from bone freezing terror!" He bows, onces more.

"May you always enjoy being frightened, ladies and gentlemen, but there's quite a bit more for me to see tonight. I do apologize for not being able to answer everything!" But the pistol and spear do finally give him reason to vacate, though with far less acrobatics. A quick stride taking him away shortly.
Reize Seatlan Jack Skellington. The King of Nightmares and Master of Terror. The boy takes this in his mind. Between his fight, surprise of trying to survive all on his own, and everything happening so fast...

"I....yeah.... I think..."

Priel was easily able to swipe the card. He had no way ofbeing able to interject. Granted, the card was no longer impotant to him. He read the information of what was involved. The Heartless existed in this Casino Gold.

It is something to explore later.

With Raiya addressing him, the boy nods towards her and Ivo. His eyes turn to face the girl that he had been protecting, "...Haha... she's safe. That's good." However, fatigue gets the better of him. Despite of the healing and the magic, he can see the vision become blurry.

Everything is taking a toll on him as a large weight crushing him.

The girl and her name.

The flower that was squirted towards her.

A lily...

"...Heh. Lily...." The flower used...

That was the last thing he could say before he faints with a thud to the ground.
Zeke Zeke considers the rather improbably acrobatic skeleton. The street was brightly lit. The young were safe. He doffed his hat at the two before securing his weapons. "Ezekiel Fawkes. If you're ever in Port Royal I shouldn't be that hard to find, or at least if the govn'r hasn't been told I'm a filthy pirate and had my ship impounded and screw put in the stocks." And with that he was off. Nothing left here. Kids safe. Oogie Boogies gone. All was well for now.
Ivo Galvan This world is even more diverting than the last.

Ivo blithely takes up the glass that the debonair skeleton has left before him, giving it a cursory glance and sniff before taking a sip. Either both he and Priel are both imprudent, or both of them are keen assessers of actual risk -- and see adventure as its own reward. His glass held in a rather refined fashion, the young knight glances over at the lady samurai and notices her approving smile, at which he grins a little lopsidedly. Did he do something impressive? Careful, Ivo, don't blush.

But it looks like some of their group are beginning to disperse. The mysterious skeleton has egressed, to say nothing of their bizarre cloaked adversary, and the eccentric Ezekiel Fawkes has wandered off as well. And the redhead--

"Stealing from kids?" the knight-errant says dryly, though he doesn't seem to be getting too indignant about it. "What's the matter? The free drink wasn't enough?" There's no way that card could be real gold, anyway-- could it? Well, maybe he should do something about this, regardless. "You know, where I come from, it was my job to apprehend thieves--"

The boy's sudden collapse cuts him off. "Reize!" Kneeling down, the blue-cloaked swordsman checks the boy's vitals, nodding. "...He's just unconscious," he reports. "He must be exhausted." He glances up at the Girl in White, offering her a reassuring smile. "You're safe now. Though you need a name, don't you?" he then adds, lightly, hoping she won't get worked up about it. "Let's see, what would be a nice one?"
Raiya Fujihara Raiya observes Jack's continued eloquence and his agile departure in the silent way that samurais often do. She remains wordless as she considers that this affable creature might end up being her foe down the road even if he is not one of the Heartless. Maybe this could be avoided and maybe it could not. Time will tell.

Reize's speech and fainting causes Raiya to purse her lips together with concern. She is half-way to a knee to check the youth's vitals herself when Ivo beats her to it. She blinks in surprise in how quick the knight responded and smiles once again before standing back up to her mighty five foot four height. "What a kind heart you have, Ivo. Something that this world will need more of in the times to come." The short samurai then looks to the departing pirate and offers a friendly wave. Pirates such as he might make good drinking companions if she would ever end up that way and if she knew where Port Royale even was.

With matters more or less finished, the Lady Samurai turns a gaze skywards. Where should she even go? Perhaps it would be prudent for her to attempt to find her way back to her own world. Then again, hunting down heartless here may be worth her time as well. Decisions, decisions.
Lily "What...? Lily? ... is that my name...?" Whatever the reason the girl's focused on Reize so much in this encounter might be, she looks disbelievingly at the boy as he collapses... and then dives down to shake him a little! "H-hey... you have to be alright!"

Because why? ... oh well. Seeing that he's still breathing, without thinking about why this should make her relieved, she turns to look over at Ivo instead - AND Priel. Priel especially, but she doesn't say anything about the card.

"... I do?" She asks of Ivo uncertainly. "Um... this place... it's not where I remember being... but it's better! Not as much darkness..."
Priel Aylin Taking her attention off the card then, Priel gave Ivo a easy smile at his comments regarding stealing from kids and arresting thieves. "Oh? So the big, bad, knight plans to arrest me~? Oh dear~" Having long set the glass down after finishing with it, she brought her hand to her cheek, faking a demure disposition. "Oh dear, you would arrest little old me? But I haven't even the means to defend myself~! You fiendish barbarian~!"

Taking several steps back, the vanguard eyed the others around, her gaze resting upon the fallen Reize and his companion. Her name was Lily? ...Apparently. Either way, she stilled showed absolutely no inkling of worry for their situations. In fact, she seemed to be more interested in the gold card in her hand, which was currently being stowed away into the pack behind her at the waist.

"Well then, Mr. Handsome Knight wannabe~" The redhead winked at him, wagging a finger mockingly at him before fonishing her statement. "Maybe you should put on some armor before you think about anything else, hmm? You'll start looking the part then~"

And with that said, the girl turned on her heel and unceremoniously began to saunter off, confident that Ivo wouldn't bother with her.
Ivo Galvan Fiendish? Barbarian? Wannabe!?

Handsome doesn't make up for that, you know! ...Well.

"I was in a bit of a hurry!" he calls after the sassy treasure hunter, but, as expected, he doesn't rise from his kneeling position just yet. "I knew I shouldn't have left Father's armor at home," he then murmurs to himself. All that truly bothers him is the redhead's smug self-assurance -- and, even given that, he can't help but watch her go with a quirked eyebrow and a slight smile.

What a cast of characters.

"Well, then, Lily," Ivo says gently to the Girl in White, the young knight still smiling, "let's go somewhere with lots of light."

The words of the blonde swordswoman visibly take him aback. He is not new to praise, but his virtue is not the quality most often remarked upon. "You esteem me too greatly," he demurs, and this time, the skin about his cheekbones is slightly pinkened, highlighting the mole by the corner of his eye. "It'd be a shame for such a brave fellow to perish here, before I got to know him better, wouldn't it?" He grins up at Raiya, though his eyes hint at a gratitude he is perhaps too embarrassed to share. "It's you that's worthy of praise," he continues, even as he reaches out for Reize's limp form. "Where did you acquire such skill with the sword? I obviously still have much to learn."

When Ivo rises, it's with Reize draped easily over his shoulder. "There's got to be a tavern around here," he says, with a completely unjustified confidence. "Let's move before any more of those show up again. Is that alright with you, Lily?" he asks the younger girl, calm despite the potential danger, before looking back at his fellow warrior. "What do you say, Raiya? May I buy you a drink?" He flashes her his second-best smile.

...and holds it for maybe a little too long.

"Okay," he concedes at last, "I'm sort of hoping you might be able to protect us until we get out of here."
Raiya Fujihara Much like how she observed Jack Skellington's departure, Raiya gives Priel's leaving the same silent treatment. She too could be a potential enemy, but a less likely one then Jack Skellington. But who knows, perhaps Raiya will be grossly mistaken.

Now that the redhead is gone, the blonde woman looks back to Lily and company. "Lily is a very pretty name, young one. Perhaps you should use it for now until you are more sure of your actual name." The swordswoman offers the younger girl with a good-natured smile. Her caring for the fallen Reize does not escape the samurai's attention. The innocence of youth is a remarkable thing. The often cynical Raiya could still learn a thing or two in that department.

Ivo's slight blush and returned compliment draws a wry smile from Raiya. "I am..." A pause. "I was a member of my people's warrior class. Martial prowess is quite revered and treasured among them." Her hands are raised above her head now in a brief stretch. "But that is only old history now." Despite the nature of her words, she carries an easy smile on her face.

The offer of a drink and then Ivo's caving in causes Raiya to laugh. "A drink I could use. And it would be appropiate enough payment to ask for...for looking after this group a little while longer."
Lily Through most of the talking, the girl who's APPARENTLY called Lily seems pretty distracted. Not that this is a hange from before-- but aside from looking at each person speaking in turn, she doesn't have much to say to them.

In her eyes, there's still the blank curiosity and confusion that she's shown from the very start. "I don't know if that's my name... but alright! The... the dark is bad."
Ivo Galvan "Then a drink you shall have," the swordsman promises gamely, even as he privately wonders whether his coin will be taken here. (It'll be a few minutes before he realizes the contents of his coinpouch have mysteriously transmogrified.) "Your supervision is much appreciated." Though he seems a little easygoing for a knight, his eyes continue to reflect his more serious side, and the obvious truth: if Raiya weren't here, he'd just fight his way out, and protect the boy and girl all the while.

Clearly, he's grateful he doesn't have to.

"Oh, the dark's not always bad," the knight-errant says easily to Lily, as he adjusts Reize on his shoulder, reaching out to pat her gently on the back, attempting to be as reassuring a presence as he can. "The shadows can bring comfort as well. Not everything need be brought into the light." Like old titles, for example... and ancient history.

"But you?"

Looking down at the girl now called Lily, Ivo smiles again.

"I'm sure you'll shine."
